How long until someone figures out all of the tracks just from that world map? Also I noticed the crab enemy (Sidestepper) from the seashore tracks is a playable character in the trailer.

I was initially let down by the images from the first trailer, but these new ones are absolutely stunning! I was never really drawn to the original Switch, but it seems here like Nintendo has finally nailed the image quality with their games. I'm definitely getting it, along with all the Zeldas and Marios I've missed out on before.

My main concern is the open world being empty and not having enough things to.do.
Yeah, the terrain looked wide open and relatively flat. I don't think MK is the type of game where free roam will be enjoyable

I will say Mario Kart Knockout sounds like fun. It is like Battle Royale, where after each race players are eliminated if they finish poorly. My biggest complaint for online was having to go to the lobby after every single race

I get what you're saying, but the sheer amount of insane shit going on in the trailer, from rail-grinding to weird power-ups to hijacking a tractor trailer, alleviated that concern for me. It seems like they're committed to preserving the manic energy of traditional Mario Kart.

I was honestly absolutely blown away by the trailer, and I'm generally only sort of casually interested in Mario Kart. I definitely don't feel the nostalgia or excitement for it that I have for Zelda or 3D Mario, but I'm so sold on this.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Monolith Soft help them on open world map…..my god! This looks gorgeous!
Seems pretty obvious to me. Given they worked on BotW and TotK it feels like a given. Especially with their if you can see it you can go there philosophy.

Makes me wonder about DK Bananza too if it's a big open field.

It does look good, hopefully there's cool things to find outside the main tracks.
My fun it’s open world just tracking on full speed without any race restrictions.

I’m also wondering if they gonna include 250cc from get go in Grand Prix.

Looks clean as fuck. I wonder if they’re using DLSS?
It's a bit odd.
The 'trailer' shots (everything that is non-gameplay angle) look cleaner than any normal TAA (even DLAA).
The gameplay shots on the other hand seem to have no edge treatment at all - it basically looks like 4k with 'no AA' (and also no reconstruction).

Not sure this is enough to draw any conclusions either way yet.
