Marvel Rivals |OT| 33 Heroes - Perfectly Balanced, as all things should be.

Still really enjoying the game, and I can't wait for future characters to drop. This battlepass has some awesome looking skins too, I was really surprised.

Stoked to see Human Torch and Thing in-game.

Out of all the Fantastic 4, Human Torch is my most anticipated character. I wonder if he'll have full flight like Iron Man and Storm, or something else.
 
Wolverine mains, how in the fuck do you consistently land his leaps? It's so frustrating. I'll have a match where I get 25 kills and feel unstoppable and just doodoo on the enemy tanks. Then I'll have three straight matches where I am 5-14 and can't hit a leap to save my life.

Stop playing him and go black panther instead.

This shouldn't be a question if you know how to play him.

To get the leap to carry a tank you need to be right next to them, then you leap and it will carry them because their hitbox was the only thing in your vision and immediately touching.

Basically lurk around a corner or go behind their team, do the quick dash to get on top of a tank or even a healer if you have to pick a healer, and then leap to carry back to your team to slice and dice.

This works even better if groot is your tank so he can wall of their heal attempts on who you carried and they can't get away. Exception being strange cuz he just flies up and back.

Practice in quick play for a couple dozen games until you're always positive KDA.

Yeah I can be right next to or in front of people and sail over their head every time. But I feel better now because I watched some of the "#1" comp players like TeamCaptain and he misses a lot too even point blank. I guess it's just part of his kit, built in wonky hit detection.

Yeah I am sticking to QP until I am good enough for comp with him.

He's such a massive skill ceiling character. So damn fun once you pop off.
 
I decided to give the game a try today and it's pretty fun. I got MVP in my first ever match but then also got a crash to desktop in less than 2 hours of playtime.

I was kinda late to the party, thinking I was over my Overwatch phase and not being a huge Marvel fan. But here we are, 48 hours in and trying to progress through platinum. I've probably spent most of my playtime getting out of bronze.
Also, I feel there's much more skill involved than ppl initially gave it credit for.

My favorite and most played hero is Hulk by far, with Luna Snow 2nd. Fortunately there's usually a tank spot to fill, and a dr. Strange and/or Ironman to make use of the synergy. I should look into tanking with Groot, but misplacing walls feels quite daunting.
I'm looking forward to the addition of Colossus (data leaked) and Ben.

Also, who the hell are deedee, konshu and shanti?

Been having fun with this game. I made it to plat with mostly healer, but since then I've struggled to climb higher. At some point I even dropped back to gold II again. I feel like there's only so much you can do as a healer, so I've been trying to improve my aiming/DPS skills. Think my age is catching up to me though. I just don't have the accuracy and the reflexes. Maybe I should just accept that I suck and belong in gold. Hela is kinda fun though.
 
Well I'm plat now, that was quick.

Does the game get easier after gold? lol so weird. I feel like Plat games are much easier, already almost plat 1.

No. There is huge variance due to how utterly retarded and incompetent the vast majority of the community is, but the players do generally get better as you progress to higher ranks.

Still trying to get through platinum.
I don't understand how in half of my games ppl instalock, usually dps. Not even considering a decent comp and just totally refuse to adapt and switch it up, even if we're getting rolled and it's obvious the comp isn't working. It's especially bad, when the instalockers aren't even good.
Speaking of rolling, the vast majority of games if 1 team stomping the other.

Other than that as a Hulk player, I enjoy playing the Thing when I get the chance and the new map is pretty cool.

I agree healers were too strong, but they went to far in the other direction. Im sure they will fix it.....hopefully.

On the bright side, I do like The Thing and the slight buff Magneto got.

I've gotten back into it and played a bunch more, and I feel compelled to keep playing even when things are off or I get frustrated, which is probably the highest compliment you can give a game like this.

Also, wanted to give a shoutout to that Jeff I played with last night who kept flanking (way, way, way off to the side) on his own. Thanks, buddy! That was a big help.

I'm not a fan of Magnetos curtain duration being lowered , but the extra damage is nice

I played with a Cloak last night who was DPS only. It was pretty awesome when playing as a tank and my only true healer was a Luna.

My last match tonight, we were getting stomped. I was playing as Strange and getting punched to death by their Thor and Venom close to our spawn room. Right before I died I saw our Wolverine just go sprinting right past us to the front line. Like dude, your character is literally designed for that situation.

You in QP or Competitive? I stick to the former and rarely have a match where at least one person doesn't pick healer.

Even when I do play healer, I play Mantis and find her quite fun. Nothing like seeing an overconfident Hulk/Wolverine/etc. charge in….and then I stun them and laugh as they're now surrounded by several of my teammates that I have just buffed, heh heh heh. Reminds me of playing Sombra in Overwatch and gleefully hacking a Reaper who had charged in hoping to get a quick kill and then use their Fade to get away, yeah, not happening now, pal.

I think QP is more reliable to find healing teammates anyway as players focused on the battlepass will likely play QP to focus on daily/weekly/event challenges which often require playing a healer to complete certain challenges, whereas those in Competitive are likely just focused on playing competitively.
 
Mostly QP. Competitive im only Gold 1. I find the teammates there even worse. QP has been so bad this last week though and its beyond frustrating.

In higher rank this almost never happens. I've only had one game ever where there weren't 2 support characters. (Diamond-Celestial)

A lot of people play QP just to try out new characters or practice ones they don't feel confident with for ranked. And since DPS is the most difficult to play that's probably why it's happening.

Ranked can take care of this a little but even then you aren't immune. Most people want to DPS and they will go DPS no matter what. You can already have two healers and two DPS and what do the last two do? Two more DPS.

Just had a diamond ranked match where we had four DPS, me healing, and a tank. No one would switch off DPS. The worst part is the DPS players usually suck.

I've played for over 200 hours and never ran into this.
There's ALWAYS healers, and 85% of the time at least one vanguard.
In fact, in many games people rush to insta lock healers.

I find your experience pretty hard to believe, and think it's likely just exaggeration.

I concur. Every game I've ever been in (both in QP and Ranked), there is always a healer or two. (sometimes 3!)
As someone noted above, some ppl test their players in QP matches, so I supposed there's a chance there won't be a healer in there, but I haven't experienced this yet.

Played a couple of matches before work this morning. Go into ranked. 1st person locks in Sue. Then 4 DPS. So I lock in Cloak. One DPS switches to Thor. OK. Other team is rocking Mag, three DPS, two healers. They are smashing us. One DPS switches to Penny. Continue to get smashed. I asked if one of them could switch to Mag or Strange since we need a shield to help us push. Switches to Cap. It was the fastest round in Ranked I have ever seen. Played one round of QP and we had a normal team and we won, so I went to work on a high note. :messenger_grinning:

I don't buy that lol, so you can think it's gross all you want, this narrative doesn't add up with my own experience, nor any of the people I know who play the game. You can claim whatever you want, you also should pay attention that I said "the last five days." I've been playing every day since launch, and again, I said the last five days. Before this past week, it would happen once in awhile, which is fine. But I don't know what changed for my matchmaking in the past week, because I am being matched up with straight retards. I know it sounds impossible, but I am telling you what I am seeing in the last five days. That's why I asked if anyone else is seeing this. Maybe instead of accusing people of making shit up, think that some people are having a bad time with the matchmaking. Don't live in a a bubble where only your experience and your friends are the only thing that matters. 40 million players, that's a lot of different experiences.
 
Thank goodness last night was back to normal. The retardation of some players is still impressive, especially in ranked. I guess I just needed to whine/complain here to get back on track. Should have done it a few days ago.
