If the launch was good, what matters now is for it to have legs.

This is the same guy who praised Indiana Jones numbers a week after launch. Spider-Man 2, a game over a year old and only on one platform, ended up outselling Indy in December

I enjoy the Circana charts. I don't trust or care about Matt Piscatella's personal input

The data is pretty conclusive, at least prior to it's release. Only P3: Reload for the 3-4 weeks in the run up to it's release had comparable chart position data. Of course, chart positives aren't sales numbers but they do give you a rough idea of how they're doing relative to others.

P3: Reload and Metaphor also had great legs. P3: Reload never left the top 100 for 11 consecutive weeks last year (5 weeks pre-release and 6 weeks post-release), and Metaphor didn't for 15 weeks until recently with a strong post-release showing.

VII Rebirth has had a solid/good start, but how long it can stick around for in the top 100 for will determine if it's doing 700-800k this year or closer to 1m+ sales. It's currently hanging around the outskirts of the top 20. Intergrade is around the top 40.

Given it's open world like XV I imagine that alone is a pretty big pull for the PC RPG crowd + the positive reception on PS5 and GOTY awards and nominations.

Also for those that have held out and only just jumped in once they complete, Remake and Rebirth they only have let's say a 6-12 month wait for the finale to be announced and a 2-3 year wait for it to release from this point onward.

It's old?

Do we get the same "old" discount for all the Xbox, PC, and Wii-U ports?

No, truth is PC gamers are lower spenders and if you want to appeal to them you gotta drop the price. Most PC gamers don't buy new games. Most PC gamers don't even play new games unless they are free to play. PC gamers can't support gamepass, they charge a much cheaper price for gamepass than they do on Xbox but still, sales struggle, so they gotta keep Xbox "alive."

PC gamers say things like "I would never rebuy a game I already own" even if it is a ground up remake or "I would never pay full price for an 8 hour game" so they gotta add padding to make yall buy it. PC gamers are the kings of f2p and nurtured overwatch to be the king of lootboxes. Oftentimes PC gamers just use games as elevator music for their discord lobbies.

Who is going to save the industry again?

Sounds like PC gamers are smart.

Considering the concurrent players are dropping like a brick on steam, this isn’t going to be enough for SE. I’d make a bet that when part 3 comes out even if it’s released simultaneously on every platform, PS will be where it sells the most.
Well no shit. They spent the last 28 years training consumers to associate Final Fantasy with PlayStation.

What? It lost only ~12% CCU players Sunday (26 Jan) to Sunday (2 Feb), which is pretty good.

For comparison (launch aligned, Sunday to Sunday) with the games posted by xenosys xenosys :
Persona 3 ~18%
God of War ~30%
God of War Ragnarök ~15%
FFXVII ~35%
Metaphor ~19%
FF7 Remake ~7%
Yakuza Infinite Wealth ~18%

Eh? The average CCU count for the game is currently 25.9k. It's sitting at 20.5k right now during one of it's quietest periods of the day and has a 31k 24-hour peak.

That's not "dropping like a brick".

It's doing fine (I am amongst the double dippers) but hardly terrific or groundbreaking. It dropped to no 33 in top sellers because jRPG crowd on PC is kinda limited due to variety of reasons. For reference, ReFantazio launched with x2 peak numbers and we already know that the backbone of sales were on PS5.

Still, I'm always happy that my favorite AAA of the last year is making free money (port was hardly expensive all things considered) and Part 3 can't get soon enough.

That guy is a liar. The CCU hit 36K yesterday. That’s 90% of the peak 10 days after release. Why do people come here and just make things up?

No offense, but I’m too old for that console war shit, man. I was just pointing out that Hans ( S Snah , P Private Hoffman , James Sawyer Ford James Sawyer Ford ) should not be taken seriously in any of this discussion. 20+ years I’ve known that guy and have never met a more insane console warrior.

You say all this but yet it is you who took it upon yourself to console war from the very first post of this thread.

As I said, as you will.

Better than FFXVI and Spiderman 2's PC launch at least which is well deserved. And don't forget the player count would be even higher if it was playable on the 1000 series like how FFXVI was.

Now launch Part 3 on day 1 on PC when the hype and momentum is at it's highest.

I hope you realize that you're coming across as an obsessive person, especially with feeling the need to point out shit about someone that hasn't even posted in this thread.
The last time I posted here was March 26, 2024, almost a year ago.

I’m just saying James Sawyer Ford James Sawyer Ford was permabanned from GAF multiple times due to insane console wars rhetoric via the accounts P Private Hoffman and S Snah (Hans backwards, which was his user name on Opa-Ages).

That’s the last time I mention it, promise.

So you started to post again after almost a year just to talk about James.
Considering that you didn't post anything between December 2021 and February 2024, it's very safe to say that you're someone else's alt account.
End of the thread derail for my part.

I’m an alt account? 😂 Ask Kacho Kacho that if that’s true. You registered here 2 years ago. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
