It outsold the entire PSP library for ther week, with the exception of 3 games.


And winning 11 dropped like a rock, while Tetris barely went down.

Aren't the sales high because it's golden week? I mean BT2 was over 100k! I wouldn't expect anything near this high next week. COM just keeps chuggin along don't it?

To reach 4 million this year it will have to sell 53,993 on average each week from now. With a huge boost in December I can't see how that could not happen.

I go to bed for 7 hrs and wake up to all this!!

I expected titles to jump for golden week but not DOUBLE. And 275k for DSL??? So over 300k for DS + DSL? That is just insane. Wait till Mario Bros hits.

And yes, I said a couple of months ago that BT 1 & 2 and Animal Crossing will all do 4m and I still stand by that.

holy shit. amazing DS hardware and software sales. Nintendo essentially has five 1m+ sellers including three 2m+ sellers in the top 10.

DSL is never going to make it to Europe :(

127 Million

A little less than half of the US population, but greater than any country in Europe. Obviously densities greatly differ.

Well I'd been up late the last few days with all this news and miss the best stuff by the look of it!!

And yes, those titles will EASILY do 4m. Comfortably. Will modify some charts in a bit to show just how much ownage we have here.

Amazing. Sony must be shitting themselves.


The thing that impresses me most is that with all this doom and gloom about non-games and people complaining about them, Nintendo come along and show the most impressive portfolio of "real-games" I've ever seen on Wii and DS at E3, and hardly any non-games at all (even though you just know Nintendogs, Brain Training sequels are in the works).

I'm afraid Japan is Nintendo's at the moment. Not even Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest can change that. The lineup is just so strong all across the board, and both on Wii and DS.

And I can see that being the case. I can see the DS at 13m by December (just over 2 years!!) and who knows just how big Wii will be.

what a crazy turnaround Nintendo are having. Wii is far from a sure thing right now but it will obviously do far better than the GC, and the DS is simply beyond anything the industry has ever seen...it took a little while to get going but it's unstoppable now. The momentum means the hardware is just going to suck all kinds of games towards it.

No way Brain Training 2 can reach 4 million by the end of this year. If there were only 12 million DS units sold (just an estimate) than that would mean 1 out of every 3 owners would own that game. I think it'll pass 3 million, but 4?

Not quite.

I think 2.4m for FFXIII and about 2.3m for AC (plus 1.5m last year) 3.8m total.

Not if DS goes down to weekly sales of around 100k or less soon. The big question is when that´s gonna happen. If it sells 200k every week for the rest of the year, DS will reach 15m.. ;P

There's a good chance it wont drop sub 100k this year to be honest.

And you have to see another 2m+ being sold in Nov / Dec alone.
