Naughty Dog and the PS4

They'll make Uncharted 4 for a close-to-launch PS4 release and then wipe their hands clean of the series entirely. After that it's full speed ahead on a new IP.

I'm a little worried that ND didn't show anything here because two things they stand out with (that can be easily demoed at least) are the art direction and technological proficiency - and now it seems like everyone and their mother was able to demo something that looked stupidly good. Even Guerilla which always went for the dark and dreary look demoed colorful stuff that looked more like something I was expecting to see from ND.

What I'm saying is I'm not really sure what is it that ND has to do now to top this stuff, and I'm not sure if they knew either.

I want a new IP and The Last of Us will satisfy that itch but I also want an UC4 for PS4. I love the characters and the world of the franchise and really want to experience it one more time on more powerful hardware.

Uncharted 4. TLoU is their new IP. I'm sure that if it'll sell well on PS3 there will be a TLoU2 on PS4. Uncharted should continue. It's the best IP of this generation, it's not even close to running out of steam.

Brand new IP. TLoU is already looking like UC2-tier, I'd rather they not fuck it up like 3. Also they should let Uncharted rest.

can't see them doing another IP after TLOU unless they put some other team on it but then again i don't want anyone else doing it. where is amy is she working on TLU too or has she secretly been working on ps4.

We still need Uncharted 4, ending with Nate and Elena having a daughter named Ellie, and the very last scene is them watching the news report about the spread of the outbreak.

Think about it though, we saw the newspaper in Uncharted 3 which hinted at The Last of Us, which is set sometime in the future, so it stands to reason that it happens in the Uncharted universe. Mysterious orphan girl in The Last of Us.. could be Nate and Elenas kid. So Uncharted 4 would be the end of the series, which would continue on with The Last of Us 2 on PS4.. so the Last of Us games would be a series sequel to the Uncharted series.

Would be interesting if Naughty Dog took Uncharted and basically did a more open-world exploration take on it. I'm not sure how they'd work the cinematic style that I love from the other Uncharted games into a design like that however.

You're realllly stretching and reaching here.

Really hope they're working on another new IP, disappointed Sucker Punch and Guerilla weren't. I love the Uncharted games but 3 is enough, don't feel like there's much left to explore gameplay or story wise

They probably won't show anything until E3 interms of their PS4 title, just so that the hype for Last of Us doesn't diminish as we get closer to the launch.

I know for sure that both Naughtydog and Santa Monica Studios have been working on PS4 titles for quite some time now, my guess is over 2 years.

Hopefully they will get the attention they deserve come summer of 2013.

It would be cool, but there's no way.

Anything (except for Last of Us PS4) really. Anything that Naughty Dog touches becomes golden, so I don't mind whatever it is.

I'd be happy seeing Uncharted 3 be the last of it. I felt like UC3 was a bit like peering behind the curtain and seeing that the game wasn't really all that great. UC3 was one of my least favorite games this generation, just out of disappointment, while UC2 remains as one of my favorites.

Would be amazing, lol.

New IP lotto could be fun to watch unfold. Jak would also be great (if it was more Precursor Legacy) because I'm an old head and need a godlike 3D platformer somewhere in the first year of a console's launch. Platformers are my flagship genre. :P

From a financial standpoint it makes sense for ND to go back to their biggest franchise and one of Sony's biggest franchises in Uncharted. Release it within the first 2-2.5 years of the console launch and then move onto a new IP.

Naughty Dog needs to release Uncharted 4 and then work on a new IP.

Similar to what Guerrilla is doing.

There's a lot of potential for next-gen improvements in the Uncharted series. Would be a shame seeing them retire the series for good.

I bet we see a trailer/teaser for their project at E3.

I want to see them make a more open game. Whether some kind of RPG, or a similar third-person action game like Uncharted.

I don't hate their scripted cinematic flair, but I'd like to see them tone that down in favor of more open and "random" gameplay.

If they have to make another uncharted, I'd like them to change everything up, less linear, non-automatic platforming, etc...

I'd kill for a new Jak and Daxter. new IP would be nice too.

I'd love a UC4. One that actually ties the story and characters together and gives them a proper send off (I mean, what happened to Cutter and Cloe? Both seemed to be built up for absolutely no pay off)

Yeah. I want as many Uncharted games as they want to make.

The chemistry of the actors and the Naughty Dogs is a special thing. They're only going to be able to have those actors and that crew around for so long before they move on. So as long as they still are having fun making them, and keep making quality installments, I'll keep buying.

If anyone is listening from the office, Ima need a whole lot more of the ladies though in the next game, ND. The last one was kinda a sausage fest, and I <3 me some Elena and Chloe.

Wouldn't mind seeing those two team up and actually be the focus in the next game, having to rescue the boys or something.

I really like this.

I wouldn't mind if it was Uncharted 4, but in a big, beautiful, open world. I still have visions of that gorgeous mountain village in UC2. I don't even want the game to have a lot of action, I just want to walk around and pet yaks and run after chickens.

I hate this whole "make a new IP" trend GAF keeps saying. It's like The Last Of Us doesn't exist to some of you. They'd be stupid to not announce Uncharted 4. It's one of Sony's best franchises, and releasing one every other year isn't a bad thing.

I hope it's Uncharted 4 by them. Because if they don't do it, Sony will pander it off to someone else to do at it became one of their "big" IPs this past gen. Of course Sony held back on ND, SSM, and PD's works. Those 3 projects will be saved to combat whatever MS has to show at E3.

I want them to make something different for their first project on PS4. And then make Uncharted 4 with what they've learned from their first PS4 project and completely blow everyone away.
