Sorry I got mildly triggered by the price6000 euros is indeed more than a PS5.
Can you control the game with your eyes?
So close to the FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE DOLLARS
In all seriousness thts pretty expensive. I understand the tech is pretty good for vr etc, but ultimately it’s vr and in uk a cost of living crisis. A luxury attachment for sure.
Yeah but Valve is releasing a new headset next year and Quest 3 is coming
I get that -- but that's the thing, The Meta Quest will have the 'no additional hardware' thing going for it, even if it ends up more expensive than the PSVR2 -- no way it'll be more than the cost of PSVR2 + PS5 (over 1k USD) -- and it will be able to play older Rift games (I assume) -- which the PSVR2 will not.The Quest 2's specs and screens pale compared to this. They even increased their price by $100. Only thing going for it is wireless. Wait until you see the price of Quest 3 that will be more comparable screen/tech wise.

This is exactly what is putting me off. The price isn't a problem for me personally, but the content is. Hell I'm close to selling my PS5 because of the lack of games that interest me.Man those shovelware launch titles.
Does Quest 2 work on the PS5?I get that -- but that's the thing, The Meta Quest will have the 'no additional hardware' thing going for it, even if it ends up more expensive than the PSVR2 -- no way it'll be more than the cost of PSVR2 + PS5 (over 1k USD) -- and it will be able to play older Rift games (I assume) -- which the PSVR2 will not.
PSVR2 allows you to control the game with your eyes. How do you mean? You control VR games with the controllers. Do you mean the foveated rendering?
who? Also people with "no pc support semantics "
They manage to get psvr1 work with PC. This will be easy
Huh? I'm confused here. That's never been the argument I'm making. I'm talking about VR as a standalone concept. If you're dying to play Sony/exclusive PSVR games, then sure, that's your only option, but if you're just trying to get into VR in general, this does not seem like a viable product for most.Does Quest 2 work on the PS5?
Bro, people were saying DAY ONE to $1500-$2000 graphics cards so they can play their PS5/XSX/S specc'ed games with more frames. It is what it is.To be fair I got an inking of this when Sony announced the 200+ controller with a bunch of people braying "DAY ONE". I'm honestly wondering if its worth setting up a study to see how much of a connection between these people and the Destiny 2 playerbase there is.
What if ... lets say a person only owns ... ya know ... a PlayStation console...Huh? I'm confused here. That's never been the argument I'm making. I'm talking about VR as a standalone concept. PSVR2 allows you to control the game with your eyes.
Firewall uses eye tracking to select weapons. Look and select.
Sony had a version of Infamous running on a PS3 at GDC like a decade ago where the right stick was mapped to your eyes.
Is PSVR2 wired? I hadn't heard thatYeah, that sounds good and all, but ultimately, you’ll still use the controllers a majority of the time. And whatever PSVR2 will have, it will still be wired. I can’t stress how much of an immersion breaker that can be in certain games. It’s the central thing that puts me off making the move over to it. I’ve got used to having nothing getting In the way, and freedom to move over a wide space. Going back to being tethered is just such a huge step backwards.
Can you control the game with your eyes?
I played Half Life Alyx via streaming a Shadow PC to my Quest 2, using the Remote Desktop app and it worked beautifully.
Wireless streaming VR games are surly coming.
This is not a standalone concept though. This is for people who own a PS5.Huh? I'm confused here. That's never been the argument I'm making. I'm talking about VR as a standalone concept. Is PSVR2 wired? I hadn't heard that
I get that too, but let's, for arguments sake, say the Quest 3 is the same price as the PSVR2 -- unless you're dying for the exclusive games there, or refuse to engage Meta, the obvious choice will be Quest 3What if ... lets say a person only owns ... ya know ... a PlayStation console...
lol wutsay the Quest 3 is the same price as the PSVR2
the obvious choice will be Quest 3
The Quest 3... for the PS5.lol wut
I have a decent PC to play VR on. Anyone who has one, there's no point in getting PSVR2. In fact, the wired nature of it makes it an inferior option.
How does this not have its own showcase/SOP event?
That's fair, there's obviously a market for this, and I'm sure people way smarter than me have figured this whole thing will probably be profitable -- but it just strikes me as a "Why would you get X when Y does more" kinda thingThis is not a standalone concept though. This is for people who own a PS5.
We heard these same arguments for PSVR and Sony seemed pleased with its performance there.
Why?I get that too, but let's, for arguments sake, say the Quest 3 is the same price as the PSVR2 -- unless you're dying for the exclusive games there, or refuse to engage Meta, the obvious choice will be Quest 3
Save that number for when the RTX 5090 Ti gets announced.Sorry I got mildly triggered by the price
I like wires. If I buy this I'll add more.
Speculation at this point, which is obviously moot until the specs/price are revealed. For all I know, maybe Meta goes "fuck you if you owned a previous headset. Re-buy everything! And you need this special 'quest box' to play things in 4K"Why?
Serious question - do we have reason to believe 3 will have the processing power to match PSVR2 without being tethered? Short of that, the obvious choice seems to me to depend on whether someone is primarily console player or pc for most people.
You have to look at this as if this was a console launch line used is it worth buying for that? Because this is a console price and has to be looked at in that way. Imma need a GOW or TLOU VR game caliber game to be sold on this. 550 is more than I paid for my PS5!People do realize Resident Evil 8 and Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners 2, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy and No Mans Sky are part of the launch (window) line up as well.
I have two experiences with streaming, one with the Xcloud and the other with Shadow PC. Both worked great. I don’t think most give streaming a fair chance.Do we even know how well this works yet?
Sorry, this sounds like a pukefest. Are you just here to shill streaming or something?
Do people really think the Quest 3 will be the same price as the quest 2? It's prob gonna be more expensive than the PSVR2....its Meta after all.How much is the Quest 2 now?
The standard cost for the Oculus Quest 2 sits at £399 / $399 for the 128GB model, and £499 / $499 for the 256GB version, so make sure you're not paying more than the standard price for the headset by itself
How expensive is the Quest 3?
The headset is said to cost between $300 - $500
Quest 3 incoming at $300....
But in this case, wireless VR is what I’m “shilling” more for. I wonder if Sony ever thought to try to have their next VR headset stream video to the headset from the PS5.
