PlayStation's hardware team has been pretty busy the last 2 years when you think about it

Portal is extremely successful, it isn’t wasted resources

But it’s just something different. I think portal actually serves many types of handheld consumers pretty well as they only game at home

I use it at work every week too. It's not just good for home usage.

Its a quick cashgrab that's all.

Coming from someone that has no idea how the PS Portal even works.

Inzone line up has nothing to do with SIE.

It's a complete separate division within Sony.

They literally sell the brand on PlayStation Direct and no other monitors.

This is a distinction without a difference...

Edit: They also specifically sell inzone headsets on Direct.

We do know very well. Various devices already did what it is doing way before its release.

I do not. Not interested in a product that can only stream games. I can understand though how this could be a great product for some people though.
Well I do & can tell you it's a great product.

For me it's better than PSP & PS Vita was because you're not getting cut down versions of games you get to play your PlayStation 5 games with the same controls on a handheld device. Nowadays we have highspeed Internet almost everywhere so you're not stuck just being able to use it at home.

There is a 30th anniversary PS5 Slim, though? Unless you mean something else?

What he want is the cover so his none 30th Special Edition can look like the 30th Special Edition.

He doesn't see how that might be a problem lol

That would be kinda pointless as you need the grey body as well.

Eh, doesn't mean much. It's a Sony Group accessory that works on PS5 as well, so that's why they included it here.
INZONE is developed by Sony Corporation.
PlayStation is developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., a sister company of the former, so it's not the exact same people, at all.

Playstation hardware team is the only one trying out of the big three.

What has MS innovated since Series launch? Colorful controllers?

What has Nintendo innovated since releasing a decade old handheld? Labo?
SIE developed a much better toy-console as well.
Current co-CEO of SIE, Hideaki Nishino, oversaw development on the thing.

But there's an established difference, it's all different people behind both lines of products. SIE has its own hardware R&D division, that exists in a completely different subsidiary to the TV, cameras, headsets, etc. teams.
You can't really criticize SIE over anything INZONE related, as much as you can't congratulate them over it.
Imagine saying that about any cover that isn't black...
Not sure about that, the grey console is pretty much an essential part of the entire aesthetic, otherwise you would be stuck with a black console between the special plates, which would look ugly as hell.

And Audeze aren't the same people that make the rest of PlayStation Peripherals. They all work for Sony Group and this is heavily marketed and sold towards PlayStation consumers by SIE.

Again, say that about any color that isn't black covers.

Except for the fact that Audeze works first and foremost for SIE LLC. Ronin said nothing Inzone was developed by SIE and he's right.

Whatever, there's a reason as to why they don't do it. And it's not remotely a failure from the hardware division to not sell them separately, that's not their business.

It's a failure when you consider people would have purchased it and they're once again sitting on a lot of money AND hurting consumer relations.

It's a special edition it's meant to only be sold in limited amounts

That’s amazing! 😀 Now, imagine if they had some great 1st party exclusives that wasn’t yet another remaster to play on it.

Glad you enjoy it. I can definitely see the use case. I bought a backbone controller that worked well. But the thing is I usually want to play handheld when I’m not on high speed internet. Mainly handheld for traveling. And streaming doesn’t work very well for that.

Not trying to sell you the PS Portal but honestly I mostly choose the Portal over playing on the TV.

You speak as if Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, and Astrobot don't exist.

I believe the marching orders from the discord meeting was to keep saying PS5 didn't have any good 1st party games compared to Xbox's 1st party when they thought Red Fall , Hell blade 2 & Starfield was going to light the world on fire before Helldivers 2 & Astro Bot became surprise hits.

I said GREAT first party games. Shit that really moves the needle.

Stellar blade isn’t even first party, helldivers is starting to be less interesting ( not sure it’s gonna last as long as other gass games) and astrobot is great if you like cute platformers I guess.

Hardly anything there I’d be shoutting about ( and I was one of the people that was playing helldivers for a few months). You was smart to not mention concord 😂😂

My brother in Christ do you not know how many major games have skipped Xbox just this year? You might be able to cast stones from the glass PC house, but be careful you don't hit Xbox. If PS5 library has only been okay this year, what has Xbox been? Relative to Xbox, Sony has the best library ever in 2024. You don't have to outrun the bear, just one guy you're with. You forgetting all that and cherry picking "Only games Sony made with first party" and not even counting stellar blade, you are creating an arbitrary scenario where Sony failed when in actuality between money hats and publishers just outright skipping Xbox entirely, PS5 has had its best year yet.

I never mentioned Xbox. We are talking about PS hardware releases, and I’m just pointing out that they would have faked batter spending that money on new big hitters….. but hey Xbox is selling less units…. so that makes it fine?

How come you guys can never address what is said without mentioning Xbox? I don’t care how many games skipped Xbox…. My point is look how much money they spent on making all this hardware with no real big hitter of their own to show it off except for some remasters and…. Astrobot,…. if that’s your thing. It’s not mine so….. yeah…. Said what I said. It’s got nothing to do with Xbox, and we know their sales are abysmal…. Cool…… still doesn’t change what I said.

PSVR is pretty much dead in the water with not a single reason to really buy one instead of of an alternative on PC that is far better supported….. but I guess that’s better than having no VR if you want to somehow mantion Xbox, like they have something to with t

There's a checklist for everything Playstation.

Portal no OLED, 60hz stutter, no streaming.
Pro $700, vertical stand etc

Notice the company line about 3rd party, cinematic blah blah blah slowed down a lot since hellblade 2...

How am I moving goal posts when you quoted EXACTLY what I said in my original post… and I emphasised it in my follow up? . Where the GREAT new IPs we were all expecting Sony to make? FF7 remake and stellar blade are not even first party games. They are great games made by third parties……

You don’t think Sony would have been better off spending the money they wasted on concord, PSVR, buying bungie, only to have to have a circus, and their whole GAAS push….. on new games and IP instead?

I’m just pointing this out and people are Responding to me like these bad choices are ok as long as they sell more consoles than Xbox….i think that’s an odd train of thought for some people here to have. And maybe that’s why things are the way they are gonna go with PS long term.

They should have spent all that money on developing new IP or smarter acquisitions. Il that’s all I’m really saying. I guess there’s astrobot… that’s new. But it’s a game I’d give to my son to play. I just don’t have any instrest in cutesy platform games. Maybe if the games mechanics were dressed up in a more adult sci fi theme I might have liked it more…… but I’m not interested in playing games that look like kiddy dreamworks movies. But yeah the rendering tech and the physics looks cool. I just couldn’t see myself getting too appreciative of the art style beyond technical rendering. Just not my kind of game visually or game play wise. I like my games a bit more visceral, dark, and combat driven ( dark souls- likes and fighting games , and open world RPG games…. Third person games with lots of mechanics at play… think a remedy game or arkane a prey reboot …. That’s more my thing)

I’m not astrobot is a bad game. I’m just saying it does nothing for me and if you are a more technical minded gamer who like a bit more mechanical depth and combat that can be a little less forgiving and maybe even competitive ( thinking of the MP FPS games I play) …. Astrobot not really gonna quench those kinds of thirst.

It’s ok if you disagree, but from my end I gave my own legit reasons from a players perspective as to why astrobot is not a great game in my books. We all got different standards ( I’m sure my top five looks different to yours and the next man’s and so fourth) and I don’t knock anybody for having different tastes to mine. But I will express my opinion freely.

"Astro Bot is great if you like cute platformers, I guess".
"Gran Turismo 7 is great if you like racing games, I guess".
"Spider-Man 2 is great if you like action-adventure games, I guess".
See?
Stellar Blade is produced by PlayStation Studios, BTW. I have no idea how many times we are going to have that conversation.

That's ok, but if you're going over there asking "where are the great games?", and someone mentions a title widely considered excellent that you personally don't like, then don't act surprised about it. Get it?

If they keep it up the PS5 will end up with more exclusive hardware than exclusive non-remastered games. 💪
