Did Sony really just give these guys the recognition they wanted?

Was it 2011 that had the big down time? I remember it pretty much killed DCUO and all the momentum the game had launch. It was a long what 2-months?? That game was never the same when it came back up. Seems to happen to Sony more than anyone else though.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
Hmmm, what free games to choose from their apology notice I wonder…

Think I’ll choose to have the down time added on to my PS+ subscription I think.

I'm logged in and have been messaging people back and forward but getting connection failed when trying to login to THE FINALS. Looks like some stuff is trying to work but not perfect yet.

It's wierd. I'm online on the PS mobile app and can see that some of my friends are online, but my PS5 can't connect to PSN.

Edit: Seems to be working now

Edit 2: Down again. I hope my Castlevania SotN trophies didn't get fucked. I presume they are registered locally when offline though, shouldn't be any problems?

It’s a sign that Bloodborne is coming.

This stats are from 2021, but show both Steam and Xbox Live had more outages during the last 12 months in the US than PSN did.

https://www.tooltester.com/en/blog/website-downtime-statistics/
Check the breakdown for Steam. 39% is from the website. 38% for logging in and and 23% for online gaming. I’ve seen the Steam website down a few times, but the app and servers worked, so it wasn’t really a problem.

For PSN, it’s 64% logging in and 26% for gaming.

I also don’t recall the last time Steam was down for hours.

That was 23 days and user information was also compromised. Sony would have a tough case recovering from such a massive outage today. We weren't so relient on being online to play games back then. Imagine not getting any profits for almost a month, plus your users will be thinking about mass lawsuits and some governments will want to penalize you for allowing millions of accounts have their data stolen.

If they do that, I wonder how they come up with a selection to choose from. It'll need to be PS5 games not on PS+ (or at least some). To offer some variety, that'd basically need to be all their first party published games post-GOW Ragnarok.

Probably quite unlikely. If this extends beyond 48 hours, and considering it's a weekend, maybe they offer a 7 day extension on your existing PS+ teir.

PSN is 3 letters, outage is 6 letters and if you divide by 2 you get 3 again. Sony is 4 letters, substracting 1 leaves you with 3 yet again

Half Life 3 confirmed!
One day, this won’t be a joke and then we’ll remember the infidels and unbelivers who mocked us.

I can sign in PSN like an hour ago, and I can send a message to my group too. However to sign into some multiplayer service games like Diablo IV, it was still gave me error. Single Players games work fine, so far.

It's an absolute horror. I couldn't play games for straight 6 hours, don't know how I survived
Well you don’t have a choice either way. Bet it feels great paying for a service and games that you can’t use, the convenience must feel amazing loool.

Bro you're on a forum where people will brag about their PS+ premium subscriptions and call people poor that moan or who refuse to pay.

Its natures way of telling you to go home and rethink your life, instead of playing games and posting on gaming forums

It’s surprising how easily companies have conditioned people to have no control over the things they pay for like nice compliant cash cows.

Checked app and it was with 17 friends on now its down again wth.

Stop using the app to check, it's unreliable.

The app has been allowing people to login since the downtime began, but it's also extremely unreliable and will also sometimes not let people in the app.
