Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Waiting inside the husk of a broken van for the storm to pass, cause as soon as I step outside, a fucking lightning strike will kill me.

I have a 7800x3d, 64gb ram, and a 7900xtx and with fsr quality and frame gen I’m actually getting a slightly better frame rate than my buddy with a 7950x3d and a 4090 using dlss + frame gen??? I’ve noticed a little fsr ghosting when opening doors, but otherwise the FSR+ AMD frame gen implementation seems pretty good to me!

I think maybe his 7950x3d is holding him back a little because he doesn’t manually park the non-3D cores.

Quick save is a godsend, as a console dude i applaud every game that give us that option.

Especially in this kind of game, which is tough and you will die a lot, not having to load a long previous save is truly great. There's 3 quick saves, and many auto saves so i don't bother to manually save.

How is the writing in this ? Qu’est and dialogue were somewhat interesting in the first trilogy
Writing seems okay. Story isn't that good (but you shouldn't be playing Stalker for the story). Voice acting is awful in English, which can range from hilarious to immersion breaking.

I kinda wish they just went super corny like call of Pripyat English VO. It’s incredibly memeable, where as this is just… serviceable.

Daaaamn, what a throwback to 2007, but with much, MUCH better quality in terms of gameplay and everything else I've seen so far after playing for 2 hours. There's a few things I don't like but they're so minor and probably will be fixed / addressed in upcoming patches soon that I won't even bother to mention them. Hopefully, what needs fixing will be fixed soon along with addition of various QOL features.

Performance wise and on my ring (8700K @4.8GHz, 32GB RAM and 3080Ti) the game runs surprisingly well at 4K DLSS Quality and maxed out, I mean, there's no stable 60 of course, rather frame drops from 50+ to 40 and back but these frames drops are so smooth that I can't even notice them. It'll be interesting to check performance in huge populated areas though.

Wasn't too fond of the game yesterday. But today I was forced to use KBM when my controller just wouldn't work for the game. It's so much better on KBM and I'm having a lot more fun.

I dont see how anyone can play this with English dub tbh, it should be Ukrainian all the way
Yeah, when I eventually play it that's what I will do. Just like I play the Yakuza/Like A Dragon titles in Japanese. Although The latest titles in that series has improved greatly when it comes to English VA.

Is there any way to move my steam save to gamepass on pc and then upload it to cloud and continue playing on my xbox series x?

Yeah, I personally can’t imagine playing this in the… Less than stellar English dub, when the native language is right there in the settings and sounds 100x better on the ears.

I wouldn't think so, but googling that with an older game like Starfield might bring up a solution for you.

That because AMD framegen give more fps, than ftom nv

I'm now about 13 hours into the game. I was getting a lot of audio disconnects but it actually might have been my headphones as I decided to just play on my monitor with the speakers (I know I know, luckily this KTC OLED has better audio then any monitor I've ever used and better then some TVs) and I haven't gotten any drops.

Okay, now with few hours in this game is absolutely amazing!
Sure there are issues here and there, but this experience is one of a kind, exploring and taking it all in is really good so far, and it's just the first zone yet..

I am trying to enjoy the game but there is something weird with the controls and the character movement. I think these guys have no experience making games with controller in mind

Ah yes, "if you rightfully point out the shit state the game is in, you're a troll because the original had the exact same issues". Your post gave me a hearty chuckle ngl :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I'm enjoying the game so far, but it doesn't excuse them releasing it in such a state, I can't get decent performance out of this thing with a 4080 super and a 5800x3d ffs... And A-life, if it even exists is absolutely borked, enemies spawning in front of you, the combat AI being far more A than I, it's a mess and the originals were much superior in this regard.
You make it sound like the 1st game was such a bug free game.

And I like to see you make a game when you're at war.

I don't see a setting for it, but I'm super sensitive to input lag and this game has it in abundance

I just booted it up for the first time. I think it's raw input. Feels similar to Call of Duty.

It just felt laggy at first because I had all the settings on Epic thus low FPS but in the menu at least, mouse feels very, very good.

Tbh I never played the original at launch but the AI being at least as good as it is in SoC in the current day should be the minimum shouldn't it? Instead, I've seen enemies running in a single file towards me and random NPCs spawning and de-spawning right in front of my eyes.
Played SoC from beginning to end earlier this year and never had anything of the sort happening in that game.

If you're releasing a sequel to a 20 year old game and some of the most important features are somehow worse I'm sorry but you fucked up.

The gunplay in this one is a 100 times better than the OG trilogy though, it's not even close.

And I won't even entertain you with the war talk. I never said anything about the hardships the devs have been and are still going through.

I'm sure the friendly Stalker calling you inside to taste the best candies of The Zone had nothing to do with it. :lollipop_downcast_sweat:🍭🍬☢️

What issue did you have? I saw some comments about this yesterday, and I did try with controller for the first 1-2 hours but after dying like as if this was this was dark souls I decided to get serious, so back to mouse in a loong time. But with controls I didn't seem to run into any issues either way besides some choppy turning with the very slightest 1-2% stick tilt that is unnatural for me in any scenario anyway.

Really trying to like this game but it's not stalker, it's Far Cry Chernobyl
Dunno it's giving me more of a Witcher 3 vibe weirdly enough, wherever I go it's just pulling me for exploration and sights to see. And it's tough AF.

So my 2 main issues so far:
I've had few crashes when trying to manually reload a save at the same spot, but never after death reload.
Also 8 hours in during the last hour I did have some more serious issues with fps drops and stutter fuckfest probably dropping from the mostly 80-110 (7800X3D + 4070Ti 4K DLSS perf+frame gen) to constant choppy 20 or so for a minute that felt like some serious asset streaming issue, although I quit and started the game many times during the day.

Anyway I'm still enjoying the shit out of this, the because the other 7 or so hours no serious issues besides it being really hard sometimes and yeah the carry weight limit could be more friendly, hope there is an upgrade for that later on.

Any word about motion blur on XSX?

No matter what you choose it stays on Low.

Edit: on reddit there a comment it's only for cutscenes, then if true i don't care.

Motion Blur settings only applies to cutscene. You can't affect motion blur in gameplay. PC can cause the config file can be adjusted.
