Star Wars Outlaws |OT| Robbin' Hutts

Our changes don't stop with just quests though. We've also enabled combat in syndicate districts, which previously only allowed for stealth. This means you can still enter a syndicate district peacefully if you've built a good reputation with that syndicate or sneak past their guards, but now you also have the option to fight your way through if you prefer. Again, this is all to maximize your agency and choice.

I guess people can stop crying about being completely terrible at stealth now.

I’m really fighting myself to not fire it up to see at least what they’ve done so far in terms of fixes. I haven’t played since finishing it back in what, early September?

This particular incoming update doesn’t sound as major as that one CP2077 update that completely flipped the skill system and all that shit, but man it feels damn close to me. Like they’ve basically changed nearly all if not all of the combat mechanics. On top of additional reaction animations, actual weak points on enemies…this is some major stuff dude.

This is such a weird thing to be so hung-up on IMO. Yeah, it's not ideal, but it's just a messed-up animation - makes absolutely no difference to the game itself. Looks great, story is good, Star Wars 'feel' is really good...

And now you dont even need to punch em. Stealth is now totally optional. You can just mow everyone down with your blaster or stun them with the ion and move on.

It's really noticeable to me, no deal-breaker by no means but still i can't unsee how moronic it is, and how in earth aren't they add a little taser if many players annoyed by that.. odd.

Only four trophies added for the new DLC expansion and none of them involve playing Sabaac thank christ lol

Trophy descriptions make it sound potentially dope

Excited to start a fresh run after work!

There's also some free cosmetics you can grab if you go to the Ubi Store at the title screen.

Correct. The update is free along with some cosmetic goodies. The first DLC is also out today and it's $15 if you dont have the season pass!

Any reviews for the Wild Card expansion yet? I bought it but can't try until tonight. Can't wait. I still haven't actually played Sabacc at all somehow.

The stealth wasn't even that bad, it was just really simple and old school and people couldn't handle it.

The 80HD gen

Nice that they'll let you Terminator your way through it now. Totally makes sense for the character :pie_eyeroll:

Never thought I’d see people defending bargain bin licensed game stealth in a $70 game, yet here we are.

Some notable changes -

Player state (crouched, standing) is now kept after traversal actions
Added weak points to various enemies
Adjusted weapon aiming (spread, recoil, etc.) to allow for more precision and management
Added body part-specific death animations to improve combat satisfaction :messenger_open_mouth:
Adjusted jumping to give more control in the air of where you will land
Added icons to environmental objects that require unlockable abilities
Kay now holsters a two-handed weapon in more situations such as when climbing, grappling or using the speeder :messenger_clapping:

Or perhaps he enjoyed his time with it?

I mean i hate stealth and always start stealthy then goes rambo on their ass but i don't see the relevance of this being a licensed game to what he said.

These changes are interesting. I finished the game, and thought it was really good so I probably won't experience them in full, but hard to see how some of them aren't so fundamental that they risk breaking the game somewhat? Curious to see...

Exactly, like stealth is basically dead now. I would think it's still going to be necessary in some situations though if you want to remain in good standing with syndicates depending on what contract you take on. Ill update as I play.

It bothers me because it looks so absurd, and MGS got this right over 25 years ago.

This makes me happy I held off. I remember them mentioning a change in the higher ups on the team, I think it was the creative director? I can't remember. I figured it was going to be because they were going to make some changes. Especially since you don't hear about that happening often for a single player game that's already released. I guess kudos to them for that, especially if it makes things better.

it's pretty braindead now yeah, you can basically start an all out war inside cities and it's totally fine 🤷‍♂️

Weirdly the game also defaulted to "fill screen" instead of 21:9 for me after this update; I guess they changed that as well because of the people crying about black bars...

The boba fett gear is pretty cool though, dunno if it's free or part of the DLC.

Yup I got the full screen too when firing it up. Threw me for a loop for a sec lol

I love the black bars :messenger_sunglasses:

So? Any changes on Pro regarding gfx or performance?
They added PSSR to it, removed the 30 fps option and are forcing everyone to play the 60 fps option at low res and PSSR shimmering artifacts we've seen in other RT games. Another dumb patch.

What's funny is that this is another game where they couldve done nothing, and the DRS wouldve run at a higher internal resolution leading to a much better image quality.

'bargain bin licensed game stealth' was never the problem. the game not providing a mini-tutorial of how to properly use nix during stealth? now, that's the problem, right there...

Seriously. So much they don't show you, like dodge rolling.

I swear it took me hours to fully realize how useful Nix is during the stealth segments. Like Ive stated before, he's basically Aiden's smartphone from Watch_Dogs 1.

Nix breaks the game more than any patch when used correctly :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Even more bare-knuckled boxing KOs by a 110 lb woman against helmeted stormtroopers? Sign me up!
Is it really that different from Sev in COD6 doing arm breaks and take downs of elite Pantheon armored guards?

Though at least the animations you get in COD6 look brutal and use knives and guns against the foe, not just a backhanded slap :p

I love stealth games, but people in charge who allowed for stealth story missions with instant fails were clearly horrible at their jobs. It's not a secret that a ton of people suck at stealth or they simply don't like when it's enforced and you could easily predict the negative reaction. Not to mention that the checkpoint system doesn't work well in the game and even if you reload a stealth section you may not end up in the same situation as when the game created a checkpoint.

At least they're responding to common problems, same with how easy it was to lose a heavy weapon.
