Street Fighter V |OT| Footsies and Fight Money

Street Fighter V |OT 2| You Vs Online Vs Yourself Vs Local Vs Hollywood

Street Fighter V |OT 3| Rise up....your Fight Money

i say give it an awesome title. Wired Warrior is a good one. This game is a huge deal and is going to have thousands of pages of discussion for maybe the next 7? years of its life. Lets start it off with a bang.

Mom and Pop stores always break street dates because it is the only way they can compete with chain stores that have exclusive preorder DLC, point systems, tons of locations, etc. etc.

That's understandable, but it's still not fair really. Oh well, game comes out Tuesday anyway.

thats it? No hot Ken? I thought everyone had a few costumes. Ryu had 3 so far.

there's currently two alternates for each character. Story mode costumes which have all been revealed and then premium costumes. The four preorder costumes (ryu, chun li, cammy bison) are premium costumes. Everyone else will likely have one of those as well, Ken included, they just haven't been revealed yet.

Can anyone confirm about the FM/points resetting, where did that info come from?

Might be getting the game later and don't want to waste my time in story mode if the FM i earn will be wiped.

Ok, managed to fire up the game.

Two big negative things to mention right off the bat, for me at least:
- The only intro movie you seem to get is a very short and quite compressed version of that cool CGI trailer we saw some days ago where most characters battle each other, so not that full version and not the alternative version with the licensed song. This short movie only plays the first time you boot up the game it seems, the second time the game immediately seems to go to the main menu (where it stays, so no "attract mode" of any kind either). If that trailer movie really ends up not being in the game at all, to a single-player focused fan like me who sometimes enjoys putting the game on in the background this sucks!

- There seems to be no way to have the CPU battle itself, a first since all other SF games that I can remember have this, even SFxT. Normally this would be under Versus, but in V, that mode is only meant for local multiplayer. I've also not found the option to set player 1 to CPU under Training or anywhere else. Such a weird omission that only came to be because of how they seem to have structured the whole menu around CFN and online competition. I had feared this might happen but still. Sigh...(Yes, this really makes the game less enjoyable for me as someone who enjoys watching as much as playing, so weird or not, I'm not being sarcastic.)

With CPU vs CPU being out, I guess I can't really do much with the game right now except train, unless I wish to re-do story modes later or something.

The replay search feature is much better in this game. I'd really try that. You'll get much more value and entertainment out of watching replays of real matches. You can even follow the highest level players.

I just wish you could queue up a bunch of replays to play sequentially.

I might try this, but it can never fully replace watching CPU matches to me as this has been a tradition I've enjoyed for years. Sometimes it's just fun to make up stories about CPU fighters and fake tournaments this way, but maybe I'm just weird.

What frustrates me the most is that everything is already in the game for this to be possible except them putting in a menu option to set both players to CPU.

Edit: I also already severely miss having an arcade mode instead of just character stories. Why does Capcom seem to insist on everyone either wanting to do something "story heavy" or with other people (online)? Sometimes a guy just wants to battle the CPU for a few rounds and finish with a boss. Throw us single player people a bone here!
