I bought two base bundles with Mario Kart and a new pro controller. From Curry's they are taking pre orders in store. Had to pay in full though.

No I mean Argos have never opened the orders on the day the console was released.
The post I originally quoted said something like ‘Argos never show stock until day of release’ or something like that.
Argos charge you up front don’t they? Do Very? If not, cancel Very.

If you have one with Argos, I would recommend keeping it. They will deliver with DPD who I've never had a single delivery issue with. I've heard of several PS5s on launch day being replaced with himalayan salt lamps or airfryers at Amazon.

Tried at Argos, had the stop what I was doing for like 5 minutes, when I came back it was sold out already lololYeah Very and Argos both sold out pretty quickly. Lucky for me i got one from both
Had lucky to receive one invite on amazon UK and place the order for the Mario bundle .

This is very true (not the salt lamp bit) Argos were excellent with both my PS5 and XSX pre-orders.

I'm still amazed that despite signing up on several sites to be 'the first to know when pre-orders open' kind of bollocks it seems that all of my emails got lost in the ether.
I reckon I signed up with Argos, Very, ShopTo, GAME, Currys to name but 5 months ago, not just in the last week - but already sold out on all of those so what was the point in registering - unless to just get an email address to spam you with shite for eternity.

I hope it's a one off. If you're sharp you can easily get high demand items on Amazon. Just use something like Keepa and have push email on your phone. Checkout is so fast that you should make it.
If it is random then that's kinda dumb because the people who requested an invite later don't deserve the chance to get an order in.
Nintendo Switch has three times more launch stock than Switch 1 and PS5. You're about to witness the best launch ever for gaming hardware in France and the world.

Yeah but think I signed up for notifications in January for ShopTo - so christ knows when they opened up their sign up for emails option.

Indeed - off topic but they still don't have the PS5 blu ray drive in any of the 10 stores nearest to me whereas other people around the UK have them gathering dust in their stores.

Well even though I hit the preorder with Amazon when it went live just got a email to say not got one and need to just check when they got stock, so pissed off a little as never looked anywhere else, as thought preorders would go live Tue like Nintendo said not anytime they felt like it, but to be honest not to fussed I’ll get one eventually especially when more Nintendo games as Mario kart I’d play but not go out and just buy a system for, just hope people have sense and don’t go out buying scalper prices

This is a daft question, I haven't bought anything from GAME for years, If I preorder with them are they reliable? e.g. should I expect to get it day 1? I've always been a bit wary of them

I’ve always used game stores and gone in and preordered, although I have ordered a long time ago but think back then they used parcelforce, I wasn’t to bothered but then quickly jumped in and preordered , can cancel if can get one with Nintendo uk but since they only gonna send invite out with certain restrictions i can’t see me getting one there and not constantly gonna check amazon now didn’t get chance
Mind u I can remember getting my switch on day 1 but didn’t no if was game or Amazon and remember stories on forums etc of people getting empty boxes or orders missing hope that wasn’t game and whoever

Not sure when I googled it says they do a check on card but don’t take money till 10days before order sent
Not sure never cancelled think u got to ring or email customer service , but checked google and it says game use dpd for next day delivery, mind u that was 10.99 where game wanted 9.99 so god knows as it don’t say who delivery will be , hopefully dpd

This has been a whole clusterfuck with the UK pre-orders. It wasn't supposed to go on sale for pre-order till the 8th, yet every other place had it much earlier, so your average person had no chance to get one. I just got a rejection email from Amazon... even though I put in an invite request fairly quickly, so I have no clue what the requirements were to get one on Amazon. I also haven't got the time or effort to refresh all over the place for a potential pre-order. Yes, Game has them now, but I'm not wasting my time with Game.
Nintendo should have made you aware when you could get one, or they could have just waited till the 8th till the pre-orders went on sale. You now have bozos on Ebay selling them for way over the price.

Don’t know why all the sites asked you to sign up to be notified then just went ahead and fucked all of that off.
Exactly I was very soon as Amazon wasn’t showing anything one min then I clicked can’t have been 10-20mins since last looked and shown click to get ready and I never got a Amazon order, prob a load of scalpers got in or they done something weird to get a preorder

Aye same boat, its annoying af. I wasn't aware pre-orders had already started as I was away on holiday at the time and didn't think to check. Frustrating. I doubt I'll get an email from Nintendo tomorrow either down to their stupid paid NSO requirement, even though I have over a thousand hours played.
I'll wait for Amazon, Very or Shopto to come back in stock.

It just makes no sense. What's the point of the whole invitation process if they're going to reject you anyway? Why not stop taking invites if you've sold out?
Getting one on Nintendo is pretty a no to me because I haven't played my Switch in years, and they have a stupid Switch Online requirement.

I'll happily get one on Shopto if I can. I can get the Mario Kart World bundle for like £422 due to always spending on that site, and I trust them.

Indeed they do. The Fraser Group have ruined them though, you can't cancel preorders anymore without emailing customer service.
Funny story, well not really funny. I preordered my PS5 with them at launch and paid an extra £10 for DPD delivery. A couple of days before release they emailed me saying that they weren't going to use DPD and sent them through Yodel.
Well I have switch online and played a good bit this yr and prob got thousand odd hrs in splatoon 3 last yr, but I’ll put money on these stupid way there doing it I don’t end up with chance to get one with Nintendo , will see tomoro but no email yet

In my 30+ years I’ve literally only ever had 1 positive experience with Game and that was getting Cadence of Hyrule sealed for £8. Utter shambles of a company.

I have no problem with requirements because it does stop scalpers for the most part, but the invitation process with Amazon made no sense at all.
