If a order comes up at Amazon or Nintendo themselves then will cancel game, but I get what people say as hate yodel delivery’s and never use anyone that uses them

Likewise.

To be honest, I don't mind if it's a couple of days late. I won't really get to play until the weekend anyway.

In my 30+ years I’ve literally only ever had 1 positive experience with Game and that was getting Cadence of Hyrule sealed for £8. Utter shambles of a company.
They used to be good until about a decade ago. The shops are all disappearing now and being moved into corners of Sports Direct outlets. There is zero reason to go there when Cex exists.

I miss Gamestation.

Game uk showing stock again

Thanks for the heads up. The catches are £9.99 delivery and you have to buy upfront.

I got rejected by Amazon, and due to having a Japanese Switch account, I wasn't going to get an invite from Nintendo.

Here's hoping GAME can back up their word and do have enough stock reserved.

Also, I'm a bit annoyed that you can't pick it up in-store.

This has been a whole clusterfuck with the UK pre-orders. It wasn't supposed to go on sale for pre-order till the 8th, yet every other place had it much earlier, so your average person had no chance to get one. I just got a rejection email from Amazon... even though I put in an invite request fairly quickly, so I have no clue what the requirements were to get one on Amazon. I also haven't got the time or effort to refresh all over the place for a potential pre-order. Yes, Game has them now, but I'm not wasting my time with Game.

Nintendo should have made you aware when you could get one, or they could have just waited till the 8th till the pre-orders went on sale. You now have bozos on Ebay selling them for way over the price.

Didn't one of the online stores go early?

It shouldn't have, but that will have made all the others feel forced to go too. And Nintendo are hardly going to start threatening their distributors.

Nintendo 3DS sold 75 million units, during a time where people started buying Smart Phones, in case you don’t remember Vita couldn’t crack 15 million that is how hard the market was.
Yes, that is correct. I take it you're implying people stopped buying Smart Phones and tablets to play games?

I actually think people will be surprised and a significant number will become available for preorder.

Seems pretty optimistic so far. We're seeing restocks daily even at this early stage, unlike the PS5 which was sold out and then nothing for weeks.

Well I have switch online and played a good bit this yr and prob got thousand odd hrs in splatoon 3 last yr, but I’ll put money on these stupid way there doing it I don’t end up with chance to get one with Nintendo , will see tomoro but no email yet

I've seen a pic from a guy who queried the selection process with Nintendo Europe's customer service, and it turns out you're being selected at random from a pool of those who have met the criteria. Simply meeting the criteria alone doesn't guarantee an invite.

Well that's a crock of shite when you can pre-order elsewhere.

Way ton treat your most loyal customers because you don't have enough stock of your own product.

They're not saying you can't preorder with them (yet), they're offering a lottery for keen Switch users to get their orrders in first, then they're offering what's left to everyone else. It's a middle finger to scalpers, well deserved imo.

Glad I got a preorder in with Smyths straight away. I knew this would only take a couple days to be sold out or at least more difficult to get hold of. Now just announce some more games I'm interested in and give me the release date for Metroid.

Yep... i pondered wether to wait for launch day stock and do the queue or preorder... mine's already preordered.

I want one, I'm just not sure if I buy it in Israel will I be able to upgrade the games since my Switch OLED/OG is from the US.

Also wonder how much it'll cost here.

Anyone thinking Switch 2 is going to fail is so deep in the forum bubble they've forgotten that enthusiasts like us are a minority.

No matter how many threads people make on Gaf or Twitter downplaying and hating on the system, the reality is that the kind of people who complain about video game consoles online are not even 1% of the total audience.

So, I managed to pre-order the Mario Kart Switch 2 yesterday at 2 different retailers (will just keep one though). I think today there should be more availability.

I actually got invited by Amazon on Friday but completely missed the email, that would have been my first choice.
