Nintendo UK I think (note use of word) have gone one step further than US and said you have to had had a Switch Online membership for at least 2 years - I'm sure US was 12 months?

And Nintendo will get them blame. We'll never hear the end of it lol.

We've already seen the "Nintendo is forcing gta vi to be 1000 dollars" posts and comments, even though gta vi was rumoured to be 100 dollars well before the switch 2 unveil.

SMDH lol

I so think its funny that they've gone with 395.99 instead of straight 399 in the uk 😆

Anyone who thought this wouldnt sell is crazy
Honestly depends how many units the retailers have got.

If each UK retailer has 250,000 day one units and they've all gone - splendid. If its like the Wii and they got about 30 each it's not the same effect.

Don't need 'cope more' or 'deal with it' snark - really does depend on just how many they've had allocated before declaring a massive sell out of biblical proportions of ten million consoles day one kind of thing.

Yeah, don't believe anyone using the slippery slope fallacy here. Any "scary precedent" this was going to set was already going to happen anyway. People are just shocked that Nintendo was the first to take the hit.

Glad I got a preorder in with Smyths straight away. I knew this would only take a couple days to be sold out or at least more difficult to get hold of. Now just announce some more games I'm interested in and give me the release date for Metroid.
If I'm on the fence with this sort of stuff, I'll always pre-order. You can always cancel but you can't change your mind if you don't. Regretted not pre-ordering a few times over the years.

Also waiting on Metroid. The first couple of trailers sucked but the treehouse presentation the other day looked really good.

I didnt even get a notification despite signing up what I thought was 3 months ago. So fuck knows how long the go on the email list was open for before I added myself to it. January you'd have thought would have been acceptable to at least have had an email off them telling me pre-orders were open.

I guess forum dwellers forgets that at the end of the day people buy games to... play games.
yeah that’s the thing. Tbh I think the Switch2 ticked all the boxes for me.

Higher resolution more scope for major 3rd party ports with more power. Happy about SF6. Bring other Capcom games over
Nintendo working their magic. Mario kart and DK look amazing.

If it’s a 3DS type leap that’s even better.
RE:R looks amazing and SFIV too

And I did pre-order my PS5 and XSX from Argos to be fair - it was never on the day.

Maybe on Argos, they went early not sure, awkward one with Argos is I’ve done this before then they cancelled and started again ,I’ve also seen them put listing up with sold out before they actually open preorders as Argos had nothing on there website yest when I checked but Amazon definitely invite and not started as I went to Amazon uk right after direct and clicked to be put on list which is same now as curry’s, Nintendo uk site

What ever people think of prices for console, games etc, this thing will sell out when it releases, be it people who want one or scalpers, just hoping one of my invitations comes through and I can grab hold of one come release, for me was buying what ever price as nothing on my ps5 made me turn it on this yr and currently play switch or pc, plus thinking this could be last console i see myself buying

Even Wii U as a console that sold 14 million units had similar news, let alone Switch 2 which has potential to become one of the best selling consoles of all time.
It's just a normal thing for most consoles to sold out before release and in first months after release.

Weve been hearing for months how much nintendo is manufacturing, with launch so close they must be sitting on lot. I saw all major uk retailers and even smaller ones sell out. I really think they are betting big. I dont really see them failing if they keep steady flow of exclusives + they have capability now to to have modern 3rd party games too. Whats stopping them from having cod, gacha games etc on system now.

Sold out over here in the NL as well. Glad I was able to cop one but I do think supplies will be more than adequate by the time this thing launches.

I put my preorder in with shopto on 16th January and got told I won't be in the first shipment, wtf.

But I think I have one from Argos and one from Amazon guaranteed. I have unknown from Game and am hopeful we get an invite on NSO. As soon as I know we are successful I can throw some back to the pool.

And idiots on here think it’ll flop 😆

Mario Kart 8 is one of the best selling games of all time and the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle is going to sell fucking millions.
Early adopters say absolutely nothing about the health of a console. It was always going to sell to Nintendo faithful, but you don’t get to 150mln only with them. Let’s see how it does past the launch.

I've been busy, so an 'invitation' from Amazon is all I can get.

I've had a Japanese Online account until recently, so I doubt I'll be able to get an offer from Nintendo.

Here's hoping Amazon use their 'AI' to look at accounts pre-ordering, and choose ones that have indications of real, normal people using them.

I'm interested in it, but it isn't a priority buy for me just yet....as I've only recently brought a Wii which is Gamecube compatible and I have much catching up to do with the likes of Mario Soccer/Tennis/Golf, Starfox, Extreme G racing (the 2001 edition) as well as going back to F--Zero GX.....all of this might not have the 4k-esque crispness to the Switch 2, but it's a better option that checking out these titles through a online connection only...

I had a question about the MK World pre-order bundle. Will the MK key be global or region locked to the UK? I am asking because I have a USA region Nintendo account.

Wait, what do you mean never on the day? You mean the console turned up early or late?

I have a preorder with Very and Argos, not sure which one to keep.

It sold out but it's really easy to get one when it goes up for preorder.

It was in stock at game.co.uk for hours.
