And Nintendo will get them blame. We'll never hear the end of it lol.
Honestly depends how many units the retailers have got.Anyone who thought this wouldnt sell is crazy
Yeah, don't believe anyone using the slippery slope fallacy here. Any "scary precedent" this was going to set was already going to happen anyway. People are just shocked that Nintendo was the first to take the hit. We've already seen the "Nintendo is forcing gta vi to be 1000 dollars" posts and comments, even though gta vi was rumoured to be 100 dollars well before the switch 2 unveil.
SMDH lol
Got an extra one to offset the cost.Scalpers inbefore selling that thing at 50% premium:

If I'm on the fence with this sort of stuff, I'll always pre-order. You can always cancel but you can't change your mind if you don't. Regretted not pre-ordering a few times over the years.Glad I got a preorder in with Smyths straight away. I knew this would only take a couple days to be sold out or at least more difficult to get hold of. Now just announce some more games I'm interested in and give me the release date for Metroid.
I didnt even get a notification despite signing up what I thought was 3 months ago. So fuck knows how long the go on the email list was open for before I added myself to it. January you'd have thought would have been acceptable to at least have had an email off them telling me pre-orders were open.Glad I got a preorder in with Smyths straight away. I knew this would only take a couple days to be sold out or at least more difficult to get hold of. Now just announce some more games I'm interested in and give me the release date for Metroid.
The launch sales will tell us nothing. Even the WiiU sold out, and we all know how that turned out.
yeah that’s the thing. Tbh I think the Switch2 ticked all the boxes for me.I guess forum dwellers forgets that at the end of the day people buy games to... play games.
Same for me. I get all my consoles from there now.Got mine with Very.
Picked up my PS5 and Series X there years ago too.
They are pretty good.
Dunno mate unless Argos are lying? What a load of bull, Amazon haven’t started preorders yet all places in uk where just doing sign up to be put on a list for preorder,Argos never show till day of release same as smiths toys
Maybe on Argos, they went early not sure, awkward one with Argos is I’ve done this before then they cancelled and started again ,I’ve also seen them put listing up with sold out before they actually open preorders as Argos had nothing on there website yest when I checked but Amazon definitely invite and not started as I went to Amazon uk right after direct and clicked to be put on list which is same now as curry’s, Nintendo uk siteDunno mate unless Argos are lying?

Weve been hearing for months how much nintendo is manufacturing, with launch so close they must be sitting on lot. I saw all major uk retailers and even smaller ones sell out. I really think they are betting big. I dont really see them failing if they keep steady flow of exclusives + they have capability now to to have modern 3rd party games too. Whats stopping them from having cod, gacha games etc on system now.Honestly depends how many units the retailers have got.
If each UK retailer has 250,000 day one units and they've all gone - splendid. If its like the Wii and they got about 30 each it's not the same effect.
Don't need 'cope more' or 'deal with it' snark - really does depend on just how many they've had allocated before declaring a massive sell out of biblical proportions of ten million consoles day one kind of thing.
So great there were forced to drop the piece 30% just a few months later. This is where you go do some research before replying to me..3DS had a GREAT launch.
Pretty sure that was the point being made. Having a great launch means nothing. So great there were forced to drop the piece 30% just a few months later.
That was bound to happen I think, probably would at an even higher price. Here in Sweden it sold out everywhere in like 10 minutes. Even with our absolutely insane prices.
Right. They had a great launch and then fell off a cliff shortly after forcing a massive price cut. There will always be early adopters.Pretty sure that was the point being made. Having a great launch means nothing.
Early adopters say absolutely nothing about the health of a console. It was always going to sell to Nintendo faithful, but you don’t get to 150mln only with them. Let’s see how it does past the launch. And idiots on here think it’ll flop
Mario Kart 8 is one of the best selling games of all time and the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle is going to sell fucking millions.
Amazon have not sent out invites yet I believe. Get yourself a request in if you have not already. (UK)It sold out immediately where I live, didn't even manage to get anything. Might have to order from France or Germany.
How many to be flipped on eBay do you reckon? Here in Sweden it sold out everywhere in like 10 minutes. Even with our absolutely insane prices.

Bro, what are you doing ?insane stuff, to order from Amazon I have now “requested an invite” - never seen this before on Amazon

Decided to play it safe and preorder one from Gigantti at the very cheap price of 654emassive retailer scalpering, it’s 509e on amazon.de

Wait, what do you mean never on the day? You mean the console turned up early or late?Dunno mate unless Argos are lying?
And I did pre-order my PS5 and XSX from Argos to be fair - it was never on the day.

Artifical scarcity and nice headlines u say?u guys seem to forget Nintendo loves to use artificial scarcity as a tactic. Limit the supply to retailers + scalpers hogging them up = drives up demand and nice headlines.
