Switch 'Welcome' will cost $10, explanation why not free

Therefore Sony lost potential $800000000 by gifting the game instead of selling it.

Do you want Nintendo to lose $800000000 as well?

lol. Playroom was pretty much a demo for the new DS controller. That's why it was bundled with the PS5. A nice gesture of goodwill for spending hundreds on the console and something you can play out the gate.

Nintendo are charging for what is a glorified manual. LMAO. This is low, even for Nintendo.

I'm a pretty big Nintendo fanboy and even I fail to see why they think this is a paid product. Literally everything about it screams pre-installed on the console, or at the very least a freebie for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. I'd love to have been at the meeting where they decided to charge for this.
And no, I won't be paying for it.
They don't want to explain how the Switch/Switch2 are ARM SoCs with Nvidia GPUs.
Kids start thinking about that and they'll end up buying PCs that can emulate Switch games.

Having to pay $10 extra for an interactive instruction manual for your device.. What a time to be alive!

They couldn't just secretly incorporate this into the cost of the device.. What a fucking joke! Ego Nintendo is back!

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
not a very welcoming price tho

Did 1-2 Switch sell well? This was also the "tech-demo game" for Switch 1, right? I have a hard time imagining that this glorified interactive manual will sell any copy.

We didn't know how good we've had it with Wii Sports and Nintendoland...

Bowser living up to his name. They should have just said nothing.

"Oh no, you're mistaken. It's not just an information sheet. It's for people who really want to know. There are DETAILS"

It's really just condescending.

More product information??? But I only see in the gameplay that they're pointing to a button - and they just tell you... This is the button -... There's nothing else. 😐

Imagine nickle-and-diming the people who are genuinely interested in the tech of your product and you charge them 10 dollars to explain how a magnet works or what an LCD screen is, lmao.

Pathetic.

To be fair, they want to sell you the OLED screen a year or two from now so they can make even more $$$. Nintendo is making Apple look good right now and that says a lot.

on one hand I get why people are pissed off that it costs money.

On the other hand I don‘t get why anyone in here needs a manual to a fucking console. It‘s not like you get to know all the ins and outs of the Switch 2 to install the next modchip with this software. It‘s basically just for people who never in their entire life had a console in their hands. It‘s not even meant to be fun like Astros Play room.

But then again, I understand the rage and yes, it is a symbol of Nintendos greed.

So fucking tone deaf it's beyond ridiculous.
This is what gets me. People are still worried about egg prices and now everything is about to go up and they’re out here defending charging for a system features demo when Astrobot, which looked generations better than this, was free. They really should just shut the fuck up already, which is hilarious because a week ago we were all dying for them to tell us everything.
