I'm a grown man and refuse to care about super cheap 10 dollar day 1 pricing on a game that I don't want.

"Value"

That's the type of talk that constantly gets gamers steam rolled. lmao.

Same value Microsoft sold us on what was previously free. Pay to play online that is now the norm.
The list goes on.

The only price people should be ok with it as is free. It's a manual that they're selling cause of corporate greed.
Well, you know, a price is a price. We're not all the same, if you want to sell a car to Elon Musk, a $60000 will pretty much feel like a baguette for him (that is what I buy everyday, a baguette). 😂

While i can't talk for other people, for me 10€ is not the best deal, because obviously it could be free, but it's cheap enough.

Also: I don't think that "it's a manual".

I thought you said Nintendo cared about their hardcore fans, did you mean they care about milking them for every cent Nintendo can get out of them?
These companies are in it to make money. Anyone who thinks they are in it for their fans (hello Xbox gamers) is fucking delusional.

You wanna know how the Switch 2 works? Read it up online. I don't need no $10 tech demo. I could give a fuck how powerful or not this tech is. Or where the magnets are. Or what the LCD screen does. I just want to PLAY GAMES ON MY GAMES MACHINE! And that is what I'll be doing on day 1 of owning my Switch 2. Simple as that. Don't like it? Don't fucking buy it! Simple.

The carry on over this demo/game/whatever is astounding! It's like Nintendo have torn the hearts out of people who would have played this shit for 15 minutes and never given it much thought after that.

That's a ridiculous comparison. Are you seriously suggesting billionaires are too stupid to care about price? You do realize they got rich by knowing how to spend, right?

And in other news, Nintendo is charging $5.00 for fans to sniff their assholes.

One executive noted: "We have noticed that there is a sizeable enthusiastic assholes sniffing demographic and our team of asshole engineers have contributed a significant effort toward fine tuning this particular scent of asshole, so we feel that $5.00 is a very appreciable value."

One game was free with a system, it doesn't mean that every other games like this will always be free with a system. It would be great, it was a good thing from Sony, but it will not always happen for all systems on the market (and not even PS consoles obviously).
That user said Sony charged full price for a tech demo, which is totally false.
BTW, this is the third PlayStation console in a row to include a pre-installed tech demo; PS Vita had Welcome Park, PS4 had The Playroom, and PS5 had Astro's Playroom.

No, but it's still a baguette for him. 🤣

10€ is cheap, and I don't think that it is an outragous price for any game experience. Maybe it's too much for you, not for me. At the end of the day, who cares? People buy whatever they want.

Absolute horseshit from Nintendo lol. This is the same company that sues anyone who appreciates their work in any form whatsoever.

What they're releasing here is a glorified user manual that every other software company in the world has in the form of a 'Help Center' webpage that you can access to learn more about the product and troubleshoot issues.

Huge L from Nintendo, not impressed.

It was an investment. Now it's time to refund.
If only it worked that way. It's not really about earning back the money you spent to make the game as much as it is earning enough money to keep the company running while you make the next game. Nintendo has plenty of money. They don't need to charge $10 for this.

Charging for a tech demo is retarded, but Nintendo has always been retarded.

I’ve always said Nintendo is the most anti consumer company of all time lol.

But giga dip shits like me keep them afloat because we love Zelda.

Nintendo Switch 3 release :

"we decided to charge 20 bucks for they digital instruccions manual and guarantee's
PDF copy"

"it feels like a great value for what you are getting out of the product"

"And for that reason and just the amount of care and work that the team put into it, I think it was decided that, 'Yeah, this feels like $9.99 is not an exorbitant price. It feels like a good value for what you're getting out of the product.' "
by this logic why don’t they charge us to watch ads? I’m sure some commercials take a ton of care and work to make

This is idiotic.

Granted, they don't want to leave money on the table, but this is EXACTLY the sort of "game" you want on every Switch 2 in the first few months to show off its features to friends and family who are trying it out. Just from a marketing point of view, the thousands of dollars they will make off of this aren't worth the upsell potential, especially when they're going to have to do some work to make the average parent buyer see the value in upgrading.

It was already a weak pack-in compared to something like Wii Sports or Astrobot or even Nintendoland. To charge for it on top of everything else is just braindead.

"there are people who are particularly interested in the tech and the specs of the system and things like that, for them I think it's going to be a great product."
Get the fuck outta here. It's obvious this 'product' was not targeted at the people particularly interested in the tech and the specs.

For those people, the internet already provides tech specs, teardowns, deep dives and Digital Foundry analysis. For free.

Those people aren't throwing money at the chance to run a little avatar around and click through an ELI5 'Where are the magnets?' e-learning module.

It's clear as day this was targeted at a non-techy audience. It's Switch 2 For Dummies. Would have been fine as a pack-in. I feel like they might even end up giving it away free after nobody buys it and the suckers Switch 2 Ambassadors will get a refund credit.

I don't know if Bill Trinen made up his weak justifications on the spot, or was given shitty talking points to run, but either way he was trying to defend the indefensible here.

1-2-Switch! I could understand. It was a well made, if silly and overpriced set of minigames.

This looks to be 'Switch for Dummies'. I don't buy those books, so I won't buy this.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
The real explanation from Nintendo: "It's $10, because we're reasonably confident that quite a few people will buy it at that price."
