UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson assassinated

MGHA

Member
The murdered CEO was the son of a factory worker in Iowa. He went to public school and state university--valedictorian at both. Married his college sweetheart, raised a family, worked his way up the corporate ladder over decades.

The assassin's family owns country clubs for the ultra wealthy; net worth of >$50 million. Cousin is a politician. He went to private school (valedictorian) and UPenn (ivy league). Lived a life of a trust fund kid, became disillusioned while traveling the world and reading extremist literature.
So hes a hypocrite?

That feels like a real simplification of things, I thought the story was that he went a bit crazy after getting hooked on painkillers after surgery?

When the rich start eating each other that's historically the tipping point for revolutions. See: Engels, son of a wealthy textile manufacturer. Jefferson, born into the Colony of Virginia's planter class, dependent on slave labor.

Problem is people only look at what they see at face value. So unless someone digs into researching the two people a lot of numb nuts will see a CEO vs a young guy on the run and assume the rich guy is an oppressor and the young guy is an oppressed person who can’t start a career.

Like always, a lot of people hate rich people. But then they probably drool over their favourite athlete or singer where it’s ok for those jobs.

The CEO guy is actually from not far from where I grew up/went school in Iowa.
From there to PwC manager to become CEO of UH - I wonder how hard he worked to get there... feel sorry for the kids and family.

Which also sounds like a simplification don’t you think?

We don’t know the validity of stuff like that either.

“To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”

The US life expectancy ranking is impacted very little by its healthcare system. The manifesto reads of a clueless, deranged, rambling man who is both delusion and has no idea what he's talking about or what he's even mad at. Likely went crazy or just craved national attention.
Yes, we have an obesity problem, a drug addiction problem, a sedentary lifestyle problem, etc. We also have socioeconomic stratification and heterogeneity compared to much of the rest of the developed world due to how our society is organized. Health insurance companies didn't do that.

Our health care system is at the top of the stats for things like five year cancer survival rate.

And every suicide and homicide factor into that too. All of these things are bigger factors of the US's life expectancy than the healthcare system. It's kinda like when back in 2020 you'd have idiots who would say for example "Chicago spends over a billion dollars a year on the Chicago PD and they still have 700 homicides. Defund/abolish the police, they aren't preventing death!" When they didn't even stop to think what the homicide total would be if you started getting rid of cops.

Many people just are wholly uninformed on certain issues and because of that, they draw ignorant conclusions.

The first part is cracking me up.

“This was fairly trivial….” that sort of “it’s simple really” an arrogant person says to make themselves look superior with a fake humble statement.

I'd read reports before this incident happened that there's a push from the incoming admin for Veteran's Health benefits to be cut too.

Undoubtably now that the shooter has been caught and thoroughly cancelled there is nothing to worry about.
Don't worry, comrade. The revolution is coming.

This reads like it was written after the fact. What a load of nonsense. Lock him up and throw away the key.

That doesn't explain your thoughts. What did you mean?
I'm mocking you because you continually say dumb shit in this thread.

CEOs should definitely feel safe now.
The claim of cancelling seems a satirical onion, rather than an observation.

Besides, cancel culture is apparently losing steam.

I don't believe the "drugs" theory; He seems sane in the mind but confused and a lone wolf who acted on his own. Maybe we will discover more but so far i haven't seen anything that would link him to a specific ideology; his attacks have been centered on the health system.

But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore)

For people who weren't sure about those names like me, those are probably (and the related works):

Michael Moore:

Elisabeth Rosenthal:

Yeah and that theory comes from a random social media post of someone who allegedly knew him.

What we know is he ghosted friends and family for a few months, had complained of back pain, and said he got back surgery. We don't even know if the back surgery thing was real, he just as easily could have been leaving Hawaii for other reasons and didn't want to tell his friends why.

The manifesto doesn't say anything about any personal issues with his dealings with the healthcare industry either... which makes sense if he was form a rich AF family. We certainly have no clue if he used United Healthcare. His manifesto just quotes research he did (poorly, since he claims UHC are the 4th largest by market cap US company, which is utterly false.)

Leftists have quickly formed a narrative like one popular substack I saw going around titled "He was radicalized by pain"... as if we really know that lol

Guy's Steam account record:

An avid game developer and gamer?

A Steam profile named "Pep" with the word "(Luigi)" as the description and matching avatar seemingly belonging to Mangione is visible to the public on Steam. The user is admin of a small Steam group for the game development club that Mangione belonged to at the University of Pennsylvania, and a member of a four-member group called UPenn L4D2 Squad. The account owns 299 games, has 2,947 total hours on record according to SteamDB's Steam Calculator, no VAC or other bans on record, and was created in 2013, when Magione would have been approximately 15 years old.

The gameplay history is consistent with someone who is an avid gamer and game developer, featuring playtime with many prominent independent games and other popular games of the last decade:

  • 403.7 hours in PUBG: Battlegrounds
  • 254.7 hours in Terraria
  • 213.8 hours in Rocket League
  • 172.6 hours in Civilization 6
  • 136.6 hours in Don't Starve
Further into the account history, these games can also be seen:

  • 60.1 hours in Stardew Valley
  • 51.5 hours in Halo Infinite
  • 27.4 hours in Among Us
  • 18.1 hours in Fez, with 100% achievement completion
  • 10.7 hours in Civilization 5
  • 8.8 hours in Superhot
  • 8.5 hours in Mr.President!, a game that depicts absurdist assassination attempts
  • 4.7 hours in Undertale
  • 106 minutes in Indie Game: The Movie
The wishlist for the account, last updated in October 2021, lists Half-Life: Alyx, Subnautica, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, BioShock Infinite, Journey, Outer Wilds, and other games.

So many red flags in this list. The Feds should have seen this coming.

GAAS + e-sports + farming sims with 50+ hours of Halo Infinite is a recipe for derangement.

He is wrong about the market capitalization but UnitedHealth is currently ranked #8 on Global 500 (revenues) and #4 if you only count the American corps

Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
The timeline according to his Hawaii "friends" (he lived in a fancy penthouse commune for remote workers)
- He hurt his back early in his move to Hawaii (2022 or so)
- He continued to surf and hike the whole time he was there
- He wrote that Unabomber book review while he was surfing and hiking in Hawaii, showing he was interested in the idea of political violence
- That book review caused the end of his book club
- He then said he left Hawaii to get back surgery
- There's accounts that he came back, and other accounts saying he went to Japan for six months.. it's proven he went to Japan

Notice the radical thoughts on political violence happening while he was still a functioning person surfing and hiking... does that mean he didn't have a back injury? No.. but the narrative that makes it sound like he was some cripple who was dealing with bad insurance companies doesn't really fit. He was from a super wealthy family and travelling the world... and his manifesto didn't cite any personal grievances, he was citing books he read. We don't even know if he really had back surgery considering he also left Hawaii shortly after embarrassing himself at his book club. The fact he sent his friend a picture of his X-ray and put it in his twitter banner could just as easily be a liar covering their tracks.

Most of his manifesto sounds like an infamy seeker who also read some books about the healthcare industry.

Yeah it's not particularly important, my main point was I don't have any reason to think this guy was a customer of theirs. He simply chose the highest revenue health care company. Probably mixed up revenue and market cap in his manifesto.

A popular target if you are going for the populist assassin angle.

(or he could legit have gone schizo or something, but it doesn't read like that to me, I mean the dude went to Japan and partied with some social media people there right before all of this lol)
