Who got a 5090-5080? post in this thread

You're implying that a 5090 can play games in exactly the same way than any other graphics card, as long as the game runs. Because that's what gold cutlery does vs regular cutlery. It doesn't provide any practical benefit.
No dude, Im implying you can eat with gold plated cutlery or normal cutlery, and it won't change that much.
The dude at the beginning asked you what game you couldn't play with any other GPU, you never answered because there is no game like that.
You made a stupid comparison and i tried to show you why your comparison is stupid. If you can't see it is your loss.

Missed out.....would buy one for 3500 if anyone wants to make a quick buck ; ) FE
Pounds? I'll sell you my 5090 for that. If it's dollars then you're going to have to go higher. Scalpers are putting it up for ridiculous prices.

Here in poland its same situation like with ps5/pr0 blu-ray drives, even biggest online stores/retailers got nasty mark up prices with temporary not avaiable info underneath
cheapest 5090 costs here over 3100usd and still isnt avaiable, more premium/beefy cooling models are priced even at 3700usd, still temporarily unavaiable
Basically stores themselfs gauging how many ppl want the cards and gonna artifically mark up the price to get most profit out of it, again same thing happened with ps5 blu-ray drive and is still happening here so i can tell how its gonna go...

I only got one because of this. I worked for the UK, but I am not sure about other countries. It's worth having in the background

I built it locally refreshing every 3 seconds and never saw anything sadly. It's not blocked my IP for rate limiting so just luck of the draw i guess

I wasn't going to and still haven't. But looking at the increase in performance at 1440p from a 3080 to 5080 is actually really good. I'm more tempted but probably won't be getting one for a while.

Got 2 5080s, one in hand, a Asus prime from microcenter, and a zotac shipped from Newegg. And I'll swear on anything whichever one I decide not to keep is going to a friend for exactly what I paid for it.

Gold cutlery versus regular cutlery is not gonna change your food.

Yes you can play on a 4090 everything you would play on a 5080. Jist like you can eat with your hands everything you can eat with cutlery.

But we at least now established that you missed the point.

In the StockChecker Discord people linked that saying they were able to get a card. Turned it on, got a couple of refreshes and the second time I was able to complete the order. I recommend people get on one of these groups. Usually there are multiple drops, they don't release all the cards at once. I remember being the same for the 4090 as well (though I didn't use that app).

There will be restocks, though no one knows when. Discord is the reason I was able to get three FE in a row (3080, 4090, 5090). This is the first time I got one at launch.

Gainward 5080 at what is basically MSRP equivalent in my country.

Funny thing is that I wasn't even looking. I figured they'd all be scalper priced and I just went to get a cheapo 4070 Ti Super to replace my old 2080 Ti.

I very casually tried to get a 5080. Coming from a 3080 it'd be a pretty good upgrade. No luck. That's fine I'll wait for the ti or super duper version at the end of the year.

How are you going to decide which one to keep?

Couldn’t get shit. Best Buy added to the cart but then when I go to cart it’s empty and I couldn’t add it again .

Shittiest website I have ever seen in my life . But then again expected from a shitty company that didn’t want people on proper cue

You're probably better off buying a prebuilt PC with an RTX 5090 or 5080 and then selling the rest of the computer if you don't need it.

You should get a reward for how bad this comparison is.

A pre-built was my plan B too. Would be a bit silly for me though, since I have already ordered all parts for my new build.
It’s for sure not the way I really wanted to go

I have this other PC here that is a 9800X3D 4080Super build that is much nicer than what is coming and I think I will just switch GPUs and do something with the one I dont want.

I usually donate my PCs to a local high school PC lab as they have a class for esports wannabes

PS5 was hard to get but once/if you got it in your cart, it was yours. Best Buy was infuriating. I can't tell you how many times I got "You are in line" to "Sold Out".

Oh damn, sorry to hear that. I almost did the same thing. Nvidia should have waited until they had cards to sell before scheduling a launch.
You guys really haven’t been paying attention.

Nvidias has little financial incentive to sell these cards at the price they’re selling them for when they could literally add a zero to price and then sell them as AI accelerator cards. While AI is still hot, the chips are going to be prioritized for AI. That’s just the facts. That’s why supply is scarce.

The 5000 series exists solely to throw gamers a bone. Jensen knows that once the AI bubble collapses he will need gamers to fall back on.
