GGG > Star Scream in this episode. Also, Guy is a nice guy who totally was all "Yeah, Mamoru, I'll hug you while you cry and not tell anyone. I'm only 20! And an astronaut! And a cyborg! And only 20!" Most refreshing of all, though, is that Mamoru's parents are super nice people. So often for me in mecha shows people's parents are pure evil or dead. Having nice, loving, simple parents really is a good refresher from the Gendo Ikaris and Flit Asunos of the world.

I find incredibly hard to believe that someone who noticed and tried to correct a single loose screw on a chair would somehow miss the fact that there's more to a text message. Do they not have a little scrollbar on the side or some visual indicator displaying how much you've actually read 12 years in the future or something? I also don't get why they've got some crazy old lady to manage a bunch of astronauts but there probably was an explanation that I've already forgotten somewhere. Still, I appreciate them finally fleshing out Ena as a character.
