UNCOMPRESSED metroid prime 4 footage best looking switch game??

Image quality is atrocious but the art direction is fantastic.

Makes me believe this will be a stunner on Switch 2 w/ that higher resolution.

Exactly this. There were a few moments in the trailer that looked stunning thanks to the environment design (especially the scene on the bridge), but so much of it is hidden by the overall muddiness of the image quality.

In a just world this is a cross-gen game that Nintendo insists on showing off on Switch 1 hardware for some inconceivable reason.

I don't understand why people are so mad, it looks great, it won't be at the technical level of a more powerful console game (obviously), but it makes up for it with its artistic style.

Metroid Prime Remastered is a visually enjoyable game precisely for the same reason.

Some people around here must have a really small one...

reminder: this is halo 3, nearly 20 years old....jungle footage for comparison

I'm sorry, but MP4 looks a lot better than this; the Halo 4 comparison is better. However MP4 has a much better lighting model than H4. Halo 5 is where MP4 gets left in the dust graphically.

After reviewing the tape I’m going to revise my statement… to Metroid Prime 4 on Switch looking BETTER than PS4 games such as this:

What is that, 15 fps?

A better game to compare it to is Infamous Second Son. Early PS4:

Which blows MP4 out of the water, graphically. I want the Switch 2 version to look better than this, and I feel that it is achievable for Retro.

Not seeing it, MP4 looks flat and basic. Like a 360 title with slightly higher resolution.

infamous HALF THE FRAMES Im sorry its all true my friends i must tell the truth

It might be the best one out there but its far from being a nice looking game.
I get that the device is pretty weak for 2025, but let's not pretend the game looks great.
There's plenty of 'weaker' older devices with games that look much better than this.
Nintendo knows their own specs and has total control over the display so there's zero excuse.

Another comparison with Halo 4 running on Xbox 360 at 30 fps vs MP4 at 60 fps

This is a stupid comparison, you're streching out an obviously lower res shot of Halo 4 on 360.

On appriopate resoluton TV (720P or 1080P) for the game, with actual high quality captures the 360 version would look way better than what you're showing.

Instead of being mislead by inaccurate images, just take a look at this video of Halo 4 captured on the 360.

Obviously it's not as good as the XONE version, but considering the time gap between the two consoles it's pretty impressive.

I am still relatively new to the forum, but yeah people's memories of PS3/360 graphics are rose tinted as hell.
When Armored Core VI was coming out people in GAF said it looks like PS3 game.

But what the fuck do I know..right? GAF are the graphic "expert" here......apparently.

The Switch is a tablet with near decade old technology. Prime looks fun and will be a blast to play just like the other ones. I’m sure the Switch 2 will push a good bit more out of it too.

Let me help you; i even sharpened the image to help with the comparison shot for Halo 4

Overall, it's a fine showing for what's literally a 60 fps Switch game (why did they go for that target surprises me, but Retro are weird). If we gotta complain, do it for the new Mario Kart running on 8x> times more powerful hardware.

Crysis levels are way more open and have destructible environments.

There is no way MP4 will have half of what Crysis does, in any moment of the gameplay.

All the footage shown so far of MP4 are really linear, with not much happening.

You asked for a higher res Crysis shot, here it is!

This looks multiple gens ahead of anything on the Switch, and it came in 2007.
