Avowed |OT| Is an oath worth the weight of a crown?

Nah, you find unique loot even during exploration\sidequests\bounties, the problem is that most of the time it is just boring and not unique enough other than look.

10% more flame damage after a full combo IS NOT EXCITING.

As he never really talks about it on socials, anyone knows what was Josh Sawyer's contribution to this? Just a consultant?

Anyway, did pretty much all I could do and went to the second zone. It's Yuge.
If I remember correctly, he went in to work on it after finishing Pentiment. To help finish it.

Could be just a consultant.

Soo.. i reached the second map and already getting bored.
Just skipping through the generic dialogue and the main story and "the voice" is kinda annoying me.

Jesus the voice in your head is not sublte at all about some things, i hope obsidian doesn't consider what i'm thinking right now as the big reveal of the story because this shit has been clear as day for a while now...

Anyone notice the performance tanks in dialog tanks when Kai comes into frame?

Some of the exposition is a bit superfluous which makes it drag on. The content is fine but it could definitely be edited down for pacing and directness.

Still enjoying it on the whole. I wish switching weapons was a bit quicker. The fog of war could do with being a little more feathered imo, revealing a bigger area.

I've only just reached level 8 and haven't even had a chance at enchanting yet. Have loads of mats and Unique equipment too.

Some of the encounters seem to be deliberately set up to not allow stealth approaches too. Even trying to circle round or above bears little fruit.

Levelling is slow as well when you can see about 6/7 abilities that would be immediately useful.

You can upgrade a skill for quicker changing, though only after level 10 I think.

I've had those options since level 6 I think, so maybe you just haven't found the right items yet? Or what do you mean?

I actually really like that the leveling is slower and not breakneck speed. Personal preference though understandable.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
The cool loot is in shops. I bough a big an exceptional sword in the second map and I kill enemies in the blink of an eye. The same goes for armors.

Save money, that's the key to find good loot

IMO, and from what I've gotten so far, the coolest loot has been either from the treasure map quests or drops from Bounties.

I had a great time last night, going through the dialogue choices with the secretary at the embassy. Hes got loads to say and it was all really well acted out and written. That was after Marius had joined, so both him and Kai were a part of it, and I guess if I spoke with the secretary before that it would just be Kai that joined in. It was just really well done, the way it adds companions into the mix.

Am I understanding the ranger rank 2 scavenger ability correctly? You can save 25% of crafting upgrade requirements?

If so it’s a must have

How have I not seen this one yet? The upgrade requirements for later levels is pretty high and resources aren't as easy to come by.

Yes, and even Rank 1 is super useful. But upgrades tend to matter less and less once you progress to Tier IV equipment (plus Ranger is broken anyway).
Outside of gathering materials, I see little reason to aimlessly explore and engage in non-quest combat. The lack of XP gained is bizarre
I think the opposite, the areas are quite small and dense so you always find something when you explore, either a quest, a treasure map, a totem piece, strangled Adra etc.

But that’s a lot of material to save till then, a reskill that late in the game to keep in mind.

What do you mean ranger is broken? Broken good?

Broken good, all you need is a 2H arquebus and the time slow skill, just critical charged shots all day. If something comes close you can use the roots ability or Kai’s skill that taunts an enemy. Compared to Mage it feels significantly more powerful.

Got to the third area. Game continues to be GOTY caliber, just on the wrong console.
It's not even the best game released this week, and KCD2 and Monster Hunter make this look like a budget title. No one will remember this game by the time GotY comes around. And while this place is filled with PS fanboys, that's the sentiment pretty much everywhere.

Thanks for proving my point about it being on the wrong console with a warrior reply.

About to start my first long session. I am already 20 hours in but i have been limited to 2-3 hour sessions so far. Iust love the exploration in this, and the loot hunting. Its very addictive.

Its a shame certain sections are determined to bring this game down, while the majority oif people actually playing the game seem to be having a lot of fun.

I tell you what its made me stop playing KCD2 completely. Yes that game has more rpg mechanics and depth but this game is just more fun to play for me.

Finished the story quests in the second zone and briefly spent a few minutes in the third. They're all very visually distinct, I appreciate that.

According to the app, I'm already at almost 20 hours.

For the giftbearer side quest on the second map, I'll give small PSA, there's someone else who would also like the quest item, almost missed it myself if I didn't back out and explore a bit.
The quest has a bunch of outcomes and rewards so some spoilers next if you want the max rewards, no spoilers on the outcomes, just the recipients and method:
There's someone else near the docks/farms called josep who is also interested in the item.
You can give the item to either the giftbearer or josep, but this way only one of them will reward you, OR you can talk to both of them, say you have it and then say you need time to think it over, if you then go back to the giftbearer you can give him something else in exchange for his reward (which spawns later/on reload), and then give the item to josep for his reward.

At 16 1/2 in the third area. Whoever said they beat the game in 20 hours was lying to console war.
