Haha, fam not everyone in the Xbox community made those claims.

Most of you got wayyy too caught up on what a bunch of weirdo-ass people with plastic box personas said. They're not a part of any real "community."

I never even suggested everyone in the Xbox community made those claims, just enough for people to remember it and then point it out later.

If you want to complain, then complain to the people who hyped Starfield and tried to throw it in the faces of PS fans.

But why does it bother you that a few people are bringing up Starfield's lackluster performance?

Phil himself and his team have been talking about this game for several years now and you expect us to move on already?
(tho it does seem like the public has already move on from it, I'll give you that).

Starfield went from #1 in September to #14 in October ? That's some impressive longevity and legs.

Meanwhile Spiderman debuted at #3 1st month on sell.

Personally I just find it funny that in court Microsoft stated that they were fear of Starfield timed exclusivity caused them to buy zenimax for 7 billion dollars. Making these sales results the funniest shit all year.

"Timeless". "Evergreen" . "Forever game". "plenty of legs"

Playstation continues to dominate and Spiderman 2 did amazingly well especially considering its PS5 exclusive status.
Switch did well for its age.
Xbox is struggling a lot.....hardware sales again below Switch, no legs for Starfield (due to Gamepass and poor critical reception), Forza was a non event.

I guess Epic has not reported Alan Wake 2 sales (same as CDProjekt which do not report its games digital sales to NPD)?

Otherwise it will be very worrying....

As predicted Starfield will have no legs at all

I said before that if it does have legs, it would be on the PC side, but it seems even the PC audience isn't very interested in the game long-term. Modders have already said it doesn't seem like a game that's mod-friendly at all. Almost get the feeling Bethesda have done that on purpose to funnel modders to their own Softworks subscription or something.

Even with aggressive discounts, without much support from modders I can't see Starfield having a big explosion in sales or long-term strong tail. It'd be up to Bethesda to make some extremely strong content DLC for it and, well, there isn't much faith they can pull it off. This game may not even break 10 million copies lifetime (or at least, by the end of this generation).

Very surprising, and guess goes to show how strong Spiderman 2's sales really were in October (in a good way).

Unsurprising result at the very top. But AC Mirage surprised me. Good performance.

Also, is Starfield (from 1 to 14) the biggest drop for AAA games month-over-month? NFL was 4, is 4. FC 24 was 3, is 5. MK1 was 2, is 6. Starfield was 1, is 14.

Maybe. I think Halo Infinite had the bigger MoM drop tho. IIRC, it was completely absent from January NPD and debuted at #2 for December '22.

Single player games aren't and never will be the most played games in any month ever again.
That just won't be true, IMO. Starfield was number #1 most played on Xbox in September according to these charts, and I assumed Spider-man 2 would do the same based on the sales. It was released Oct 20th, though, so it only had 11 days to do these numbers. I wonder if it would have ended up #1 most played if it released earlier in the month like Starfield.

No, it wasn't.

It also didn't have Call of Duty beta to go against.

What you wrote in parentheses was... my whole point?

Starfield came and went. So, I don't get the boner some of y'all still have for clapping back at a bunch of Xbox trolls. They're just a loud minority that overhyped the game. It's not that serious, haha.

Not a good month for Hardware, it seems everything was down quite a bit year on year.

September estimates
PS5: 320K
NSW: 210K
XBS: 200K

YTD 2023 estimates
PS5: 4.15M
NSW: 2.98M
XBS: 2.17M

LTD estimates
NSW: 42.39M
PS5: 16.05M
XBS: 11.87M

With November and December remaining of 2023 it's looking like 7M for PS5, 5M for Switch and 4M for XBS for the full year

Is there reason for such a large PS5 sales decrease be last year and that’s with SpiderMan releasing?

Did Sony have a CoD bundle or something?

Opinions in the face of overwhelming evidence are ... incorrect opinions.
The thread has a poll, which means it's an opinion thread. That means the question is pretty much, "Which games did you like more?" 1 in 5 here at GAF based on the poll like the Xbox releases better. Also, kinda stupid to bring that thread up in a sales thread.
Or, they're spokesmen
Yes. 20% of GAF posters are Xbox spokesmen.
