Cyberpunk 2077 currently has no plans for a PS5 Pro Patch

This is true. I did do the trial on PS5 when they had that 5 hour trial or whatever it was a while back. I thought the game looked really good and I played it on my PC originally. I still want a pro patch but whatever no rush. I was going to wait for the price to drop to like $20 anyways since I've already beat the game when it was released.

It was never going to get even close to path traced PC version anyway.

Maybe they'll release a free "Next-Gen Update" on PS6 along with the native release.

One trend I despise about the recent ray tracing phenomenon. They forget about rasterization techniques they would have used prior, with RT off. So you actually get less now than if RT never existed, where they would use rasterized effects in it's place for reflections and baked lighting for those without or not optimal RT performance. Control was another game guilty of this low quality lighting/shadows with the black walls or ground shit.

Wild that some people here think CDPR cares that they won't buy it just because they won't release a patch.
I wouldn't be surprised there are more Mac OS users waiting to buy this game over PS5 Pro.

Must be so hard to be Captain Obvious. And I even think you are proud of yourself.

Believe it or not was not malicious message. What could they even do on Pro, adding those subtle RT shadows at 60fps? Bring another, out of many, RT feature at 30fps, providing something still years behind the full package that requires insane hardware to properly run on?

I'd much rather wait for the whole thing later on

Why would 3rd party devs bother for a console which will most probably have a super small install base ?
I imagine for the same reason they would put effort into path tracing when statistically so few PC users out there have GPUs that can use it at a playable framerate. It's basically a huge product advetrisement and should help increase sales.

Not turning on them, I'm just in no rush to play PL

The base game is not that great that I'm itching to play the expansion, but Pro patch would have brought me back in
Their track record outside of Nvidia sponsored stuff is not exactly great. No next-gen at launch, ages to implement FSR 3 frame-gen, still has no FSR 3.1.

That being said I'd expect a Pro patch to eventually come, but they probably just set the output resolution to 4K and increase DRS. Maybe they would replace FSR with PSSR but it's their older engine so who know how well those two things interact.

I'd wager a PS6 path traced version will eventually hit consoles 5 years or so from now.

If a PRO patch comes out after GTA6 releases, they can go kick rocks! CDPR is on the clock.

Cd Projkect won't even bring CyberPunk or Witcher 3 to GOG on Luna. I kind of don't get it because the games aren't being given away, you either bought them or you still have to buy them to use on the service. Unless CD Projket is a separate entity to GOG in some way and can refuse to do so.
Makes me wonder why make a big stink about bringing your games over to a cloud service and leaving your top games off it. If CD Projeckt have next to no faith in the service, then don't put your games on there at all.

Feels like a missed opportunity on their part. I mean, The Callisto Protocol even had one, I'm sure probably even more obscure games.

Probably because of this

That's probably more of reason, PS5 bros ain't returning to Night City without no Pro patch.
Also a high percentage of gamers don't actually return to games despite DLC.
this just shows PC gamers had nothing to move into 😏

Would love to see a Pro patch but the game already runs great on PS5 and at even high resolution with a stabler framerate on PS5 Pro sans patch.

I'm mostly looking forward to seeing how PS5Pro handles the upcoming games over the next 3-4 years rather than patches for games that are 3-4 years old.

Curious to know how man Mac gamers are there? Then again Mac gamers would be buying CP2077. PS5 Pro users would be download a free patch. I'm still going to play it as I still have to finish the game and get to Phantom Liberty. Hopefully they change their mind, so let the backlash continue!

They're still bitter about releasing that bag of shit on the PS store which was so bad that it made Sony de-list the game.

If the Pro sells through enough units they'll probably circle back to some updates. But at this point how many more units would a Pro patch really move? The game is 4 years old and a decent number of Pro buyers have to have already bought and played the game. Not like they're going to buy it again. CDPR is going to want to be sure of ROI before they pull folks off of whatever they're working on to do this.

PC version got the craziest pro patch of all time along with the DLC. It's still the best looking game out there. They gave us a good reason to play it again. Similar to PS gamers moving onto remakes of old games, except it didn't cost $70 + tip. 😏

Excuse Me Reaction GIF by One Chicago

PC gaming is a reason I return to certain games.
*New GPU....I wonder how X game runs now....
Exactly, would bother returning to a game you completed if it looks the same with that new GPU.

Considering how inept their dev team seems to be, not at all surprising. The Pro patch would have taken a year to implement most likely.
So inept that their inhouse engine still have the most advanced rendering pipeline of any game (on PC) and are actively helping Epic developing Unreal Engine 5.

I checked out The Witcher 3 on Pro the other day. And it already looks excellent and upgraded due to DRS and is now a fully locked 60fps everywhere - so I'm really happy with where that is. Its great now as is on Pro.

But Cyberpunk, whilst improved, still has performance drops in some areas and despite looking a bit higher res over base PS5, still looks pretty inconsistent. I went from hating Cyberpunk at the start on release, to loving it by the time they released Phantom Liberty. So all I can do is hope they change their minds at some point. They'll know by now with the reaction, folks certainly want it.

It is there lost if they don't release a patch asap. Ps5 pro has allot of potentials and will be much bigger especially next year, and PSSR ML will continue to grow and learn more process. But let us not overthink, probably they are not rushing and wants to create a proper patch unlike what had happed to Jedi survivor and SH2 remake.

Why should a company be expected to forever update a game just because some platform keeps releasing new versions? You want a better experience? Get a PC. Consoles are not where you go to keep getting visual updates.

Cool, but not this 4 year old game that was already updated for the current gen. Quit being entitled.
Care to explain why The Witcher 3 got an xbox one x patch when the ps4 pro didn't get it the year before there champ?
