My theory is that they have to bridge the gap with these remasters now because traditional 4-5 years of development have now become 6-8 years for AAA, in essence in order to get ps6 games out in a timely manner they would need to start development right now.
A sobering thought, but not wrong - If you greenlit a next-gen game this afternoon, it would be hitting closer to mid-gen than launch. Utterly unsustainable.

One of the few open worlds game I really enjoy it ... but it has the same problem as all of them ...I just cant get myself to do another playthrough in this type of games.

Exception being Witcher 3.

Sony canned this project and took the studio in another direction.. dont see much point in supporting a dead franchise anyway.

Just don't buy it. Sony is cheaping way too much lol, even Nintendo makes more sense with their re-releases, if anything, Sony should remaster games from older consoles like God Of War 1&2, put OG Uncharted trilogy on PC, etc, they'll whatever but what people wants at this point

Or maybe stop with the 60-80 hours unnecessary overly cinematic bloated asscreed check mark games .... there are other studios pumping out great games in 4 years. And the whole "AAA" experience is becoming progressively overrated

More garbage from Sony instead of giving us real new IPs & great story-driven single-player experiences, RemasterStation 5 indeed, the game already has a PC port & runs amazing on PS5.

Hopefully we see Wolverine gameplay at The Game Awards, something new & fresh from Sony at least even though it’s another Marvel IP.

Was in my backlog, count me in for a 10$ upgrade like HZD.
This is where I'm at.

Never played it, but bought the digital deluxe edition for $19.99 but if they offer a $10 upgrade then I would greatly appreciate it and would give me a great reason to start playing this remastered version.

I got the original Horizon Zero Dawn PS4 for free during Covid when Sony was giving it away for a limited time and got the PS5 Remaster upgrade for $10 to play the best version for the first time.

I got The Last of Us Part 2 PS4 for $9.99 and got the PS5 Remaster upgrade for $10 to play the best version for the first time.

Actually this games needs a remaster more of all of Sony's games. It was a good game with an awfull technical state. Remaster can fix the issues and make this game really great.

It actually runs really well already on base PS5 - locked 60fps at a decent resolution. But if they moved this into the Decima engine and added haptics and adaptive triggers, I'd love it. I can dream. I'm just not sure how much substance this rumour really has.

And, if my math is correct, that should mean we're on track for next year's TLOUP2 Remastered re-release in line with Season 2 of TLOU TV Show before Sony announce TLOUP1 Remake Remastered in time for the holidays.

Days Gone & Ghost Of Tsushima are the only 1st party Sony games I've thoroughly enjoyed on PC. I despised Horizon with a passion and Sony couldn't pay me to play the sequel because I felt Zero Dawn was legit a waste of life-force to slog through until the end...

I played this on the PS5 and it was buttery smooth and already looked incredible, the game really clicked with me, the bike handled great, the guns felt decent and man that open world was so full of detail and great to explore and once you got to the hordes it was proper nerve wracking... Guess I'm in the minority here but depending on price and graphical upgrade I could see me buying for a replay, so yeah I'm all for this.

Hopefully this does the numbers that may greenlight a sequel

It’s almost like people think these global mega-gaming corporations actually care about games & not just $$$ & bottom lines.

Indies have saved most of the last 10yrs for me.

To be fair i think this could do with a remaster way more than Horizon did. I mean the game is still decent looking but i was a bit shocked how low poly a lot of the environment looks, even maxed out on PC.

I'll def try this one out.
