There are several weapons and other things that I think need to be adjust differently for each mod. ARs and shotguns are good in PvE, but PvP? I still feel like they need to be adjusted.

To me that's the best weapon combo for pvp unless a map calls for snipe

I'm so close to bladedancer.

So close...

Get outta here with that. The number of times bladedancer has killed me.

Warlocks forever.

Doing the Mars chest run and I got this ship:

This game has no humour!

The art design in this is fucking beautiful. Just hopped onto Venus for the first time...each location impresses more than the previous one. The artists on this team deserve a raise, shiiiit.

Yup. Mars is especially beautiful. Feels like the wild west.

agree, and the interceptor is another one. it's lame in PvE now.

this is the one thing i dont get and should be fixed. why would a colored encoded engram give you a different colored item? if its blue it ought to unlock blue, if its purple, purple. whats the reasoning behind randomizing even that?

That's how I think. I mean, I can see the super rare chance at an item a tier above. Like a "omg you super lucky dog you" kinda thing but as a rule you should get what you see. It really, really sucks when you finally get a purple only for it to decode into a blue.

And I know someone will chime in with "um, but yeah, Purples are supposed to be rare and hard to get. Bungie have a 10 year plan *pushes up glasses* and you can't expect to have a max level super cool character so soon." Well that's all well and good dead Bungie defender but why not just lower the drop rate on purples? Make it so a purple is really rare (but guaranteed purp) and Exotic is ungodly rare drop.

This game has no humour!.

Oh it knows. It sees our plight and is laughing at us. The game is The Darkness.

Yeah but that's not an excuse to not put an option for mm.

Let people choose what they want to do.

And it's not like the puzzles will be something like myst. And after a couple runs you already know what to do.

It's just a poor design choice.

Agreed. It's one of a few design choices that hurt the overall product, in my opinion.

Give people the choice, whoever enters a raid with randoms knows what they're getting into.

I'm pretty sure i'll never get 6 friends on at the same time to try a raid.

At the very least, use matchmaking on the Heroics.

Fellow Hunters, triple jump or high double jump?

double jump with better directional control. extra height doesn't offer much and triple jump's apex is lower than the directional control double jump. triple jump's more for horizontal movement than vertical

...what if the devs have someone else in mind when they make a feature? Just because you paid for a product doesn't mean that product should cater to your needs at the expense of others -- that's an insane way of thinking.

Yea because adding matchmaking is totally catering to my needs at the expense of others. It's something everyone is demanding.

The option should be there.

Does stealth have any value in PvP...? People seem to see me fine. Pretty disappointing.

yes - but its not a simple "you can't see me :3" type deal. invis erases you from radar and kinda sorta makes it harder for people to react to you. you're not going to be able to walk up on someone expecting to see you.

however, with the blade dancer invis crouch thing. what worked great for me was to crouch for the 3 seconds to go invis then sprint and jump through entrances wherever i expected people to be at while staying as high as possible. people never expect it. they never see it. and without radar its impossible to plan for really.
Fellow Hunters, triple jump or high double jump?

neither - better control. triple jump is useless really. i don't think people realize how much your aim turns to crap in the air.

In PvP they should cut the auto rifle range in half. The damage should start to quickly drop off after maybe 50-75 feet. Most of the maps are too small for a scout or pulse rifle to be useful at this point. If they did that and nerfed shotgun's range as well, I think the balance would be pretty good.

Yeah? I've been having a blast with Salvage and Control. Maybe it's because I don't play many competitive FPS games, but the Crucible stuff seems great to me.

I disagree. Then again I've always been simple to please with playlists, team deathmatch all the way. Why do you think it's lackluster?

Not to me!
I Got bored of strikes quick.

As someone plays a lot of fps everything about it feels off. Most of the maps are mediocre to awful ( talking about you Bastion) and the re spawn system sucks.

Do they reach the same height?

High double is higher. It might be a little too high. I always hit my head on a ceiling.

Team Triple! I like the extra control.

I thought it was alright but something felt off.

This is probably what felt off about it. It feels clunky or something in the air. It is pretty good for horizontal movement like you said though.

Guess better control wins. I'll try out blink when I level Bladedancer some more just because it looks so freaking cool.

everything that kills you is not OP. the shotgun range is laughable and there's plenty of shit that can kill you in more ways (and faster) than the AR. the AR is just extremely user friendly for people coming from a variety of fps games.

holy shit, invis removes you from radar!? i'm leveling blade dancer NOW

The biggest thing to get used to with blink is that triggering the blink effect at different heights can have very different results. It can be really powerful, especially when using arc blade.

GUYS.

I HAVE REACHED.

1500 WORDS.

The chapter is almost done!

You don't wanna know how much ground I had to retread just to make accurate scene descriptions. Thank fuck that I have areas that aren't in the game, as well. o-O

Anyone organizing a fire team for the raid and would like to add me?

I'm a level 24 (likely 25 by the time it goes live) Titan. Striker class maxed and defender class progressing.

It's good for avoiding enemy fire as well. it's easier to hit someone who's doing a double jump.

How is bladedancer for story/strike? Viable or only a pvp build? Just unlocked it last night not sure if I want to waste time on it.

Also, splurged last night on a NS22 Cloud Errant ship...looks cool.

They didn't design raids to be beaten by random MM teams. They'd have to compromise the design of the raids -- otherwise, you'd still be complaining that they're too hard because you'd need a group of coordinated friends anyway.

I think there's a decent chance they'll add MM down the road after they add better gear (to make old raid easier) and the old raid strats become common knowledge. Until then, with existing gear/levels, they're designed to be too hard for MM and I'd rather they keep it that way.

Devastating in PvP, you can clear out crowds really quickly in strikes, once you get to some higher level strikes though you might prefer the golden gun since you get the distance.

yeah. its okay... i'd never opt for it on the arc blade over showstopper unless its a 3 v 3 map or high level strike.

the crouch invis though generally has no drawbacks imo. its all purpose and with the radar being the vague haze that it is ... it really allows you to play off of your teammates in a variety of ways. just make sure you're fast.

and USE THE SLIDE holy fuck people have no idea how good that slide is.

I maxed out bladedancing and love it. Just make sure you don't use it on a boss; that's a really easy way to get smacked in the face. It's best to use when facing a wave of adds during fights. I loved using it against wizards and other annoying add phases.

Dechypered a engram and won my first legendary! A hand cannon, 'Lord High Fixer' with 248 attack. Too bad I despise hand cannons. Nonetheless, fun to get one.

Everything is possible Gaf

I disagree. The auto rifle already punishes you with the recoil, plus I run almost exclusively with the pulse rifle on every single map and I end up near or at the top of the board very regularly when I'm not messing around with the bounties.

i've spoken enough about this elsewhere, but who cares if its too hard for randoms? at least we'd get to give it a go. we may not be successful, but we'd get to play. hell, it may encourage us to find others to form a better unit to succeed. why not have that option? bungie could even explicitly say "recommended for hand-picked squads of 6!"
