Not as OP as Shielded Warlocks and Titans but it's pretty good for clearing out rooms (assuming they don't have plasma rifles and shotguns or RPGs).

Purples are legendary for a reason.

They're supposed to be really hard to get, and considering we've only been playing for less then a week...

I think this game's unbelievable awesomeness works against it a little in this respect. End game stuff is supposed to take a while to get, but the game is so good you literally can't stop playing, so they game's RNG infrastructure can't compensate for the sheer volume of hours and tradable materials etc.

Games probably aren't designed to be this fun.

I really actually picked my 3rd choice in character to level first because I want to experience my choice of character, Warlock, after Bungie tweaks and patches the gameplay. I do enjoy my Titan though.

Control primarily. I tend to prefer team/objective based PVP modes as deathmatch/free for all modes are a bit frenetic for me.

I wouldn't be overly concerned. I'll be the warlock constantly blinking into walls and probably holding my shotgun the wrong way.

One thing that does baffle me about Destiny is that the yellow named bad guys shoukd always drop an engrams or some other good loot. For the most part they only drop glimmer.

I've never had an issue with shielded warlocks at all. The only thing about that entire class that actually strikes me as a real "fuuuu" ability is that homing grenade that they have. Shit chased me across the moon.

Yes they are. I'm pretty calm actually, despite my colorful language. Just a little salty is all, as I Damn well should be.

i'm usually pretty vocal about my dislikes for mechanics in games (bungie's in particular; i'm sure i was on achronos' ignore list at one point), but i highly doubt they threw the loot system in there just to fuck us over. it definitely needs tweaks to its designs and i'm sure we're all unsatisfied with it in various degrees, but that isn't going to get it fixed.

It seems really OP in coop because enemies will often still shoot at other teammates.

right? i feel like these people want their guardian absolutely maxed perfect already. game hasnt been out a week. if anything, i still feel leveling and loot is too easy/fast.

Its not about easy loot/quickly leveling, its more about the carrot on a stick of getting loot pretty frequently. In Diablo when you hit a certain point (around max level) loot drops in troves and only a tiny % of the loot is a potential upgrade. Low drop rates with meh loot isn't preferred because after hours and hours with no upgrades or nothing decent it becomes a "whats the point" game, which is exactly why Diablo 3 vanilla wasn't loved. Then again, this isnt Diablo, and it isn't trying to be. I'm just throwing my 2cents out there.

Hand cannons are just the freaking best for PvE. I used a Scout Rifle most of the time for PvE in the beta, and barely used the Hand Cannon. Ever since I got the actual game, I used a bit of a scout rifle, a bit of the auto, and a bit of the pulse. I avoided and dismantled all of my hand cannons immediately... Until this once time where I figured I'd try it out... Holy crap I cannot go back. Sooo good. I've found stronger Pulse and Autos but I'd still rather use my hand cannon...

Well I haven't found a good scout rifle in a while so maybe I just forgot what they're like...

I got a level 20 people hand cannon from PvP and was like "fuck i don't even user those". Tried it i out in a strike and turned me into a believer. Hit likea truck, precision kills are double anyone elses and kills are also higher than others.

Yeah I was wondering if it was one of those things that just looked OP on my end but wasn't when you're actually using it.

No. The mark system needs to be tuned back a notch imo though... or at least give players the option to buy marks with glimmer. I keep hitting the 25k cap. And I don't want to buy ships and emblems anymore. Nor do I want to invest thousands in the cryptarch just yet.

quick leveling allows you to experiment with classes and dampens the effect RPG-type games have where the person who grinds 24/7 has at an advantage over you.

but i also agree that it does feel a bit short-lived at times. it took me 2 weeks of 24/7 grinding to hit what would be the equivalent of Destiny's 20 in an MMO i'd played, but "playing normally" would take players months. i like the steady progression because it feels like you've earned the character when you reach the apex, but i wonder how that'd work in a game like Destiny where shooting is the primary mechanic.

I play a lot with a Blade Dancer friend, it's pretty awesome to see the stuff he can pull off with it.

I really wish this game had an open world PVP planet. A planet you really only go to with a Fireteam. Perhaps there are patrol missions to take out other Fireteams on the planet, or fight over resource nodes and farming locations.

Blade Dancer in coop is just a mess because the orb of light drop rate is still crap. You can clear mobs somewhat fast but you have to know ahead of time what is actually in that mob (you run into that explosive thrall or minotaur or cabal with shield and you're screwed) and its basically useless against all bosses and most elites.

I mean yeah, you COULD fly through a bunch of dregs and vandals and you'd feel very awesome for a while but its not really helping anyone. Hell, its probably the most useful as a revive tool in higher difficulty areas and strikes.

Well I did the weekly strike with some Gaffers, we didn't use a mic or anything and go through ok, like any other strike. No idea why it needs a premade.

At least you can go into your inventory while cutscenes are playing. Kind of nice to have some time to mess with things before a mission.
