As I understand it both crucible and vanguard xp go towards the ranking for the Faction whereas if I stay as default they are split ?

You should continue to Vanguard Rank 3 as some of the weapons you can buy require rank 3. Then you should wear one of the other Factions banners in order to earn rep for them :)

I think I'll be shelving this game for a bit.

I finally got my way up to Vanguard 2 to buy some Legendary gear, but I could only afford one piece. After all the time it took me to grind up the rep, and the amount of grinding I'd need to do to get enough marks for another piece (especially a helmet, which is the next piece I really need to get the best return on Light) is just too much. I never want to do another patrol mission. I don't like the crucible. I feel like I've done the strikes and missions over and over. The game has handed out the same bounties over and over again this week. I haven't seen a single legendary drop.

I'm just sort of done. I like the core gameplay but I can't keep repeating this stuff over and over and over again and convince myself I'm having any fun. I'll check out the Queen's Wrath stuff but as far as regularly playing this thing, I think I'm gonna wait for more updates.

Is the Titan Helmet from Xur for defender class? It says it "provides death from above and headstrong for fist of havoc" So does it have it's own meter? I'm confused.

Still have a lot of basic armor, hoping to change that over the next few days.

Shortly after, four friends and I played some Crucible, and after our first round, I got a Legendary Engram! My lvl 24 buddy was pissed, as he'd NEVER gotten a purple engram before. So, I go to everyone's favorite dude to decrypt it, and...

In better news, at the end of the night, after all my friends signed off, I did the Earth Patrol to get my Vanguard up, and I got this off a blue engram from a simple Vandal:

No it's a straight up Striker class item. Adds those two skills automatically in the tree when you upgrade the helmet.

I'm a hunter and thinking about buying the exotic chestplate from Xur. But I'm not really liking the special abilities.

Do you guys know if I can get a different hunter chestplate from the exotic engram?

For the duration of Xur's visit, if you have not used your third character slot, you can obtain infinite Strange Coins. It is confirmed working.

I do not endorse this kind of thing. The process is also boring as hell. However, I have been told that some people actually like it and/or will put themselves through anything to gear up as quickly as possible. You can also be extra prepared for his next visit.

If you haven't figured out how to do it, reply to this post. Just keep in mind that this was not intended, and while I doubt there'd be bannings (it's rather innocuous given that there's no trade economy), I do expect it to be patched somehow.

Okay just checked. Each kill is worth 25 points. so that's only 400 kills rather than 10,000. Don't know why it's like that.

Damn, I hope Bungie doesn't turn it off permanently (I'm sure they will try to find a fix). I actually bought one coin before going to work. Thought it was pretty cheap for 2000k or so.

Agreed, those bonuses are not worth the exotic slot imo...guess I will need to play the chest engram lottery and hope for the best.

Hah, went to the Cave of Wonders to farm for some blues in hopes of getting some strange coins and two purples dropped back to back within my first few shots!

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
I spent over an hour yesterday doing patrols on earth and the moon and never encountered a pub event. I wish the alert was like planet-wide or something, I hate that I have to use a schedule to have a decent shot of running into one, since 90 minutes of playing organically did me no good.

So I just got to the last step for my bad juju weapon bounty.
I need to kill 10,000 guardians in crucible to finish it.

Edit: apparently it goes by points, not kills. Nice!

I'm a Warlock as well and thought of creating a Hunter once I finish off my Warlock. Suppose I should just keep it then. Just glad that I had enough strange coins on the side to pick up the gauntlets. Missed out on them last week.

Thanks. I'm going to grab it. I still need a Legendary Chest piece. I may as well just buy one. Can't get one to drop. I'm sure after I buy it I'll get a drop though.

Has anyone had any luck with the Motes of Light for an Exotic Engram? I'm tempted to roll the dice since the Speaker has nothing I desire.

Yeah I went with Thorn which has a similar deal, except it's 500 points with void damage. Currently working on it. First rumble match with a void fusion rifle got me 47 points.

I considered going for Invective, but I already have a legendary shotty that I like and I don't have a primary I'm fond of besides my current exotic, Red Death... So going with Thorn even though many seem to not care for it. If nothing else it'll be something to add to my collection.

Man, Xur has those friggin Warlock gloves again? Even though I'm building up my Sunsinger I'm really not digging those. Launcher is nice, but I don't think I would use my exotic slot for it. Guess I'll be saving my coins till next week, bleh.

Anyone know a good way to level weapons quickly i got the bad juju and its taking a long time to level. I wish i saved my bounties til after i got it lol.

Wait, what's this whole Xur an strange coin thing? I just got here and I'm seeing that farming doesn't get you any strange coins anymore? Or Xur doesn't accept them any more??? SOMEONE HELP!
