Wait, what's this whole Xur an strange coin thing? I just got here and I'm seeing that farming doesn't get you any strange coins anymore? Or Xur doesn't accept them any more??? SOMEONE HELP!

This morning, you could exchange ~2500 glimmer for 1 coin. People started making characters, running through the tutorial, finding Xur, buying a coin, banking it, rinsing/repeating. Bungie realized that was bullshit and patched it out right quick.

So now, you cannot buy a coin for glimmer. He still allows trade ins for materials.

I'm a Warlock as well and thought of creating a Hunter once I finish off my Warlock. Suppose I should just keep it then. Just glad that I had enough strange coins on the side to pick up the gauntlets. Missed out on them last week.

Oh I feel ya man, I got a whole set of Hunter Legendary and an Exotic piece last night. I do not even have a whole damn set for my freaking Warlock! I was pissed... but I now know which class I am making next.

All this time I thought I was in a DestinyGAF clan, but no; I'm not listed on Bungie.net. Any info on joining a NA PS4 clan? I sent a request to Daxximus through the site, but so far nothing. I wanna get in on these Raids.

Which NA region are you requesting to join? I can approve you for NA Eastern 8, but if you requested for central or western NA, we'll have to get those admins to approve you.

Everything is the same s it ever was. Briefly this morning you could buy strange coins for glimmer, but asshats started abusing it and exploiting it so the option was patched out pretty quick so you cannot do it.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I was getting anxious. You know you have a problem when...

This is the last time I'll broadcast this (i'm also about to go away for the weekend- save some Raiding for next week please!)....

For the duration of Xur's visit, if you have not used your third character slot, you can obtain infinite Strange Coins. It is confirmed working.

I do not endorse this kind of thing. The process is also boring as hell. However, I have been told that some people actually like it and/or will put themselves through anything to gear up as quickly as possible. You can also be extra prepared for his next visit.

If you haven't figured out how to do it, reply to this post. Just keep in mind that this was not intended, and while I doubt there'd be bannings (it's rather innocuous given that there's no trade economy), I do expect it to be patched somehow.

Ok, let's do this.

There is only one thing that I equally loath and fear in PvP.

Fusion Rifles.

Those fuckers can OHK kill you to absurd ranges and ones with fast charge times are just so out of balance it's not even funny. Can't take them out with AR or shotty because they dominate that whole range scale.

Bungie has already banned people for glitch abuse etc. earlier, said so in their Twitter, so I'm not surprised if they perma ban your ass for this glitch abuse.

Earlier Xur was selling 1 Strange Coin for 2,400 Glimmer, you could buy one per character.

You could just create a character pass the first mission, buy one, delete and repeat, since the glimmer is shared among all characters.

Gotta say, Warlocks are so annoying to fight in PVP. Sometimes I just get so angry with all of their shenanigans. >.<

And I will still play for many hours when I get home lol.

Fusion rifles are no where close to being as dominating as shotguns. I've run into ppl 1HKO with the shotgun from 5 yards. Fusion need to be aimed and calculated, shotties are point and shoot. Never pisses me off to get killed by Fusion, but shotties are a whole different story.

does anyone know if the exotic engram sold from xur is a guaranteed legendary (exotic) or just a chance like others?

Sorry if this has been answered already in this thread, just jumping in here, but do Vanguard Marks work like currency? Or are they more of a ranking? Like if I buy a piece of Legendary equipment and it says you need to have 65 Vanguard Marks, do those Marks disappear when I purchase the equipment or are they like a level that I need to be in order to purchase?

I never got a purple or yellow engram, yet. Just a lot of blues. But I got two legendary weapons from the 25 or 30 blue items I decrypted. My brother said that I got extremely lucky, but I'll try my luck again at the so called Cave of Wonders today :) I really want a rare or legendary armor so I can get my light level higher, but I think I really pushed my luck yesterday.

Something I only noticed yesterday, but my brother had to study for his test so he couldn't shoot alongside me, but he was able to hide behind me and collect the loot once I ran out of ammo. He also got plenty of blue items in the cave without shooting a single bullet, so drops seem to happen for all regardless of you playing actively in the fireteam or not.

Marks are a currency. You have to reach a certain rank before you can spend the marks on certain things.

Ridiculous scenario, but wouldn't it be awesome if you're a Defender and you use your super and then you change subclasses inside your Ward Of Dawn and then Fist Of Havoc?

Thinking of farming Crucible this weekend to get enough marks for another legendary. Does the Crucible vendor sell gear with light? And is it the same price as Vanguard gear?

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

This is known by a few and more and more are catching on. You don't have to do shit.. just be next to those guys near the cave and go do something else. I know a few who have just put a rubberband around the analogs (tying them together) so they just sit there spinning in place as not to time out of the server. They'll come back in a few hours with PILES of engrams lol.

Was hoping to keep that as quiet as possible inside the Gaf... but i think it's out as i saw others doing it last night.

Hi GAF. I rarely browse this board because it moves so quickly, it's difficult to keep up with, and it's a bit intimidating, but for some reason work filters don't find you to be a threat, so I'm trying to become more comfortable.

I have a question that I'm sure has been covered, but there have been ONE THOUSAND PAGES of Destiny discussion over the past week, so indulge me, if you would be so kind...

I hit level 20 a couple of days ago and haven't had the chance to play since. I'm wondering what I should consider my priorities when I do get back in-game.

* I'm like midway through Venus in the story - Is it really worth completing? It's pretty much balls.

* I've gotten effed up in Multiplayer enough through trying to complete a few bounties - I'm not really interested in getting back into that.

* I don't know anything about daily Strike playlists and that other stuff. What?

* I've done the other Strikes, the regular ones on Earth, Venus, and the Moon. Are they worth repeating?

* I'm a Titan who switched to the Defender class when I could at 15. I don't know if that was a good decision - It was a bit of a kick in the crotch having to re-learn how to freakin' double-jump. Opinions?

* My main question: I understand the premise that leveling becomes "Light"/loot-based once you're at level 20, but I don't know what that means. Does all equipment have a hidden Light category that becomes un-hidden when you've reached 20? Or does only rare loot provide a Light stat?

Thanks for the guidance. I'll try to keep up with the thread.

Need an opinion. I'm decently close to level 26.

My hunter has a legendary chest and arms.

Do I spend the coin on the somewhat ugly exotic chest piece, replacing my legendary, potentially dismantling it for shards....

Or do I wait another week for Xur to return for a piece of armor I need more? During this week I'd rank up vanguard to 2 and hold off on buying a legendary until Xur comes back and I see what he has.

Unfortunately this likely means (assuming no lucky legendary/exotic drops which I haven't had any luck with) that I won't be 26 this week. Then again the people I'd want to raid with aren't quite ready anyway

Man I was doing that treasure cave farm with people and as soon as we were about to collect our loot a bunch of thrall, exploding suicide thrall, and a wizard just fucking appeared from the room to the left of us and they killed everyone except for me.

I THINK BUNGIE IS ONTO ME

yes but understand that you can do multiple days of bounties and max out 100 Marks and not be ranked enough to actually buy anything...

Don't dismantle your chest - I am in the same boat unfortunately. Will be waiting till next week to buy an exotic. I hope to RNGesus that Bungie doesn't raise the prices and they address Cryptarch troll.

Where the fuck is Xur!? I'm stood in crucible office staring at the wall, has the fucker moved or something?!

Across from the speaker - in that area.

Yes he does, not sure but the gear is 65 crucible marks for most armor, helmets are 120 marks. You get 2-3 marks per match (but you have to be rank 2 to buy).

well done all, now Xur no longer sells coins thanks to farming.

I'm at work you farming pricks.
Damn, now I really wish I signed on this morning just to get 1. Hope Bungie can find a way to fix it for next week, I'd like to buy a coin a week.
