Level 24 missions are hard as hell on level 22. I couldn't do it. Damn Vex Minotaurs are hard in less open spaces.

Do weapons that do Arc damage deplete shields faster?

If the shield is blue, yes. If it's a red shield, use solar damage, and use void if it's a purple shield. You'll get a damage bonus and take down the shields faster.

You know, when eventually I do a huge writeup on this game, I can really sum up my feelings in one sentence:

Despite what (substantial) improvements could be made to this game, despite what flaws it may have, the base gameplay is fun; in the end, that's what matters to me, and that's what makes me keep coming back.

It's really the only nice thing to say about the game. Sadly, that is only half what the game really is, the other half is loot and it's doing a piss poor job of that

+ Environments are drop-dead gorgeous
+ Soundtrack is great
+ UI is slick
+ There are plenty of missions that are downright fun

That's what I've played so far. So no, not really the only nice thing you can say, in my opinion.

WHat is this Nexus farming anyway?

So you know the part in the Nexus Strike right before you get to Sekrion, the longish cave where all the Vex Goblins spawn in? Well theres a checkpoint literally right before that cave and if you kill all the Vex and then suicide off the cliff you can just keep respawning and killing Vex indefinitely, collecting Engrams along the way.

What are people spending their glimmer on?

I keep hitting the cap and just buy a random emblem/shader/ship so as I don't waste any more incoming -- but otherwise just from playing the game I am getting a lot of glimmer.

If only Bungie didn't severely nerf the amount of rep gained from the Cryptarch when buying his engrams to level him up, I'd be spending all my money on that. Currently Level 6 with him.

What does leveling him up do?

I think I've been level 20+ for 20 hours of gametime now... still no legendary from an engram I can actually use. Just an abysmal drop rate and then there's the likely chance you get blues or a legendary for a class you're not even playing... Just a mess of a loot system right now. Hopefully a patch is sooner rather than later.

Does anyone else think the Sunsinger isn't going to be worth it for the Raid? The Radiance cool-down ability doesn't even effect your teammates Supers, only the grenades and melee. It seems like the Voidwalker is the way to go.

Didn't get shit all day. Basically had to grind out crucible to hit rank 2 and buy some boots just to make progress on light.

Then I come on here and see guys talking about getting their third fucking exotic.

Visuals and sound are great and i've mentioned them in the past. The ui is great but missing a lot of things (map for instance, better way to get friends into strikes, hell getting randoms that you like playing with into a saved friends list in game, ability to queue to things from outside of orbit, explanation of game mechanics for people that don't know how to use the radar or what weapon types do unless you dig for them). And missions might be fun the first few times, but when you gotta keep farming them for loot that won't drop, you realize how shallow they actually are.

- Auto Rifle is the easiest weapon to rack up kills with. Use crouch to sneak into control points and to stay off the radar.

- Know what secondary weapon is best suitable for every map by using common sense. Small/close quarters map? Shotgun/Fusion. Mid-large open map? Sniper.

- Pay attention to the heavy ammo alerts, most players ignore free rocket ammo that almost guarantees you a multi kill.

- Don't waste your super on 1 enemy unless it was a crucial kill (controlling a point, game winning kill).

Thanks. I'll try using rockets and learning how to use secondary more. I didn't know crouching kept me off radar. Going to give this a try next time I'm in crucible

1000% this. I think this also explains so many peoples frustration with RNG and all that stuff, it's because no matter what, you literally can't stop playing it. Otherwise, people wouldn't even care. "Ugh! I played all these hours and hours and have less cool stuff to show for it then I'd liked?"

Yeah. But you played hours and hours lol

The UI would be 10x better if it loaded faster. Throw in a toggle for the HUD too so I don't have to spend 20 minutes trying to get the HUD out of a screenshot.

Man 'm really starting to love the Hand Cannon as primary. After a bit of practice and extreme frustration my aim is getting much better and it melts people

The UI would be 10x better if it loaded faster.

The whole game would be way better if it loaded faster

The soundtrack is mediocre and too laid back. There were really no moments where the music had any impact on my experience.

The UI is slick..but its lacking in function. Where the fuck are the basic Audio options and I dunno, in game chat options?

Plenty of holding square at point A, fighting wave, moving on to point B, holding square, more waves, bullet sponge boss and MAP CLOSING. The missions in the game are where the FUN is lacking..

Exactly. That's why I don't get all the complaints about the loot and needing light to level up past twenty. Just play, have fun! You'll get there eventually.

Yeah your actual in-game performance doesn't seem to matter... At all. Like, being at least in the top 3 or even doing objectives doesn't seem to influence anything at all. It's just a strange and silly drop system that it's actually infuriating because of how 'fair' Bungie is trying to make it seem
It's actually the same system you see on CSGO. It keeps people playing the game and not quitting when they are doing poorly.

Not at all. It is just obvious that you have been Team Bungie from the get go. Which is fine. I have yet to see you partake in any discussion around the many criticisms many people have been discussing.

Dude, that was a really rude response you wrote, and really uncalled for. I've written plenty of criticisms about Destiny from the pre-alpha to retail release. Whether or not you are able to catch and read my criticisms is, frankly, not up to me.

I feel like there's a happy medium between rewarding good players and rewarding randomly. Right now it's all way too random.

Wow, I thought it was exceptional. It's the most impressed by a soundtrack I've been in ages.
