It's a mistake to conflate intelligence with charisma. Musk doesn't represent himself well in social settings, but his business track record speaks for itself.

Musk just won the US presidency with his candidate. You think he was the only player in this game? Gates lost. Next up: German elections. Gates' candidates don't seem to do very good. Musk's candidates are on the rise.

These 0,01% elites usually have their own personal PR teams. Gates definitely has. Musk often does it freestyle. But that doesn't take away from his business skills and global influence. Musk is operating on such a high level in our civilisation, I'm actually surprised he is interested in us NPCs at all. "What a loser, I feel sorry for him" - no, you're so focused on your personal dislike of hin that you can't see the bigger picture.

I always thought the biggest advantage of Elon Musk is that people are so used to being lied to by communication professionals that they don't know how to handle a global elite person who doesn't give a fuck at all.

That's correct, he did that. But when it goes to Elon, he is more or less saying, that he invented all that stuff and knows everything about it. In reality he just knows how to hire the right people.
Elon is a lot like Trump in that regard. He can't accept that he doesn't know or can't do something. And instead of just saying that he isn't an expert in everything he lies instead and does like he is the best of the best in that topic.

Next things Elon does is buying the games company to manipulate the database so he is in the top 10.

  • Saint Musk claimed he's ranked among the top players in the world on a very grind-heavy, early access game
  • Does a live streaming touting the fact, it becomes very obvious he hasn't played the game, let alone any ARPG at all
  • Hilarity ensues
  • YouTube roach Asmongold (or, as per Steve from GN, Assmongol) cannibalizes content for the views
  • Then there's some back and forth in ex-Twitter
How did anyone but Musk fuck up here? How did Assmongol (yes, I like it) both work with Musk and fuck up. If there's a language barrier please tell, I'm ESL so I get it, but really. What are you trying to say?

I called this a while ago when he made this claim about being some top ranked Diablo player or something.

By default as many of you know, I don't rarely believe or buy into anything at face value, I need more info and for me to believe you, I need much more then, oh you fucking got a profile and an account. Ok, you could have bought that, paid someone to level up for you etc

Before I even post anything about a thread, I'd even google to see if its true, how to verify this info etc. You can't make me believe shit off of a picture or a claim of anything lol

The whole Mars obsession is so stupid. Yes, we can get to Mars. We already have, with orbiters and landers/rovers. Getting humans there is just a matter of scaling things up, even if it would be a massive undertaking and cost a fuckton that would be better spent elsewhere.

But once there, then what? "Hurr durr, nuke the poles" says Musk - that wouldn't help, but even if it would create a temporary atmosphere, it wouldn't last one bit. Mars has no magnetic field anymore, it would get blown away by the solar wind (which is exactly what has happened before, hence practically no atmosphere nowadays). It would be like creating a Moon base, but far more costly and impractical. And in the case of an emergency, recovery missions to Mars will take months instead of days when compared to the Moon.

...which is why Elon should lead the way to Mars and be on the first mission, if one were ever to happen. For the rest of us, I suggest we try to maintain this planet as habitable as we can, because we ain't going anywhere else soon.

He seems incredibly thin skinned, petty and driven by a need to self aggrandise, insecurity and feelings of inferiority, and cannot rationally respond to being caught in a lie that was unnecessary, ridiculous and childish would be my guess.

The idea that he's seriously involved in any of his companies, beyond doing the promotion and marketing is obviously nonsense. Aside from anything else, he has too many companies to be fully across them, let alone while putting time into arguing on social media, playing any amount of video games at all and now getting ready to take a job in the American government (🤯).

It must be a curse working on projects for him because on the one hand you would get to work on some interesting things but on the other you'd never get recognised for your work and achievements and also know that at any moment Musk might appear and say "scrap that, I need the car/rocket/whatever to be called Megatron and have a robotic hand mounted on it with a fully opposable thumb so it can give me a thumbs up in next weeks press conference." Totally unrelated: earlier that day, Elon had tweeted that the human hand was a perfect design, then needlessly told James Cameron he was a fucking idiot when Cameron friendlily explained why undersea exploration vessels don't have tools that mirror human hands.
 
Wasn't everyone just convinced Elon Musk was pretending to be some guy on X only for that to be proved fake? Either way, there's no doubt Musk is a weird autist in some ways - but that's also what makes him able to achieve great things.

Also I've noticed that almost every decision he makes ends up being right - even when they seem obviously wrong. Like even with buying Twitter, he has basically done everything he set out to do. Or backing Trump before anyone was willing to do it. The dude is definitely some kind of genius. I mean it if was just Tesla, or just SpaceX, or just Neuralink, or just xAI, you could maybe write his achievements off as some kind of fluke. But there's just too much success there.

That's just not true - do you really think it's coincidence that everything he gets involved with is wildly successful? There have been at least two authoritative biographies written on him that clearly outline how much he is involved in every aspect of his companies. Even Tesla, which people like to take credit away from him because the company already existed - it was just a name before he arrived. He built it from the ground up. Recently, the head of Nvidia, was just in awe of Musk for the way in which he set about creating the world's largest AI supercomputer in a short space of time. I mean all this info is out there, angry Musk dudes.

Just because he's a succesful businessman, does not make him a genius.

We see what happens when "successful businessmen" go into space - it's called Blue Origin. SpaceX is a little bit different. It's fine for you to not like Musk - he clearly has some issues - but let's be honest about his achievements at the same time.

I have some respect for him, because of those ventures like SpaceX. However I do not think the man is a genius. Geniussus do not lie about being 'the best gamer' and then hire someone who plays the games for them so he can pretend it's his account.

Blue Origin is a good example of how Musk succeeds but also shows he's not the genius behind the companies. Blue Origin were going nowhere with an ex-engineer from NASA leading the project and Bezos got frustrated, moved closer to it and installed a different team. Since then they've moved quickly and are suddenly on-track.

I'll give Musk credit for putting good teams in place and he seems like he has a talent for that which is impressive. Gwynne Shotwell and Tom Mueller (who has now left) pushed the vision technically though and deserve to be recognised for it.
