i have to try this with the wheel this weekend. as of now though, not sure i'll be picking it up. handling is dull, even on dirt. the offroad sections are as wide as a highway and nearly as smooth.
Horizon is a different game on a wheel.
how different? I havent had a chance to try it out
Horizon is a different game on a wheel.
Yeah try it with the wheel. It's unbelievable how much better the game is with it.
It's like the game rewards people who play with a wheel. Feels great.
Sounds like you're being negative just to be negative.
Yeah, I'd say they haven't optimised it at all for controllers. Having sound and vibration (the two biggest things you use to judge traction in a driving game... at least, on a pad) noticeably muted really fucks things up. I might try with the speed wheel thingy tonight, but given how damn difficult MS have made it to get any kind of FFB wheel at a semi-decent price, I'd say they've targeted the wrong crowd (controller-wise) with the demo.Unlike Forza 4 the road surfaces can really be felt through the force feedback, there's almost a constant pull or nudge from the steering as you travel over bumps, at speed you really need to keep your wits about you. Driving over dirt is as rough as Sega Rally was, the wheel is always kept busy.
Oversteer correction is another thing, a flick of the stick on a joypad and you are pointing in the right direction again, that Mustang is a fucking pig to drive but you can feel what it is doing a lot of the time, most of the problems I have with it is over correcting slides. It's fun.
Welcome to Forza "community".I got this feeling with a lot of people around here...
Welcome to Forza "community".
no kidding. good to hear.
Come on now. Marketing teams bring this upon themselves. The expectations for this game were set by Turn 10 and Playground, not the wild imaginings of onlookers.Heh, not only with Forza, but it seems that people focus and come up only with the flaws, even if it's not a real flaw. Or, in some cases, there is this flaw, it's not something that you have to deal all the time or is not that big, but people act like "OH MY GOD, THIS THING IS GONNA GIVE ME CANCER"
If people stop fantasizing the perfect game, and enjoy the game for what it is (just like we did before the internet with the SNES and Genesis [or Mega Drive]) they will be happier gamers...
Personally, it feels more like PGR than Forza to me. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing.Come on now. Marketing teams bring this upon themselves. The expectations for this game were set by Turn 10 and Playground, not the wild imaginings of onlookers.
Left to my own wishes I just wanted something better than TDU at its own game, and this game provides that for me, so its all good. But its not dismissive to wonder why this game is a Forza title, and just what is meant by 'Forza DNA' and 'Forza authenticity'. If its not the underpinning physics and driving feel then what is it?
He's talking about the Rennsport wheel stand.
I've noticed the linearity issue with the wheels and Xbox, what settings do you use?
If WRC 3 demo has a way of checking it out I'll download it.
Sideways or back and forward?
In WRC3 it requires taking the linearity slider to the left 2 notches. No options for it in Forza and the linearity setting on the wheel(PWTS) twists the linearity in the wrong direction.
Ive been just cruising the the map for the last few hours.
any word on if you'll be able to changing driving difficulty in the full game?
If you could change it in the demo, then I see why not...
Be a man insteadBack and forward. I have tightened the screw with the power of ZEUS, but it still rocks back and forth. It wasn't that noticible until I got the shifter, and now it's a huge annoyance. I would probably use the wheel more often if it was rock steady. Its one of the reasons I haven't upgraded to the csr elite wheel, that thing is much bigger and can already see a potential issue. I'm almost tempted to look for an alternative solution.
oh haha oops just found that option. hurrrr
Totally agree. My fears from several months ago about the dilution of the Forza brand have been realised. What does 'Forza' now represent in the world of videogames?Come on now. With a controller I still have mad amounts of fun with the demo, maybe I should invest in a wheel though...
I'm assuming that my Logitech wheel won't work with the 360 if I was to buy one and that I would have to purchase another wheel for this game?
My body is ready.![]()
(Credit to zorbsie for the awesome flyer!)
You could ask Fanatec for a discount on the csr or csr elite pedals. Are yours still under warranty?Slightly off topic, anyone wants to get rid of logitech pedals ?
My Fanatec set is not working (again) and i was looking for a replacement, but i'm not really willing to spend 200$ on clubsport pedals
In what way? I might have missed some recent news about MW (I've not been following it too closely lately)?. Have EA been making some false claims about it?Do you find Most Wanted as a misdirection as well?
Pr and ads over promising or not being specific about game features? preposterous! In what way? I might have missed some recent news about MW (I've not been following it too closely lately). Have EA been making some false claims about it?
My only complaint is about an inch of wiggle on the center post which for the life of me I cant get rid of.

The trick is to wiggle the post as you tighten the screw.

This sounds like effort is needed. Last thing I want after a 12hr workday is too go home and try and wiggle my thing till it fits in the hole............

But the end result is nothing but satisfaction..
Was any lubrication required when you did it?
Na, with the right amount of force and the fact that it was loose to begin with, the post slips in quite easily..
You can try to find out by measuring the resistance of the pedal potentiometers from the end of the cable and see if the resistance increases/decreases correctly when you move the pedal. You'll need a multimeter for it of course. Not under warranty, but Thomas already offered a small discount for clubsport pedals (still too much, considering how much i'll be using them).
CSR Pedals at 80$ that's not bad at all, i hadn't thought of that option.
i assume they're better than the old standard pedals that came with the TWPS ?
(btw, i hope it's the pedals and not the connector on the wheel side that's giving me problems)
