M-m-maybe y'all are right about TDE. This sounds like it fell off an old Wu-Tang truck.

Sway interview with J Cole, plus a YG interview

Pretty cool to see Cole winning. I've felt some type of way about dismissing FHD so quickly and went back to it recently. It definitely has some dope songs - if you like his mixtapes, which most of us did, there's really no reason for you not to like songs like January 28th or 03 Adolescence. Still the album has a variety of problems to me, specifically production wise. Dude needs to just admit the L and have someone else handle his drums.

Cole is definitely the one I want to see win out there. I'm not a real fan of his rapping or anything like that, but he comes from my school of rap, and clearly has a good head on his shoulders. I'm happy to see him selling out MSG and going platinum without all the extra industry BS. Good interview.

Led zeppelin had more ghost writers than Drake.

true but you really don't wanna tug this line in classic rock fam

The Doors (S/T) > Any Beatles record.

talk to em

Billie Preston > Stevie wonder

what? FOH

Happy early pop beatles is solid but meh

Later beatles ftw

Ringo the coolest beatle

aka Beatles went up exponentially when Dylan put them onto good drugs

Morrison had a grating voice.
So says the Danny Brown stan

your mother had a grating voice stop it five

This. He's also pretentious af. I still think their self-titled is decent.

It bleeds into his music. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't.

of course you think this
wait don't you ride for ye dude

FHD had a few more outside producers (!llmind, Cardiak, Vinylz, Willie B), but his first two CDs as well as as all of the mixtapes were pretty much all him.

And while a guy who puts in the work behind the mic and boards is admirable, he really could use more variety and style in the beats he chooses to rap on. No I.D. is his big homie and he has Jay on speed dial, surely he has access to the best producers in the world. He should tap into them more on his future projects.

Yea. At this point we pretty much know a Cole album is gonna be 60% string sections and soft drums. He experimented a bit on FHD, there's some trap influences...but overall I agree he needs to try something new.

The Who are also kinda overrated. Bob Dylan is annoying some times. Queen is played out to the point that I wanna shut off there hits as soon as they come on, Jimi Hendrix wasn't that great of a songwriter, every AC/DC song sounds the same, Led Zeppelin is cool but making through complete albums is a chore, Aerosmith is bubblegum bullshit with nice melodies and cornball topics, Pink Floyd kicked out the only truly genius member of their band within the first few years of their inception.

The Who's best album was that one with baba o reilly and also i liked their concept albums. Can't really listen to that band now though.

80s/early 90s U2 > Queen tbh. Tho I've grown up to appreciate Joy Division >>> both.

King Crimson > Pink Floyd (with or without Syd) but Wish You Were Here is the best album of either imo.

Rolling Stones > Beatles > Led Zeppelin too while we're doing this dust-bowl ranking

I agree with most of this. Queen is still legendary in my eyes, can't hate.

Pink Floyd is overrated as fuck.
