Gotta stick up for Jonesy, man. That, and the game is good. That team has worked their tails off to try and keep things alive there, and to change things up consistently. I've played on and off for quite some time (my son got me into it), to the extent that I ground "all the things" one season, we were so into it. He's trying to get me back in (he just started playing again after seeing the new Season, and the attractions it had), and I just might. Samus in Fortnite would probably be the defining factor to get me back in (He wants the Kratos skin, even though he's many years away from touching one of the God of War games).I've been good since spawn. I do like that parents can enjoy Fortnite with their kids. That is a nice story. I really don't have anything against the game per my earlier post. I honestly don't care anymore.
First, because I only play Animal Crossing since the release and from Nintendo, I want just a new Advance Wars or Fire Emblem.
Second, they hurt the Direct brand with these awful "Partner Showcase", so I have 0 expectation for the Directs.

I haven't had much time to play Doom Eternal yet. I played the first level and stopped until after work. It seems good. I haven't done a back to back comparison, but it plays just about as good as Doom.I mean... Doom Eternal released today... we could go back to that.
A new Advance Wars would be fun. Also, I agree with your "Partner Showcase" comments. The Directs used to be special. They've been diluted with the mediocre showcases and Indie Directs.

I understand. I doubt we see another Advance Wars unfortunately. It would be nice though. I am anticipating a new Fire Emblem remake or something of the sort in the next 18 months.
As far as the directs go, I think we saw a lot of independent decisions made across the industry with every publisher and hardware manufacturer chopping up their E3 events into smaller segments. It was probably easier for Nintendo to coordinate their reveals and their third party reveals separately. Assuming the world returns to normal I think we will see a return to the regular direct format.

Heck, I'll get myself in trouble, but I even liked the immensely disliked Troll & I. Had fun, bugs and all, with my son. I don't really think there is a game that I've played that I haven't gotten some enjoyment out of. Gaming in general is what I love, and the vast majority of games have something that I enjoy in them.
Not all genres are my favorites, mind you. Horror isn't my thing (part of the reason I'll likely not pick up most RE games... the most I've been able to do is get to the third chapter of Bendy... and that's certainly tame in comparison, I think)... and a lot of FPS isn't either, though I've played a few over my time. Again, to some degree, it's finding what you enjoy in a game, or if you don't find fun, understanding and moving on. Would certainly help most of the gaming industry to realize, and not get so worked up over things... that and not take other people's opinions as a personal affront or attack on their interests. (Again... that's not here... but I see a LOT of that in other forums I frequent... a quick search of twitter and youtube will show you that in a heartbeat... combined with the other forum that shall not be named... and certainly falls in line with the Harry Potter shall not be named as well...

I think that a new Fire Emblem in the next year and a remake (probably Genealogy...) a year and half after that.
And since Hitoshi Yamagami said this, I lost all my hopes for a new Advance Wars.
Yamagami is a producer from Nintendo and he clearly do not know what made AW such a beloved series in the West.

Hnnng I missed the E3 style hype energy this year.
Weren't there rumors of another Echoes-style remake on the 3DS that got shuffled off into Switch land not long ago? I hunch that if that were true we'd probably see a remake before a new game. Not that it makes much difference to me either way, I'm one of the assholes who only got into the series with Awakening.
Is NoA still woke? They hit peak wokeness around FE Fates when Allison Rapp was at Treehouse, but it seemed to quiet down a bit after they fired her for being an actual prostitute lol.

I think we get a 2D Metroid in 2021. I imagine Prime 4 is on track for late 22 or early 23. We've all been speculating that they are holding onto the Prime trilogy to get people excited for 4. I think a 1 year gap between the Prime trilogy and 4 would be the perfect length of time. Similar to what I anticipate they are trying to do with Age of Calamity and BOTW sequel.
If Zelda gets ports, BOTW sequel, along with a smaller eShop title AND Metroid has a 2D release + Prime Trilogy on top of Bravely, SMT, Pokemon, etc then next year will be wild.
Yeah, I don't imagine Advance Wars would move enough units to really warrant the investment. They should look into smaller releases though. They could put out a nice eShop Advance Wars title on little more than an indie budget.
A new FE before a remake? I'd certainly be up for that. Either way I'm in. I hope everyone has fair warning though-a big Geneology remake will result in some really long posts from me.

This year was the the first year in Switch's lifetime where we didn't get a new Nintendo IP (ARMS in 2017, Labo/Sushi Striker in 2018, Astral Chain/Ring Fit Adventure in 2019),we'll probably get something new in 2021. Might be a new casual game though.

FE remakes never sold well (well, we have FE3 that is a remake from the first game + its sequel), it would make sense to try a new one now instead of a remake. The funny thing is that a couple of months ago, in Fire Emblem Heroes (the phone game) there was a character in their description was something like: "Game: Fire Emblem Echoes - Binding Blade". Since then, I think that the next remake will be one of the GBA games.
Just last month, they made an ad with - it seems - a gay couple. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but they DISABLED the comments in this video. Just in this one.
Anyway, they need to be more than a mere PR branch. Heck, even the marketing branch is 3rd party. I miss Arakawa days of NoA.
