Finally picked up the pro controller mostly because I was tired of swapping joycons in and out. After testing it out for a bit I have to say that I greatly prefer it over using joycons for games that use more traditional controls.

Joycons are fine, but I can't imagine using them over a pro controller. Feels great to use.

I’ve been playing Fire Emblem. It’s really basic and the repetitive music is a bit annoying, but I just love turn based strategy games. I’m enjoying it.

I was lucky and caught a CE on Amazon last week and it showed up a day early so I had a chance to play it last night even though I have so much studying to do for finals. Really digging it so far too! It is a bit clunky and slow, but it's an NES game so I'm not too surprised there. At least so far though the gameplay is holding up pretty well. I enjoy the nice little quality of life touches they added to make this game a bit more palatable. I've played all the localized Fire Emblems and a fan translation of Mystery and Binding Blade so I have a pretty good grasp on the series already. Hopefully they use this as a reason to go ahead with the other games that never have made it here. I've always wanted to get into the SNES games and I know there are fan translations for those too, but I really much prefer playing on a console when I can. Really enjoy the goodies in the CE though the art book is nice and the crystal NES cart they added was a nice touch. Side note: I'm really happy it was a digital code for the game because I've been almost entirely digital on the Switch so far (except Ring Fit, which just sits in the game slot so that's not horrible). I wish more CE at least gave the option of a digital download instead of a copy of the game. I'm happy that this happened and that Nintendo has been releasing a lot more of these type games recently (Earthbound Zero, Star Fox 2)

Is Nintendo ever going to do Directs again or are they like "Nah, we so rich now bitch, you get what you get."

When they have more certainty they will. The advantage of doing Twitter announcements and Partner showcases is that it gives them much more flexibility. If an announcement needed to be delayed, they could just push back the tweet or save the game for next month's partner showcase (I think this is what happened with Bravely Default 2).

Getting back to the topic of new Smash characters, how do we not have a Resident Evil playable character? The series is pretty big and they’ve done a lot of games on Nintendo consoles. I’d like to see it.

I’ve thought about it a few times. I think Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy make the most sense and in that order if they were only to choose and give one

Jill is the the lightest and the most acrobatic as we’ve seen in RE5. I can see her as a more athletic version of Zero Suit Samus with a gun and grenades like Snake

Chris Redfield would probably play similar to one of the Street Fighter characters given his elite hand to hand combat skills, strength. Also an expert marksman so he would of course have weaponry

Leon is the best of both worlds, and probably the most entertaining character in the series given his personality. Plus, everyone has played Resident Evil 4 it seems. I would prefer they stay out of Smash if they aren’t done right but of course I would love to see them in the game and be incredible characters there too. I especially would love to listen to the Resident Evil music they would put towards the OST. There are some good options to choose from but they’d probably have to remix a lot of them

You should see him with the difficulty modifier that gives him extra abilities. Its ridiculous.

There's only a few third party characters I would want and they're pretty unlikely. I'd definitely prefer if they pulled from their own catalogue.
