(Literally me) Happy Kwanzaa.
The sooner you can get tools to explore your whole island the more rocks you'll be able to access. Same with using your NMT trips; some islands will need the ladder to navigate to all the rocks. Make sure you dig two holes to keep yourself from getting knocked backwards every time you strike the rock that way you can get all 8 items.

Bought Star Ocean: First Departure R on the E-shop sale. Star Ocean is one of my guilty pleasure series. It's kinda mediocre compared to other, more famous jrpg-franchises but I like it. It's charming. I first discovered SO with the Second Story during the mid 90s, so it's gonna be fun reliving my teen years with this first installment. Switch is such a good retro machine. It's just brimming with nostalgia.

Star Ocean 1 and 2 are like, some of the best RPGs on their respective (original) systems. After 2 it went downhill though, but that remake is great yeah, well worth a pickup for anyone looking for an actiony JRPG.

Happy new year!

So, I’ve never played Smash in my life and got this strange impulse to try Ultimate out but am still heaitant because I’m not sure if it’s for me.

I love fighters, always have, my faves being SC, Mk and samsho, but I never seem to get much mileage out of the ones I already have for various reasons.

I see Smash Ultimate is packed with content but I hope that content is also fun to go through.

Tldr: Sell me on Smash guys.

I'm watching for a deal on the PSN as well, I saw a decent one not so long ago but didn't pull the trigger which I regret now.

I personally would rather have it on the Switch as I like playing it handheld (my other games machine is a pc so your needs may be different). Still, the key thing is to get the game because it’s too damn good.

Looking for the Switch OT thread but can't find it so I'll ask here.

I want to buy an SD card for my Lite. Will any SD card work without voiding the warranty or do I have to use a Nintendi officially licensed SD card?

This is the switch/Nintendo OT. It does not have to be Nintendo licensed. Just be wary of knockoffs on amazon. Try to stick with scandisk.

Nintendo recommends the following MicroSD cards:
  • UHS-I (Ultra High Speed Phase I) compatible
  • Transfer speed 60 - 95 MB/sec (the higher the transfer speed, the better gameplay experience on Nintendo Switch)
Choose a known brand with high transfer speed and you should be okay. SanDisk has some Nintendo themed SD cards, but they're not really any different from their normal ones, except for the price of course.

Guess I'll look over Amazon for a reasonably priced one.

Gonna be going to the Walmart Super Store tomorrow to buy necessities so should I wait until then to pick up an SD card or look on Amazon? If anyone's got a link to a reasonably priced but good card on Amazon feel free to send a link.
