The OST of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate alone is worth the full price imo. If you love fighting games, and you've never played any of the SSB games then you should to get this and give it a try. The Classic and Adventure mode will keep you busy for a long time probably 45-60 hrs if you want to fight everything with every character and aim to unlock all the content. I had to grind through Adventure mode with the sole purpose of unlocking the music tbh, wasn't a huge fan of what they did there, but I do like Classic mode a bit. The competition online is the best part about the game, there are some amazing players out there. I have a Zelda main on my friend's list who's played this game for about 2.2k hours and his/her Zelda is unbelievable. Seeing all the Nintendo characters + others and enjoying the soundtrack is the best aspect for me. I got really into it for a while and got super competitive but decided to play most single player games. If you have people around often or are competitive and like playing online the game is going to grow on you quickly, you'll get better and better. Most people play hundreds of hours with this game; think I'm at like 400 something hours. Very well made fighting game. Only two things I would have hoped for is for them to have brought back the little history or short summaries of all the collector items (in this game they're Spirits) as well as the ability to jump into spectating a match the moment you enter an arena for online play (you have to wait until the match is over)Happy new year!
So, I’ve never played Smash in my life and got this strange impulse to try Ultimate out but am still heaitant because I’m not sure if it’s for me.
I love fighters, always have, my faves being SC, Mk and samsho, but I never seem to get much mileage out of the ones I already have for various reasons.
I see Smash Ultimate is packed with content but I hope that content is also fun to go through.
Tldr: Sell me on Smash guys.
So I accidentally beat Sunshine. I chased a Mario for a Shine and when I returned to Delfino Plazo, it was flooded. The game lead me to the final level. Feels a bit abrupt. On to Galaxy!
Played some of the Crash Team Racing trial, my overall impression is that it's good but not beginner friendly and could be a bit grindy.
Overall, I think it's good, but the big issue for me is the drifting, I'm wondering what others think of the racing tbh.
Go for 120 shines and question your life choices on a few of them or you haven't fully completed Sunshine. It's not a game, it's an epiphany.

Let's see how well I do.
Nintendo doesn't put any work at all into Pokemon and Smash Bros. Those are made by Game Freak and Bandai Namco.Just a few points/rant with the current state of Nintendo:
I know there are rabid fans of Animal Crossing, Pokemon and Smash Bros but I'm sick of hearing about/seeing them as if
they're the only games Nintendo works on.
I'm not a fan of those three franchises so it's especially frustrating to see the heaps of backing/work Nintendo puts into those games
while other I.Ps they own languish.
I've also grown very impatient with Nintendo. I haven't played my Switch in like 6 months. Obviously with 2020, the pandemic screwed
Nintendo good but damn they've basically stuck their heads in the sand and forgot about the millions of customers who enjoy a more
robust line up instead of AC, SB and Pokemon.
Nintendo, let's get going here. The Switch hardware is beyond dated now(IMO) and needs a powerful refresh(i'd settle for 1080p/60fps) performance
at this point. There's no excuse in today's current hardware situation for a company to be releasing games that are sub 1080p along with shoddy performance.
There refresh needs to hit 1080p/60fps per game, every game at a minimum.
F-Zero, Pilot Wings, Wave Race, Star Fox are basically dead. Yeah, Star Fox on Wii U I know but it seemed like a failed tech demo and wasn't fun to play(my opinion of course).
I mean does anyone else out there feel similar?
I share you frustration, but I don't think the cause of the situation is Nintendo only focusing on certain franchises.Just a few points/rant with the current state of Nintendo:

Retro, MonolithSoft and ND Cube count as in-house too. Plus NST, NERD, iQue and 1UP but those are more support studios.Only games from EPD studios are made in house.
Back to the topic, sometimes they're just not confident to successfully resurrect buried franchises with a solid idea on the overall gameplay gimmick, like Advance Wars.

That's true, though rarely they don't have any kind of intervention from EPD studios themselves, and most of the projects would only get greenlitted from them.Retro, MonolithSoft and ND Cube count as in-house too. Plus NST, NERD, iQue and 1UP but those are more support studios.
That was their first ever game I believe, back when they were Brownie Brown.Man, 1UP! That takes me back to reading Nintendo magazines and loving a GBA title called Magical Vacation that sadly never got localized. It looked very similar to Super Mario RPG.
Yes there's almost always someone from EPD to act as a producer or generally keep an eye on things. Its quite different to how Western development is done. That's true, though rarely they don't have any kind of intervention from EPD studios themselves, and most of the projects would only get greenlitted from them.
Have you tried one of those games? A year ago I didn't care for it either, but a friend forced a copy on me so I kinda had to play it with him, and I quite like it now. Looking forward to Rise.I think I'm the only man in existence that does not care about MH.
I tried all of them. My "friends" always forced me to try them and I hated them after a week. World is the last MH I played and I'm sooooo done with that series that handles worse than Code Vein.Have you tried one of those games? Still, we don't know much about the rest of this year's line up. Hopefully Nintendo does an early direct in february or march that outlines things. It was so good when they just announced everything upfront when the Switch reveal event happened. I wish they'd do that more often. They probably won't though.
Nintendo have been slow as fuck releasing games. If you didn't like animal crossing then 2020 offered nothing at all. Pokemon sword fucking sucks and is the worst RPG I've played in at least the last 5 years. The joycons feel like trash tier fisher-price knockoffs, no friends list functionality, sub native resolution games. The switch had BotW, an ok 7/10 zelda and fuck-all since.Just a few points/rant with the current state of Nintendo:

I'm sorry but just play other games that are in your interests, Switch platform or not. Not enjoying the Switch? Sell it.Nintendo have been slow as fuck releasing games. I have only every played the Generations demo. Some gecko or something beat me up. I turned it off. Maybe I should give it another shot.I think I'm the only man in existence that does not care about MH.
That was me. I didn't notice too many technical issues (outside enemies falling through objects for example), obviously it's not going to look as good as on the other platforms and the framerate won't be as stable as on PC of course, but it honestly never bothered me.I just finished Okami (on Steam, not Switch, sorry not sorry); and while I still don't really see where it gets all its praise from, it somehow made me really want to play Sakuna.
I remember someone here got it, but I'm not going to go back Hylia knows how many pages to find who that that was, and I'm sure they were not the only one anyway, so, how is the game? Does it run well, or is the Switch version just inferior to the PS4 and Steam?

Not sure about this, but Kingdom Come Deliverance Royal Edition could be heading to Switch next month. Nintendo Japan lists it is an upcoming game...

One of my all time favourites but how the absolute fuck will they get this running on a Switch? My laptop used to be absolutely boiling when playing it.
By the way, I don’t know if there’s much time left on the Crash Team Racing NSO full game free play, but there might be enough (like a day or so?) for you to get a good taste of it. I really recommend trying it — it’s quite fun and Diddy Kong-ish, as someone who never played the PS1 version.

There's a lot of things I could complain about, but the Celestial Brush definitely isn't one. I thought it was an interesting system, and worked very well for me.Okami's style and art always make me want to give it another shot and those desires are quickly quashed by the celestial brush and the combat.

I was playing with a pad, I had to switch to the mouse a couple of times though (drawing the "kami" kanji on the kimono, and... it made drawing the lightning bolt in Gen's tower easier. Also on that goddamn Blockhead Grande, because I needed to hold the phone to watch the video I recorded of its weakpoints at the same time).
