I think the PS+ cards are gone from everywhere but you can still buy PSN cards which AFAIK is the same thing except you can choose where the money goes.Since when? What region?

How do you gloat if you don't have the newest rtx card? Rumor has it that each year you don't upgrade your graphic card, your master peen shrinks. Two years in and you have nothing left UNLESS you have a voodoo 5 card in sli mode which gives you the legendary Chrono Cross of shafts. As long as you're not chasing Nvidia's latest and greatest every year, yeah. It's cheaper.
I paid 67¢ for doon eternal. I got it less than a buckIf you focus on buying games only when they go on sale you'll find the prices are pretty much the same across both PC and console and go on sale, if not at the same time, with the same frequency. To pull one game from your list, Doom Eternal is the same price on Steam and PS Store right now, $10.
If you're uswed to buying new console games full price, then buying old ass PC games during a Steam sale will look like a bargain, but they're not comparable tendencies at all.

Buying and keeping? Yes, absolutely. But reselling/renting is still a thing with consoles. Gotta factor in the returns on that as well. If you only want digital then PC is cheaper, no doubt.
Then fast forward to there are simply too many good deals that you keep buying games till you build a library of 1000+ games and you will never play 95% of them.
You can get a Steam key for 59€ on PC as well. So, I thought this was actually the case as well, but when I look at Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam it will cost me €69, while I could probably pick up a physical PS5 copy for €59…
Yeah because all console games that are sold are only new and 70$. Eat my feet
Or you can buy a key for 45 dollars, mine was 40 because on pc usually the sooner you preorder, the less you pay.So, I thought this was actually the case as well, but when I look at Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam it will cost me €69, while I could probably pick up a physical PS5 copy for €59…
Why 4 controllers though? Now let's calculate with new games bought on release only. My PC cost me 5k+, I mostly buy new games.
PS5 is 500bux, controller 70bux (x4 for estimate) so that's almost 800 bux. I will have to buy like 50 games, which I never do, at full price to match my PC rig (and I didn't count any cost for games purchase for PC).
If we talk about "master race" we talk about top end PCs which "in the long run" (lifetime of console) are still more expensive than consoles.
Of course. And that’s exactly the reason we can’t allow physical to die on consoles.Just wait until you have a huge epic library of free games you never play.
Also there's always great deals on places like humble bundle
It's basic math, you pay more at the beginning but games cost half the price, you don't have to pay for plus to play online and discounts and gifts are much much better than what you fond on console.
Maybe it's not always the case, but it is definitely the case.
That's not true at all. There are literal subreddits that track historical lows for games across different platforms. The difference between steam and other stores like xbl and psn is like sub 5% when tracking historical lows. You can keep telling yourself that to feel better about wasting money.
Apparently since they introduced the tier system. I looked online and cannot find cards either. Some places like cdkeys still has them, but they’re more expensive than the plans on the website.Since when? What region?
Because Steam is the only store? So, I thought this was actually the case as well, but when I look at Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam it will cost me €69, while I could probably pick up a physical PS5 copy for €59…
Funny, I have both all consoles except switch, pc, and steam deck. I don't live in europe but I have heard physical is cheaper than digital. As for TW3 complete for less than $20 bucks on PSN and XBL like a year ago or so. As for North America, it's definitely not the case at all. I don't buy from 3rd party sites because I want all my games to be backed by steam's refund policy. After purchasing some stinkers in the past, I retired from 3rd party sites.Maybe it's not always the case, but it is definitely the case.
Wilds is 80 euros on ps5 and you can find a key now for 45 dollars, i payed less than that so almost half.
A couple of years ago was much better because keys were even cheaper (i payed 18 euros for witcher 3 key) but keys are always gonna be more cheap than buying on a physical shop if you want to play the game at day one.
I can probably get 10 euros less if i buy from amazon or ebay but you can forget to play the game at day one most of the times, with keys you don't have this problem, you pay less and play when the game unlock for everyone at day one.
But good luck trying to convince people that have both a console and a pc like me that you pay the same money on console for games at day one, you are gonna need it dude
For witcher 3 i was talking about the launch in 2015 dude...Funny, I have both all consoles except switch, pc, and steam deck. Some PC dudes are delusional. I was thinking of upgrading from a 7800x3d to a 9800x3d. Price is basically $700 after taxes over here for the 9800x3d. PC gaming is not cheaper than console. To get a machine that is as powerful as a console costs notably more than a console. The PS5 digital is on sale here for $479. A 7600xt which is slightly worse than the ps5's GPU is $400 after taxes. Even a ps5 level pc will cost almost 2x more and that's if you get rubbish parts. If you get actual parts that'll last you a while, the price sky rockets.Steam used to have the most epic sales but as of late they've so shit. Ghost of Tsushima £39.99 - really?
But yes the upfront cost of PC gaming is high.
I've just spent £1500 upgrading to a 9800X3D based PC. And that is despite using my old graphics card (RTX 4080), case and power supply! If this was a new build this would set me apart £2500.
Lets just say I don't believe you. All I know is that neither CD Keys nor Kinguin had those deals at launch. For witcher 3 i was talking about the launch in 2015 dude...
Pc digital is not noticeable cheaper than console digital where I live, talk less of console physical where you can find used copies. Like I said, I don't use 3rd party key sites. And yes, physical is cheaper than digital...when you buy both on console, because some shops apply a 10 euros discount if you preorder and some ebay vendors do the same.
Pc digital vs console physical? Not a chance, digital on pc if you want to play day one is always gonna be much cheaper than console, full stop.
That's fair, however a refund policy is better than no refund policy. Like I bought Balatro recently because the clowns on here where hyping the game up. Played it, decided it wasn't for me, refunded. If I bought it on PSN or XBL or a 3rd party key site, I'd be stuck with a game I don't want. Developers could release demos but, on the balance of things, it'll actually hurt your sales more times than it would help.I get that you want steam refund, but i watch a lot of footage before buying a game, so usually the type of problems that bothers me usually come out way after the 2 hours you have before asking for a refund, many games don't even really start after 2 hours (and i play a shitload of big games and open worlds.)
It depends more on knowledge of the market, acquaintance with sellers, your bonus points, etc. For example, when metaphor refantazio started at $70, my price with my discounts and taking into account my acquaintance with the seller and the fact that I am a regular customer, in my local store for PS5 was $59.99.Pc digital vs console physical? Not a chance, digital on pc if you want to play day one is always gonna be much cheaper than console, full stop.
Yes. Let’s cap off your pcmr statement with xenoblade chronicles 2. A console only game. Pc is so great
One the many reasons for why PC gaming is fucking great.
Dude in 2015 the prices of key were super low, maybe you don't remember well, i was as surprised as you because i was coming from a long period of console only playing but prices of key on pc were absurd, back in the days i was still buying from suspect sites like kinguin or g2a that had the lowest prices, nowadays i only buy from cdkeys, instant gaming and eneba, they have slightly higher prices but they are more secure.Lets just say I don't believe you. All I know is that neither CD Keys nor Kinguin had those deals at launch.

This is the way to Utopia!

Or i can just buy a steam key at a sensibly lower price than 60 dollars and with none of the fuss...It depends more on knowledge of the market, acquaintance with sellers, your bonus points, etc. For example, when metaphor refantazio started at $70, my price with my discounts and taking into account my acquaintance with the seller and the fact that I am a regular customer, in my local store for PS5 was $59.99.
Keys to games through third-party sites yes, but this is rather the fault of Steam itself and the lack of control over the distribution of keys, this is a very dark market and the origin of these keys is very foggy. If we talk about prices in the stores themselves directly, then options can always be found. Switch yes there are certain problems, but you can find options although it is difficult and the discounts will not be very big, from the advantages of Nintendo games very well retain their price and practically do not get cheaper, and often even become more expensive.Or i can just buy a steam key at a sensibly lower price than 60 dollars and with none of the fuss...
Even with all the knowledge, bonus and acquaintance, you are not gonna find games on console that you can play at day one in a range between 35-45 euros\dollars.
I would love if that was the case because i have 2 console at home (3 if you count the xone i use as doorblocker) but it is not, especially on switch.
