To the people on about playing SH2 (same goes for base PS5 afaik) If you notice the random 3x3 group of white pixels in the top left corner, it's some type of bug that is linked to the UI HDR brightness.

I nearly shit a brick when I saw it and thought my TV was having issues. Naw. It's just shitty Bloober. Even appears on screenshots and PS5 HDR gameplay on YouTube.

Doubt they'll fix it since it seems to of been there at launch.

You console Pheasants are all the same oh RT is useless and adds nothing o the experience when it runs are 30 or is unavailable but once you have it at 60 you love it. Pathetic

FYI, if you're struggling with the noise in COD Black Ops 6:

1. Turn ON 120hz mode
2. Turn OFF world motion blur.

Eliminates the issue entirely.

Dumb question but if i buy a ps portal and connect it to my ps5 pro, when i remote play will it still let me play the ps5 pro modes? (Ie: quality at 60fps mode on demon souls)

The discussion around RT changes as hardware improves.

Even the PC world was apoplectic when the Nvidia RTX2000 series came out, nowadays people who bought into 4000 series are seeing clear improvements via RT and enjoying it.

I expect similar for the console world.

Started playing outlaws yesterday on Pro. Playing in the quality 40 fps mode with fsr. Game looks and runs really great, but it has color banding issues on the sky with FSR. PSSR does look softer and because of the shadow flickering i opted to use FSR instead. I think the old 40 fps quality mode is the best, because its uses higher settings than the new Pro 60 fps quality mode and its a locked 40 without drops unlike the 60 fps mode. So far im really enjoying the game, it looks and feels polished, probably a lot better with the big patches compared to launch

I see the pheasants came down from their perch and responded exactly as I predicted like the spineless coward birds they are.

When I go to bed at night I rest well and peacefully knowing my 4090 can play indianna jones maxed out at 60fps (with DLSS ULTRA PRRFFPRMSNCR AND FAKE FRAME GENERATORR 3.0)

I don't need to play games when I know my PC can handle 15 instances of ableton live with reverb on every channel and PS5 can probs only handle 2.

Pheasants will always be the same.

Aw diddums. I'm sorry that someone stole your rattle at Christmas. Clearly you need help. But I'm not picking up your toys and putting them back in your pram for you. Sorry.

I don't want to spam other threads. Since Wukong is enhanced and I got the physical deluxe copy of it, English or chinese dub ?

Look in the mirror and say those words and I’m certain that you’ll realize you sound like a twat.

This option is honestly the most intriguing part of PS5 pro, I want to try various PS4 games on there and see the effects.
Its meant to only effect 1080p games. But I'm sure its effected higher resolution ones that I looked at. It was very subtle, but I'm sure it made an improvement.

So… started playing silent hill 2 on quality mode. The opening parking lot has been the worst looking so far, with everything boiling like it’s raining. After that, haven’t seen much that’s worth crying about. Some shimmering here and some indirect lighting or shadow flickering there, but nothing that detracts from the moment for me. Most puddles don’t have the same issue later on and most other issues are only when you stand in one place and look for it. Sucks that bloober has left it unaddressed when all they would need to do is disable pssr and bump up the resolution a little with the freed up resources. Game is quite the looker though. Going to keep playing as I don’t feel the visual problems are as bothersome as some of the other bad implementations. Not doing performance mode as some areas get too dark and the “mood” is gone at times when indirect lights are the only source. 30 fps is very smooth compared to Witcher 3, which I’ve been playing in parallel

Has Helldivers 2 actually had a ps5 pro support patch yet? It's not on the official sony list and i haven't noticed any difference in performance or graphics.

The “enhance PS4 games graphics” toggle can be very impressive. Deus Ex Mankind Divided looked quite blurry and grainy and ugly on PS5 using PS4 BC. Now it looks pin sharp on PS5 Pro.

I'm gonna check this out. Would be cool to have a best PS4 enhanced games list.

Booted up Ratchet Rift Apart to grab those 50 points for PS Stars.

Damn, PSRR is really pristine in the 60 fps mode. On original PS5 I played the game in 40 fps mode, I thought the IQ was a little too blurry in performance mode (same with Horizon and GoW).
Ratchet is amazing. I did a NG+ and got all the weapons maxed out.

I feel you on that. The game still looks good a lot if the time but if you pay attention you see something isn't right. It's that "boiling" you talk about ...there is a constant instability with the shadows as if the fog that's outside is casting a shadow inside the games buildings! It produces a subtle but still noticeable " soupy" motion to this mode.

SH2 really just needs what you said ...put the temporal upscaler back into Fidelity mode and use the extra power of the Pro to raise resolution ...I'm pissed off they havn't done this as there's no excuse, having done it for Performance mode but not Fidelity ....and they should be keeping PSSR in there as an option like other games have been doing for people that want it. Who knows maybe improve PSSR in the future ...Bloober seems unable to make logical decisions with this game though.

Now we're into the holidays with no idea of when fixes will be coming if at all and we're going on 2 months of having this messy Fidelity mode.

I didn't play it on either system, was commenting on what the guy said (he deleted so I can't tag him).
sorry I was being lazy not replying to OP...
Apologies also to the OP also if you're reading i probably came across as being a contradictory jerk, I just know from putting over 100 hrs into that game that it was always very sharp.

Yeah I definitely see it. Just choosing to ignore it. The game is that good. It’s shocking that the bones of this game are more than 2 decades old.

I think the only way bloober can have a working version of pssr here is if they implement an RT denoiser of their own or upgrade to UE 5.5. I doubt either is happening. The improvement in denoising quality between 5.5 and earlier is staggering and it solves the exact problem that is exhibited here more efficiently, so that they can increase the lumen quality on the pro and then it plays well with pssr.

The sample above is on 5.3. I believe it was even worse with earlier versions. Brute forcing to epic quality is way too taxing at lower UE versions to be viable for console.

Unfortunately, I see no way they would make such a big jump without breaking a bunch of other things. Only viable fix is to disable pssr and have tsr clean up the messy input.

I’m guessing Sony would eventually come up with their own library (or train pssr to deal with it), that the devs can leverage, but pssr currently doesn’t like noisy input, which other temporal solutions handle perfectly well. I don’t think it’s even rt related. Any noise or low quality input gets worse with pssr. Hence the shadow flickering for certain types of foliage in tlou 2, which has no RT. Completely my armchair hypothesis, of course.

The good news is, I think games built on UE 5.5 or up should play well out of the box with pssr, even with RT
