Media Create Sales: 29 May - 4 June

I make this week having the lowest ever sales for GC, DS, GBM and PS2, the second lowest ever for GBA:SP and GBA (moot by now), the fourth lowest ever 360 and the second lowest PSP total of the year.
Cracking all round. DS:L sales are still bananas.
The Xbox saw > 500% jump though
Couple of milestones,
DS/L > 8.5 million
PSP > 3.5 million
Including US (May NPD inc.)...
DS/L > 13 million
PSP > 8 million

Well same thing, but it hit 3-4k for a week or two back in 2000 with shortages after launch.

DS Lite has fluctuated so much with supply and occasional games like NSMB it's hard to get a good idea of where it goes from here. To go conservatively, I'll say 100K a week. (How weird does that sentence sound a year ago?). PSP at 25K a week. Thus DS Lite would make up the difference at 75K a week, which would close the 1.5 million gap in 20 weeks. Realistically probably a bit quicker, but that would be mid-October.cvxfreak said:

Along those lines, I've got a working bar counterpart to my pie chart thing earlier. Whereas the URL for the pie chart would be like http://joshuajamesslone.name/gamecharting/test7.html?date1=2006-05-29 , the bar is http://joshuajamesslone.name/gamecharting/testbar4.php?date1=2006-05-29 . Of course further along more final versions will have more sensible URLs. GAF doesn't seem to like to display them as images with ? in the URL, but I'll be able to make something like barthisweek.php to work around that for any short term use.
There's a notable similarity between the pie and bar charts as they currently are; they're both made for week-to-week comparisons. With the pie chart I could take the total sales of the week, and calculate a radius for the pie chart so a pixel in one week is the same as a pixel the next. For the bar charts I've made it so it works similarly by height. 1 pixel of height per 1000 sales was too stumpy for small weeks, so it's currently 1 pixel of height per 500 sales. This can result in some really tall weeks, but hey, I like it. It seems appropriate enough that a week of exceptional sales will make an exceptional graph image; it helps to punctuate it.

On a serious note, DS(L) will most likely pass 3m systems sold this year in Japan in the next MC chart, which is just amazing. In 2005 DS passed the 3m mark in the week ending 18 Dec.
