The Flash

Jesus Christ this is one of the worst movies I've seen. Ezra cunt is insufferable, the writing was awful and the CGI looked like it belonged in the year 2000.

Keaton as Batman was awesome, but he could not save this dumpster fire of a movie.

I can't believe Ezra Miller was selected as the Flash.

In fact why do writers think having a nervous wreck of a character who can't stop talking is a good thing?

To wash my brain I immediately followed this movie with The Expendables.

Now this is a goddamn film. Spectacular. Would watch again.

Yes.. it's one of my favorite movies of all time and I never got to see it on the big screen (as I did not know about it until it hit home video).. so being able to catch this was awesome.

I thought all three Iron Mans were good if only because Robert Downey is so much fun in all of them. Yes, we can nitpick the plot but I really enjoyed him on screen in all three movies. Compared to the completely dull characters that make up most of the rest of the MCU, seeing Downey cook is still better than the majority of them.


Probably better but I liked IM2. Had a lot of fun elements. Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, ScarJo looking amazing...it's just a fun film. People nitpick plot details way too much...don't worry about narrative and enjoy the ride. And, hey, Guy Pierce is fun in the 3rd one and the final battle scene is pretty fun and clever. Don't let other people bring this stuff down. If you want some good fun, the Iron Mans work.

I saw this recently as well. I truly don’t understand what DC was trying to accomplish with this era of super hero movies. They were bad. Furthermore, the CW Flash season 1 did a way better job explaining the story of Flash than the movie did.

It was obviously cool to see Michael Keaton as Batman. Using him is such a WASTED OPPORTUNITY. Why not just make Batman Beyond. You only have a small window of time, where this works perfectly.

Truly baffling decision on WB part. It would 1.) give the Batman franchise a chance to cool off and regroup while telling a different story 2.) You could make a character and story that is standalone not having the pressure to tie in to anything. 3.) Allow WB to take chances and make a futuristic Batman movie, where they could go a lot of different ways with it.

I feel like this movie didn't know what it wanted to be. At first I thought he was just a serial killer in a clown costume but by the end he was Michael Myers with some sort of telekinesis powers. There was basically no story, poor acting, cliched horror tropes and characters you didn't care about.

I found this and the sequel just gross for the sake of it with not much else interesting going on. I love horror as well.

Latest Alien

Not a "bad" movie per se, just kind of pointless and cheap-ish made. It took bits and pieces from every other Alien movie, without any kind of twist. The sets also looked pretty bad/fake compared to the Cameron's Aliens ones.

There's nothing particulary wrong with it overall, but probably tied to 3 for the least engaging/interesting of them all.

Wow. It's like you know where it is headed but it does so much more than you can imagine. Absolutely incredible. One of the year's best. The less known going in the better. Wow!

I was entertained. I would've been much more enthusiastic if I've watched this when I was 10 or 11.

Man I could, just like Ex_Machina write an (poor) essay about everything I noticed etc but to keep this short..

Fairy/Fay Folklore. SUCH an awesome theme to explore. That's a given.

Such a fairytale, I mean rabbithole with so much history and anecdotes going way back. Backed up with stories, experiences, the DMT machine elves reach lol.

And hey, the most common anecdotes are those that get lured into a Fay trap and end up entertaining (which the first somewhat second half got into) the Fay whilst partying like God knows. Upon leaving though; the common theme is that they realize years or even a decade+ has passed.

Sure they show some simple ass folklore exposition at the end but all in all a grave miss regarding the source material.

Could've been such a dense trippy AF movie!!

Still. It was what it was.

I'll recommend it to those not that familiar with the theories and anecdotes of the source material and want a well shot and paced scary mystery movie.

My nephew wanted to watch this, and I am not into slasher movies (usually), I originally thought this would be fine. Until I did some quick research and found that ONE SCENE in this movie. I do not like movies with excessive violence against women. That particular scene is a little too much. Needless to say, I didn’t buy this movie for him. I will not watch this movie at all.

I don't mind slowly plodding on to build suspense along with a great payout. Sadly it lacked the latter. What a bummer.

The Wild Robot - Really fun family film. I thought the animation and the story were really good. Nothing to challenge a kid, but it was certainly a heart warming story. But if you get all of these cool robots due to climate change I say let the ice melt.

I finished The Substance. It was a wild movie. I don't know if I can call it a great movie because I never once felt when I was watching "Man... what a movie!" but it was definitely a crazy ride. A couple parts actually had me laughing out loud. Especially the end with the blood squirting everywhere and everyone in the audience freaking out I was like what in the hell is going on.

It's a movie I'll never ever watch again, but enjoyed it.

Duel

Steven Spielberg's first feature-length is a thrilling ride even today. Just proves that road rage has been a thing for pretty much as long as there has been roads with cars. Maybe there was rage even before that..,
Anyway, a faceless villain in a truck trying to kill a normal guy because of unknown reasons works surprisingly well. Maybe I would have extended the ending a little bit more, but otherwise, gripping thriller. Maybe it just felt a bit old since it has not been too long since I last saw it.

Cutthroat Island

The movie that sank Carolco. I know its bad. But I kind of enjoy this movie still. The pacing is very fast, and to be honest the payoff is okay, the final skirmish is rather fun to watch actually and there wasn't much CGI if at all.

But factually its a horrible flick. Davis kind of lacks the screen presence to carry a blockbuster, she tries but is never convincing. Modine though, I wonder why he agreed with this script. He is basically a slave and a cuck, playing clear second fiddle to Davis for the entirety of the movie. He barely does anything of note, save for a few instances where he is helpful. In the end he is the damsel in distress. Its obvious why so many male actors denied this role, especially in 1995. Because it was clear Geena was put on a pedestral, and she was married to Renny at the time.

The movie is a mess, and the dialogue is cringe as fuck. I don't really get the fascination with balls jokes but its in here by spades. However, it does capture that messy, overproduced, colorful 90's movie feel. Judge Dredd and Batman Forever were similar in approach and were released in the same year.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

It's a Ghostbusters film... none of the wit of the first, all the continuous callbacks. It's not a bad film but it's slow, has lots of needless characters and was fairly pointless overall. I had it on in the background so I must have missed the scene explaining how the ghost chick could hang around chatting and the end

and premise of the film sort of make the ghostbuster redundant as the previous group did their job but with actual powers.

The latest chapter in the saga of Finnish private eye solving crimes. Some of the films in this series were quite good, this one was not. The film moves on in quick pace, where it looks like characters end up discovering crucial information off screen. Most of the actors are wooden, and have barely prepared for rheir roles, too. It felt like a long episode of a TV-series. Somewhat entertaining, but certainly not good.
