NFL Off-Season |OT3| Josh Freeman is fat and eats too much food. Fat. Fatty. Fatfat.

It's the worst 5 year stretch in modern football. As bad as bionic rags on the Yorks they have nothing on Georgia Frontiere and her dim-witted progeny. Cheap and stupid. This is Kroenke's first hire, and though his other teams haven't been great, they haven't been bad. George Karl and Arsene Wenger are generally well regarded

Not Jed aye? His dad, whatever, but Jed is a boss.

I recall thinking how amazing that was and being worried about him being in our division :me
I am pretty sure Boller only threw a limp wristed pass like 15-20 feet on his knees, but he was doing such a great job of sucking Billick's minuscule penis that it felt like 50 yards.

Well Jed is very young. Georgia's kids were quite older, tried to run the team from LA, and really had no interest in football. They liked being owners for the cachet of it.

It's not like Jed didn't make a total ass of himself with that letter he wrote during Singletary's reign. But he seems to get it now and killed it with Harbs and Baalke. Harbs is really good but he has to find his franchise QB. I'd actually consider it a negative of he and Baalke's tenure that they haven't worked towards that, unless they think it's Kapernick

Well, it's not like they didn't try with Peyton. I think Kap will be fine if he doesn't need to start until next year - that will be three years under Harbaugh who has shown he can do wonders with QB's (especially young ones).

The Texans were the one team that beat the shit out us when healthy. Your franchise is cursed. They were a really good team last year.

I think they would have made the SB had Schaub not gotten hurt. They still have a window. If he and AJ stay healthy they can win a SB. That defense will be even better unless they catch some really unlucky injuries

They should be a lot better

This season I am actually going to enjoy the games, and stop being so negative. Also the reports early on Llyod have been very good. It looks like he and Brady are already on the same page. I hope that Lloyd can get something like 700-800 yards receiving.

Although this is early here is a snippet from Greg Bedard on a few things

WLB Jerod Mayo has been the best defensive player through three days as he continues to grow into the playmaking role the Patriots have carved out for him.

Mayo has also gotten a lot of praise early. Although I was hard on Mayo last season I still think he has a chance to be a damn good playmaker.

Safety Sergio Brown had another miscue when he took a bad angle and then bumped into CB Ross Ventrone, who was in coverage against WR Jesse Holley.

Cut him please.

Questions for the parents. When your kids are sick, do they just puke on themselves at night? My two year old is sick and this is new, as my five year old is yet to puke. I'm going through like five sets of sheets a night. An I missing something?

Kid just realized he/she's a Ravens fan. Gonna be a long night.

I'm not sure how you can say that Harbs and Baalke didn't try to find a Franchise QB when they tried to land Peyton Manning this offseason. Yea, we have Alex Smith for another year, but he's really not as bad as every one here makes him out to be (I'm biased, I realize). You all do it just to get at FMT. I'm not saying he's a pro bowler, but he's certainly the best QB in the division at the moment (depending on how Flynn pans out). I refuse to believe Bradford amounts to anything behind that atrocious OL, especially with Schottenheimer at OC.

You're indicting Harbaugh and Baalke pretty quickly given we have no idea how much Kaepernick has developed yet. I'm really excited to see him get a lot of playing time in preseason.

Well I don't consider the Peyton recruiting anything other than an attempted short-term fix. And like I said, it could change based on how Kapernick pans out, but I don't think it will. I know you guys love Alex, and while we do make fun to get at FMT, I mean this honestly. If you are a QB and can't beat out Alex Smith in the second year of your career, then you aren't ever going to be a franchise QB

there is no QB in the NFC west that would beat out alex smith for a starting job so our division has a bunch of shitty QB's i guess!

Your team traded away 3 future first round picks, traded and signed for mediocre (at best) receivers, and left a shambled offensive line shambled. Even if RG3 lives up to the hype, he is going to be doing it alone for a while. Not to mention drafting another rookie QB in the 3rd round instead of helping out RG3. Bad spot, bro

On the bright side, though, you have a stellar OLB duo in Kerrigan and Orakpo. Those guys are going to be studs together

Kolb throw two picks in Cardinals scrimmage

Posted by Mike Florio on July 28, 2012, 11:18 PM EDT

AP
At a Cardinals Fan Fest last month, quarterback Kevin Kolb heard the boo birds. At the annual Red and White scrimmage on Saturday, a record crowd of roughly 14,500 was more restrained — despite Kolb’s performance.

According to the Associated Press, Kolb was “heckled a bit by a few in the crowd” after throwing a pair of interceptions. Kolb and John Skelton shared snaps with the first-string offense.

“It all comes out of my hands so it’s ultimately on me,” Kolb said. “That’s the way I’ll approach it and look at it and move forward.”

Receiver Larry Fitzgerald put the blame more broadly on the entire offense.

“I thought we definitely could have executed better,” Fitzgerald said. “That falls on us as players. This is the first week of camp. We’re running our base offense. This is stuff we should be able to do in our sleep. There’s nobody to blame but the 11 of us breaking the huddle.”

Kolb threw a touchdown pass, Skelton didn’t. But Skelton didn’t throw any picks.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt cautioned against drawing any conclusions from their respective performances.

“Kevin was the guy that had the second spot in the rotation today so he was playing with the No. 2 line a lot. In fact, we had a center in there that hadn’t taken any snaps because we had one go down in practice [Friday]. We had some protection issues where he didn’t get a chance to sit in there but he had some dropped balls, too. It’s kind of hard to evaluate it. That’s why you don’t make snap judgments when you’re doing this with the quarterbacks.”

Frankly, the fact that Kolb had the second spot in the rotation seems more alarming than his performance.

Then again, maybe Whisenhunt simply wanted to insulate Kolb from the indignity of being greeted by boos.

You guys really need to get rid of Shanny, though his offense is actually well suited to RG3. But otherwise I think he's not that great a coach anymore. I also feel there's way too much pressure on Griffin. Skins fans are expecting too much from a rookie

And goldie, the Redskins "only" gave up two future #1s plus their 2012 first and second round picks

I just got to thinking, is allowed in nfl to do like nba. where you can protect you pick. like in nba you can say hey you get my first if i dont get a lotto pick, if i do you gotta settle for something else. like could nfl team be like you get my first if its 11th or lower..ect. I know of the player production conditionals but not sure on just straight up protecting said pick based on team success or failure

Looks like more 2011 NFL Yearbook vids are starting to make their way onto YT. Here's the Niners one:

Comparing Harbs to Walsh and Smith to Montana and Young... haha

I always like the hyperbole in these videos. The "gold dust" reference made chuckle.

I saw the same thing, SMH. His feet are fucking made of glass, I swear to god. At least we aren't thin at WR, so it's not like we have to rely on him.

He doesn't like to work out in the pre-season. He'll always be "hurt."

I have to imagine that if this were allowed we would have seen an instance of it already, even if it didn't involve a high pick.
