ghost sold worse than BO2 actually.COD stil sitting at #1 just shows how little influence the "gaming media" has over people's purchases. They roasted that game, almost every one of them, yet it's still on top. I love that.

Some people are so eager to anoint Infamous PS4's champion to go up against Titanfall. That's like Troy sending Hector to battle Achilles, but they chopped off one of Hector's hands first. The marketing for Titanfall is insane! I'm confident the Xbone version alone is going to absolutely smash Infamous in next month's NPD, and dare I say it will even outsell it worldwide. PS4 may be dominating in worldwide sales, but I don't think it will be enough to overcome Titanfall's monstrous tie ratio. Infamous is just not being positioned to be that sort of absolutely-must-have title for PS4. And that's okay. PS4 is selling well enough without needing to spend tens or hundreds of millions marketing any single title.
Regarding talk about potential lost PS3/PS4 sales of Titanfall EA incurred by selling-out to Microsoft, I have no idea what those companies' internal math says. It may have sold more simply by being available to a larger installed base. But I don't think it would have been that much more. First of all, if it was multiplat, Microsoft wouldn't be putting all that marketing money behind it. It would just be another multiplat FPS that goes up against COD, BF, KZ, etc.. It may sell well on its own merits after people experience it for themselves and sell it to their friends on it, but it wouldn't have that pre-launch frenzy it enjoyed as a hyper-marketed exclusive. I also think the 80+ million installed base of PS3 doesn't mean much. I think Titanfall PS4 would have actually outsold the PS3 version. I would have expected it to absolutely flop on PS3. Poor sales of late gen PS3 titles, even GT6, have shown that many gamers have moved on. I don't think an online-only multiplayer FPS that would have almost assuredly been the worst-performing version of the game would have sold well on PS3.
Well, Titanfall is not being marketed just by Microsoft. It's a combination of both EA and Microsoft. That's why the marketing campaign is so huge, bigger than any single game I can think of. So, take the current marketing and subtract Microsoft's contribution from it and you have whatever marketing money is left from EA. Like I said, it would be going up against the likes of COD and BF, two multiplat FPS, with one being from EA. BF4's marketing was big but no where near Titanfall's.Agree on Infamous but disagree on the bolded. It's still EA. You think EA would not have made a shitton of Marketing/Ads/PR without MS???
Do you know how DK diud digitally vs retail?
I somewhat feel bad for not buying any of these yet. I'll probably buy one as soon as I'm done with DKCTF.LTD for Wii u fanboy
Rayman ~ 99k
MH3U ~ 97k
S:LW ~ 94k
TW101 ~ 65k
No one knows, Nintendo didn't give any percentage. Given it's been tracked for a week + digital sales seem to be far lower than 3DS for retail release, I suppose 120k were sold at retail...
Almost hit the nail on the head
Lets have some perspective here. It's not like the PS4 did worse. Still in a virtual sell out shipping more consoles for the month than anything thought. Just the XB1 did better than anticipated.
Maybe people will shut up about lol consoles doomed mobile only future now.
wait....if you know how it did, why ask?
or am I missing something
PS4 did better than people thought, Aquamarine had people in the prediction thread thinking the PS4 wasn't even going to sell 200k along with the Xbone
MH 3DS ~ 240K now
LOL IGN:
Looks like someone corrected Mitch Dyer work. Correction, they only corrected it on the front page or when you click on the article. It still has the original title before you click on it in the Xbox One section but it's no longer on the front page and PS4 section. The same guy that said you can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080p unless you have a 60 inch TV or bigger.
Also:
Microsoft to be 'Direct and Honest' With Fans (IGN)
I'm sorry, but IGN is looking more biased everyday.
That IGN headline is so sad, I want to say that they're paid off but they gave Titanfall an 8.9 and not a 9.8 like Halo 4. Maybe it's just the one fanboy on the site that came up with the title.
So XBO+X360 = ~372k
PS4 + PS3 = ~370k.
Microsoft said:With Xbox One and Xbox 360 combined, the Xbox platform sold more hardware than any other home console platform and held 43 percent of the home console market share in the U.S.
It's either a Titanfall bump or PS4 is supply constraint.. ..
Aaaand there it is!Still nice to see PS4 winning NA though..
I wouldn't have bet on that even with that bad momentum for Xbone..
Not sure how you got that?
I can see the argument I suppose. The US and the UK were the best territories for the 360, so good for them that they essentially counteracted the RoW sales going the other way.
Currently they're seeing second place sales in the US and UK and presumably RoW going even further the other way. And they'll want to reverse that obviously.
One of the things i'm grateful for in life is that I cant think like a PR person. PR gotta PR.Why would they even bother doing a spin like this:
With the numbers being a virtual tie? So you've got 43% of the market? So does the other guy.
I hope these XB1 numbers will finally cease the endless litany of "XB1 in trouble" reports we keep seeing in the gaming media.

This is the market they need to run away with, not break even in. NPD sales health for a MS console should be domination over their competitor since their worldwide marketshare outside of the US is usually so much lower.
Breaking even in the NPD is a win for Sony after the marketshare numbers of last gen in NA when you consider that Sony still sold 80 million worldwide after losing big time in NA.

Let me join the fun just because I have been using Topsy recently.

So the 3DS is wedged between the 360 and X1, saleswise. Not too bad.

How many XB1's did Microsoft sell in January again? What was it like 145K or something? Decent bump in sales from last month if that is true.
I am surprised to see that Sony cannot ship more PS4's to the U.S. than this. Why are they still having such supply problems? I guess that Asian launch didn't help matters.
I still say they should've help off the Asian launch until the summertime and sent that extra stock of PS4's to the U.S.
We need 3DS numbers (not combined with Vita)
I hope these XB1 numbers will finally cease the endless litany of "XB1 in trouble" reports we keep seeing in the gaming media.
Are those platforms in order of sales? So CoD sold more on Xbox than PS4? That's interesting given the sales edge to Sony and the momentum currently. That, plus titanfall might start to define Xbox one as the FPS box, and I'm sure MS's wouldn't mind that at all.

PS4 seems solid everywhere and remains challenged by supply - with the possible exception of Japan although I personally think it's doing as well as any console could at the moment given it's library at this point combined with the local market conditions.
Yes and Yes.Are those platforms in order of sales? So CoD sold more on Xbox than PS4? That's interesting given the sales edge to Sony and the momentum currently..
Wait, is there confirmation that 360 > PS3 > Wii U? Damn:/
Microsoft is definitely benefiting from PS4 shortages. However, the whole situation also means that they can hold off from making any significant moves (like dropping the price, especially in Europe, and launching in other countries) until Sony resolves those issues. In the mean time, they're riding those higher margins for all they're worth.
subtract 10k and you won't be far off.
I think both XB1 and PS4 will sell more than 400K in March.
I expected xbox to do well feb and march due to titan fall, since the deals are great. Those who were waiting to get the xbox till price cut, has great reasons to buy it. PS4 did ok, I periodically check my area in SF, and it's been mostly sold out so we'll see if infamous or mgs will bump that as well. I"m curious of the worldwide number
