Proof that Lego can hold it's own without a licensed IP. all the more embarrassing for Lego City really.

Maybe, but it doesn't change the fact that the PS4 IS still heavily supply constraint and would have sold more.
What the hell with CoD Ghosts man? People have nothing else to buy?
Hopefully TitanFall dethrones it, and not just for one month!

LOL IGN:
Looks like someone corrected Mitch Dyer work. Correction, they only corrected it on the front page or when you click on the article. It still has the original title before you click on it in the Xbox One section but it's no longer on the front page and PS4 section. The same guy that said you can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080p unless you have a 60 inch TV or bigger.
Also:
Microsoft to be 'Direct and Honest' With Fans (IGN)
I'm sorry, but IGN is looking more biased everyday.
The LEGO Movie is a licensed IP.
"So" what? So? That is Sony's "fault" for not being able to keep up with demand.
MS sold well because they adapting their strategies very quickly
PS4s have been in stock in most stores in my area since mid to late January. I also live in a college town...
About that...PS4 is over 400K sold in Japan as of Wednesday's Media Create numbers.
I hope the XB1 has a bump. If its still hasnt picked up any steam after January then thats worrying.
It either had a bump or the PS4 supply and/or demand has fallen a ton.
Hmmm, help me out here GAF - which is it?
I think there is clearly increased demand for the XB1. The PS4 is still selling well.
yes xbox demad is clearly higher, and we can't say anything about ps4 demand while sony remains supply constrained.
Precisely, as things stand the PS4 is not yet the complete package, as of today besides play PS4 games, my PS3 is a more capable machine and sits at the centre of my media hub, can be connected to my external hard drives to access even more media.

COD stil sitting at #1 just shows how little influence the "gaming media" has over people's purchases. They roasted that game, almost every one of them, yet it's still on top. I love that.
Pretty much, though at this point its only a technical supply constraint I imagine. Same as in Japan after first week.
Anyone who wants a PS4 in US can get one. It was in stock in Amazon for 5/6 days then out for a day or 2 now back in again.

it was oos more consistently in feb though so march should be a pretty big uptick one would assume, especially since there are also a couple of new games out.
When all is said and done, I expect Xbox One will win the United States by a small margin while failing disastrously everywhere else.
Microsoft will handily take March thanks to Titanfall.
Definitely disagree. The demand for a PS4 still outstrips the actual supply in America. Just because you can snatch one if you're lucky on Amazon doesn't really change that.
Really glad MS did well, hopefully shake Sony out of complacency.
Not going to happen unless they drop kinect and work towards price parity. Unless they do, every time they drop the price, Sony can retaliate with their own price drop and undercut them.
Price is probably the #1 factor for most among many smaller ones.
with the bad economic situation that sony is in I don't think they will do that so easily as many here at gaf believe it.

Great to see XO selling more. I never want a one sided console Gen.
I really, really don't get this. How is selling every single console you produce off the factory line complacency?
Opening more lines is not cost effective and also isn't something that is done quickly or without issue. Without doing that, what could they have done to increase sales and shake out of complacency?

You don't need to be lucky. It was in stock for days. Its in stock now.
My post has nothing to do with sales, more to do with the functionality.
attaching external HDD
DLNA
Mp3
can't be so hard to implement surely.
Hell, it couldnt even play Blu rays out of the box
Lol don't go overboard. The supply constraint talk won't work every month. And yes it broke launch records because hardcore's bought it on hope and faith. But I doubt supply is a problem in Japan. And I'm sure if you want one you will find one these days."So" what?
I'm not talking about the Xbone here.
Just supporting iori9999's post (quote: supply constraint)
And I wouldn't talk about a "fault" just because the PS4 is breaking sales records left and right.
Demand for the PS4 is monstrous worldwide.
Such nonsense. Complacent? Why? Because they are playing their hand close to their chest? Why blow your load when you can't even supply enough consoles?Really glad MS did well, hopefully shake Sony out of complacency.
This Gen is far from won.
E3 should shed more light on things.
So being able to get a PS4 from one source online means the US is no longer supply constrained? You realize that makes no sense right? Lol
PS3 still destroys PS4 as a media box though. C'mon Sony...They both have streaming now with streaming being better on the Xbox One. I think things are pretty much even now in terms of media features outside of Xbox still having apps like Hulu and Netflix behind the paywall (so silly in 2014).
In fact last gen was pretty perfect for us gamers. Some healthy competition, only minor trolling and some awesome games.
TBH I think this gen is going to end up more or less the same. A pity the Wii U seems to be struggling so hard... I would have loved 3 well selling consoles.
Anyway... I am sure the only way is up for the XBox One in the US.
Yeah I agree with you. After looking at that list Microsoft have gotten extremely complacent. My post has nothing to do with sales, more to do with the functionality their flagship consumer product.

And with the shakeup at MS and the shot fired across the XB Brand? We can play that game all day.
We already know both consoles are slightly subsidized, XB1 being more. I don't think MS is any more ready than Sony to start generating larger losses on yet another subsidized console.
Price drops will happen on both a timeline and with hardware revisions. If you do see one go early, the other will have room to maneuver unless it's a very drastic price drop out of sheer panic. And if thats the case, its not good news for the one doing it.
And February will be the last month of PS4 domination.
