But a PC is so hard to use! /s
I find PC gaming to be so easy, even a caveman could do it. However let me run down the list of my personal friends who have tried PC gaming. I am not actively telling friends I'll be the PC gamer, you guys please never touch this stuff.
Random stuff I've helped friends with, or tired and just told them to stay away:
- A guy couldn't get his monitor resolution correct. It was always off and he couldn't figure out how to restart and have it stay at 4k.
- A guy couldn't get audio to work on his headphones. He bought 3 pairs and none of them produced audio. I didn't think in Windows 11 it was possible to have this stuff happen but this guy definitely did. He even video chatted with me and we still were stuck. So I think he broke his port like an idiot.
- A guy couldn't figure out what all the tech jargon was in the options menu and thought because he was on PC, graphics could always be at the max. Cyberpunk didn't run well. He sold the PC.
- A guy I know that works in IT couldn't get a game working during a co-op session. It would crash on him and he'd close the error message without ever reading it. I told him to read the freaking message to me and I'll figure it out. He kept forgetting. So he bought new hardware (RAM) to fix it. It didn't work, total shock.
- A guy who plays really basic games felt his computer was sluggish for them. They were running fine, but he felt because his hardware is old that he needed new hardware to run them better.
- A guy didn't know how to disable Steam pop ups and auto start so he stopped using PC. Began saying Steam acts like a virus.
- A 2nd guy did the same thing with Steam.
- A guy upgraded his CPU to the newest Zen series and was disappointed his game didn't benchmark the way they showed it. He never upgrade his 10 year old video card.
That's just a few examples in the past couple of years. I only know one guy in real life that actually knows how to use a PC legitimately.
