Quite frankly a lot of exciting stuff, the good part is that many of the surprises are around the corner. The Palworld surprise, free Astrobot DLC later this year, that Stellar Blade x Nier collaboration 🔥 🔥Lego Horizon this November and getting Horizon Zero Dawn being upgraded to Forbidden West levels for 9.99$ is obviously good news for fans of the series.
And they're starting to build the 2025 lineup with Dinasty Warriors in January, MH in February, Ghost of Yotai, Death Stranding 2 and GTA6 all possibily next year 🤯

Among the new titles The Midnight Walk and the Archeage Chronicles looked promising, especially the former.

Meh, C I guess. Astro Bot DLC was the most interesting thing for me.

GOT2 looked nice visually as expected but it's not my type of game so nothing I'm excited for.

A for me; for a SOP that hit all the right notes with a bit of everything.

These aren't supposed to be E3-level blowouts. Everything (bar Veilguard and its horrid mobile-inspired "art"-direction) looked good, and I was pleased to see plenty of service for long-time Playstation fans.

Voted a D because MHW doesn't look very hot imo and the only cool new reveals were Ghosts 2 and a remaster of an old JRPG.

I liked the Stellar Blade x Nier collaboration, but that's just funny because of Yoko Taro. Other than that, the Lunar games were the only highlight, but I'll be getting those on the Switch (2).

Ghost of Girlboss would have been really interesting in literally any other generation, but current Sony is just going to make a horrible character out of that.

Not for me. Most new games are not these days even if they look nice.

Horizon is still the most stupid, waste of money project they're doing. What's the damn point. Just make a new game with that team, remaster a much, much older game. Enough with all these stupid remasters.

Can't wait to see Ghost running on the Pro on the OLED TV

For me:

Monster hunter release date + New ghost game + Dino crisis on PS classics is instant A. I also thought that getting the first horizon on the same level as forbidden west for 10$ is a steal.

Edit:
that Stellar Blade x Nier collaboration
Shit, that too. Really pumped for it.

Some interesting looking reveals at the start worth closer look. Stellar Blade Automata DLC? Also confirmed pro mode liely 4k/60... that PS5 pro reel missed the games I wanted to see there the most but everything looked so nice and holy shit at the ending. Amazing show if it wasn't for the load of nothing midde but an easy A for Ghost alone. HYPE!

A pretty solid B from me. Almost an A.

It got me interested in MH Wilds, in DA Veilguard, the Stellar Blade x Nier Automata DLC, Allan Wake 2 DLC (I hyped myself too much at first thinking it was the Control 2 announcement xD), HZD remastered (gorgeous and a cheap upgrade), Soul Reaver remastered collection, and that new Ghost game (I have yet to play the first one, but that looked great).

And it's great to see PSVR2 getting some love (the clay game looked interesting, and hitman, and metro).

It was very well paced too. I enjoyed my time and it did its job; making me interested in games.

B

I thought it was good. A bunch of variety (not all for me) and I can understand the sentiment toward remastering Horizon but I love it.

Ghosts was a great end too.

Most of my enjoyment f this showcase from Monster Hunter Wilds which has nothing to do with Sony themselves.....so I go with D.

C.
Not terrible, not great.
Hell is Us looks interesting though the dev doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
And GOT2 looks cool.

Other than that it was pretty boring.

I'd give it a B - better than some of their recent state of plays but a far cry from where they used to be.

Lunar was the highlight for me, brought back memories watching my dad play them on our Sega CD lol. Ghost of Tsushima 2 looks interesting but I need to see more to determine if the female protag is an annoying girlboss or a well written compelling character. The quality of the original game makes me lean towards the latter and want to give SuckerPunch the benefit of the doubt but I've been burned enough by western studios (not to mention Sony this gen) to be cautious. Outside of that it looked fantastic.

for a State of play, it's a B.

that absolute shite crap-looking Dragon Age presentation dragged the show to a halt basically.

Better than their last showing. Solid variety. Still have many massive games not revealed but at least people got the new Sucker Punch game.

I gave it a B.
Ghost is going to look amazing on the Pro.
I like the Midnight Walk art style, the cool stop-motion animation reminds me of South of Midnight, which I'm excited about. It's a shame that this is a PSVR game.
Fantasia Neo Dimension looks good. Coming from Sakaguchi it has to be pretty damn good.]
Lunar and Legacy of Kain collections are no-brainers.

I give it a C. GOT 2, Lunar, and The Midnight walk are the only ones on PS i'm interested in. Not interested in games with souls-like combat. Never really liked Monster Hunter or Dynasty Warriors.

This one gets an A from me, lots of stuff I am going to be playing. Astrobot speedrun levels are the most fun from those games. The midnight walk is day one and I don't say that about a lot of VR games, that artstyle will be super interesting to see in VR. Hell is us looks interesting?, has potential but definitely going to have to see more. Monster hunter wilds is looking even better than before. I'll probably pick up the stellar blade x nier dlc if its any good. And of course Ghosts 2 is day 1, it looks amazing.

Really good state of play for me personally.

Solid B rating. Games of note:

  • Astro Bot Free DLC
  • The Midnight Walk
  • Hell is Us
  • Archeage Chronicles
  • Lunar Remastered Collection
  • Alan Wake 2 Lake House
  • Soul Reaver 1/2 Remastered
  • Horizon Remastered 9.99 upgrade
  • PS Plus Dead Space, Blood Omen, Dino Crisis
  • Ghost of Yotei

That was distinctly average at best. GOY at the end saved it for the die hards, but man far too much time spent on dragon age. I almost fell asleep. Literally due to the time.

A.

Just games, barely any nonsense.
No Gaas, lots of AA singleplayer games, Ghost of Yotei as well, so less whining from the usual suspects.

Good to see some love for VR as well.

That's not bad at all. I'm good with a B.

C. It was okay. It's kind of a bummer that this has historically been the quarter when the bigger games would come out, but this year feels light.

Space Marine 2 was great, and maybe Dragon Age can do okay? It may get a boost for people looking for something fantasy after Baldur's Gate 3.

Next year is starting to look good, and I would have liked to of seen more. Thank goodness for strong third party support.

They could of done well to show off something else like Wolverine just to show first party content is coming. Hopefully in better quality than the leaks.

C.
Even if I'm not interested in most of the games, it was not dog shit.
Quick pace and very little annoying talking.

C-/D+

I swear to titty fucking Christ, if Sony doesn't blow me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) away in December, I quit PlayStation.

Edit: Not that any of you and certainly not Sony give a shit. 🤷‍♂️

So what was the "less exciting" remaster Grubb mentioned? Legacy of Kain? (Which I would think is better than "less exciting")
