Yeah, I can buy that. In fact, you might see stuff in my post history that says "the glaze is too strong", or something close to it. I'm not suddenly an Xbox fan, guys. Lol

Look, the showcases and the quarterly earnings are all well and good, but the end result needs to be a good number of great games that holistically justifies purchasing this hardware at these prices.

The biggest announcement at this display was a Not!sequel to Returnal - which sold like utter shit.
Completely fair.

I don't like 80% of what they showed either, but I can acknowledge that they did show a great number of games and didn't waste any time on nonsense.
Simple and straight to the point.

It's also clearly a AA/Indie focused SoP, so it's a bit weird to see people whine about a lack of big titles.

With so many voting F, what are you playing when nothing of interest was shown here? For real, I want to hear it, what are you playing? Start listing games
Games I am playing/intend to play this year (incl. some older ones), assuming they come out/I have time:

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty
Blood West
STALKER 2
The Thaumaturge
Avowed
Gothic Remake
Vampire Bloodlines 2
Mafia Old Country
TLOU 2
Dying Light Beast
Fable
Crimson Desert
Industria 2

I can only give them so many props for sticking to a logical formula they've had for most of a decade.
Xbox is also very good at the Playlist aspect of their presentations, as Bosman puts it. If the games suck, the games suck.

It's also clearly a AA/Indie focused SoP, so it's a bit weird to see people whine about a lack of big titles.
Frankly, I don't think people are buying PS5s or Pros for AA games and indies.

And there were several new ones too, unless you specifically avoid action and action-adventures or only play first party games I can’t see how anyone can go away thinking it was a F. There were some smaller games as padding but otherwise a show literally filled with amazing-looking games. As said in another thread I’ve been hammering the wishlist button on Steam after the show, I didn’t expect that.

Well I didn't see one game I would play that we didn't hear off already.

Might as well not have happened.
I used to get excited for these things but I think i should stop.
But atleast i got to see something.

And people hate on Developer_Direct.

Who the fuck gave it an A+

Anyone who voted A or above is a pure Sony Pony Muppet. There was nothing in there to even consider it was close to an A.

Don't shit yourself, let everyone vote how they want, it's just a stupid poll on an internet forum. There is no need to call people names.

The show wasn't the greatest, but giving it an 'F' is a little over the top.
People have a short term memory when it comes to showcases. There have been some spectacularly terrible and some downright boring F-rating showcases and conferences in the past that would make this show look like an easy A-rating by comparison.

Edit: Or they are the dreamer hype-types who somehow thought Sony would have Bloodborne 2, Resident Evil 9, New Fromsoft game, and Half-Life 3 all in one February showcase.

I know, I was referring more to Gaf.

People have been whining the entire gen that devs are too focused on AAA gaming.

Turns out those people don't even want AA/Indie themselves.

Solid C but it was shocking to see that they only had one first party game here. The state of first party projects is something we havent seen in a while

Looks more like a list from a PC oriented gamer…
Almost all the games shown is coming to PC so you should find something to like there. Saros is assumably coming later.

Not gonna lie, I genuinely expected a Bloodborne remaster or even just a measly PS5-patch. This would've been the perfect moment, right before its 10-year anniversary. Now I think my copium tank has officially emptied. There's not going to be any new Bloodborne stuff with From heading it. More likely, I think, it's getting the same treatment as Demon's Souls, a remake by Bluepoint on the next console.

You were right all along... It was not your eyes but mine that were closed. Grant me eyes, grant me eyezzz

No interest in Tides of Annihilation, Mindseye, Saros, new Onimusha, Darwin’s Paradox, Lies of P 2?

Lies of p is a dlc and I didn't like the main game that much. Onimusha was already announced, Saros was only cgi and I don't care for the rest.

if you're comfortable in your "opinion" you'd answer my question

What makes the Microsoft conference an "A", and the State of Play so terrible? Objectively it's comical to even make such a claim, in my view, just looking at the list of games at both. And I rated the MS direct the same score you did. It was a good showing of around 4 games, with two of them that I'm highly interested in and the others I'm not as high on yet but can see why others may like them.
I rated it an F. I want to see exclusives. I got 1, coming in 2026. And a remaster of a very average game no one was asking for. Everything else is playable elsewhere. And most of it didn't appeal to me apart froma 2d side scroller. Bring on the Switch 2 show ffs. Nintendo, save us PLEASE!!!

Well you’re certainly hard to please, keep on playing whatever you’re playing instead then.

I play loads of games across different genres every year. My taste isn't a problem for me.

I also see it in perspective that we didn't hear from them for half a year and they mostly show already known games. I expect alot more from them that's all.

State of Play needs to change.
It’s boring to watch.

It’s a C, just because Saros, New Onimusha and Tides of Annihilation.

But who want to see a Digimon (look like a PS3 game) or a DLC for Dave the Diver in this kind of communication ?

C'mon people, you doesn't want a flashy Sci-Fi adventure where you play as a lesbian couple that fights dragons and shit in space while dishing out cool one liners smashing the patriarchy? For this game alone I give it an A++, more lesbian content please.

Just play the games on the device you prefer and enjoy. Why does it matter if they’re playable elsewhere?
If you specifically want first party studio games from like Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Insomniac, then yeah the show was lacking there but they’ll probably keep that for a bigger summer showcase.

The Last big show was bad too. They announced Astro bot which was nice and and a wonderful awesome game but Jesus no need for a showcase for one game. Make a blog post and stop wasting our time.

As said above if people are specifically looking for something from Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Insomniac etc then I assume they’ll keep that for a summer show. This is a February State of Play announced 2 days before airing. I’m surprised they showed as much as they did.
Edit: sorry didn’t see you already commented on that

It doesn't need to be the big dogs but like I repeatedly said if you mostly show old stuff don't do a show at all.

C+ because MGS3Δ release date had already leaked.

I liked DG Remastered and it is good to know that Housemarque is evolving the Returnal recipe with Saros.
Hell is Us looked a bit more interesting than last time we saw it.
Mindseye looks promising but the game needs more work, looks very stiff and uncanny.

B+ for me. Tides of Annihilation, Midnight Walk release date and some gameplay, Lost Soul release date, Lies of P Overture, Stellar x Nikke collab DLC, Days Gone Remastered for $10 for those who already own it.

Sony didn't show anything from them beyond Soras (that'll probably play because Returnal was very good), and that is the true disappointment of the show.

Rated it B+ because lack of first party options. But all in all some great games, and it show a healthy ecosystem that developers want to release game in it, and Sony want to do it right by the ones that make them money and pay 30% back by selling them in State of Plays.

If the God of War remaster and Parasite Eve comeback rumours were true, it would have been good for me. But the God of War Greek Saga predictions were always a little suspicious me considering that modern Sony would have to include the sex minigames which would be a no-go to them surely these days. Imagine the fat hipster host of the show announcing that LOL

I guess it's nice to have a release date for Shinobi and Metal Gear, but that's been all for me. Honestly Onimusha was a little disappointing, I wish it had a modern backdrop like the third game to differentiate itself from Sekiro and Nioh in particular. Sonic racing looks lame too.

Xbox shows nothing but Multiplat stuff - A+ WOOOO XBOX IZ BAKK
PlayStation shows way more Multiplat Stuff plus teases first party exclusives as well as third party exclusives - Waaaa Waaaaa TRASH, D Tier, NUTHIN FUR MEEE REEEEEEE

Yeah screw you guys. Saros looks incredible absolutely cant wait for that. Midnight Walk looks incredible. Lost Soul Aside looks crazy and at least worth checking out. Warriors Abyss, Darwins Paradox look fun. On multiplat side Hell is Us looks amazing, Tides of Annihilation looks good. Onimusha looks great with all that enviromental interaction. Good show, only let down by the lack of first party reveals of exclusives but eh. C+

Show was not perfect, sure.
But showed a lot of different games. Saros will be great. Onimusha.

Sure, no Bloodborne like a lot of you people wanted (It will come eventually).

Then it hit me.
A lot of you are the problem of the industry. Sure, jokes are fine. But furthermore. Cancerous. No Bloodborne? F rating! "This, that"... "It sucked!".

Cancerous. All of you are doing this to yourself.

No offence but it’s starting to sound like the excuses Xbots used to make with no exclusives on their console- just wait until next year. They’ll show something then…! Eventually they’ll appear!!!

We are still chasing hype shows and we have to admit that they ain't coming back. If they want to do those lowkey shows forever I will stop watch those live. It's a waste of time.

Xbox Showcase and TGA were pretty hype last year. And considering Sony announced Ghost of Yotei and Intergalactic last year and Saros now they could have put together a Showcase if they wanted to but it seems they just don't care anymore.
