Sony Bend has/had been working on three games since 2019

Sure... unfortunately we'll never hear about them because sony forgot about their own first party studios with how fucking quiet they've been this generation so far. Now, not only will you have to wait longer for announcements but when they do finally show, it'll be mediocre and generic looking live service games like concord!

Wasn't day gone 2 cancelled?

Imagine if it wasn't and the director for the first game, who left Bend and had been whining for the past 4 years about DG2 being cancelled, ended up being wrong. 🤣

Working on three games doesn't mean those will ever release. Factions was cancelled so that's a minus one. Days Gone 2 was canceled as well. So that leaves us with the real game they are working on, which will likely be shit and the studio will shut down.

It was. But maybe Sony heard the support of days gone 2.

They care more about media soyboys than 9 million copies sold.

Btw not sure if i like decima for their new game.

I have my reasons related to previous decima games but it could also be a coincidence or dev related so i don't wanna speak too much...

Decima is a fantastic engine (on how it looks anyway) though.
Yeah i know, i have some specific problems with how it handle some things but like i said, i'm not sure if it is an engine thing or a dev thing. (Probably the latter).

Technically they rejected the Days Gone 2 pitch and were told to work on something else. Doesn't mean there couldn't have been another pitch that has been greenlit since.
Considering that pitch wanted to turn a single player game into a co-op game, maybe that's why the first pitch got rejected. Although that butthurt director claimed Sony didn't want two zombie games.

When you have some specific problems with it the explane what troubels you see.

Imagine wasting Bend talent on helping ND make a multiplayer, just in the end to cancel.

I can't even think of the money wasted into fire for all this time.

I don;t know, with how woke Sony is, and them ditching John Garvin after he correctly bad mouthed games journalist for their anti-white anti-striaght tirades on the character of Deacon and his wife, only for the studio to side with the journos over Their own creative director.

Yeah the studio has to be compromised with the woke mind virus. Only hope is the that the studio head Chris Reese, looks like he likes Elon musk on his twitter, but if that is the case, why didn't he have Garvins' back? The whole shit show over days gone really pissed me off. It was an amazing game and breath of fresh air in a medium that only seems to want to green-light non masculine males and masculine females in current day.

Bend has to do a lot to earn my trust again, like make a good game that isn't woke. I don't see it happening but they can prove me wrong, I'd be happy if that was the case.

Huh, I remember David Jaffe mentioning that he heard of Bend Studio's next game running on Decima back in 2021 and everyone laughed at him and told the man he didn't knew what he was talking about and other mean shit.

Well... HE WAS RIGHT, EAT SHIT HATERS!!!

And none of them are Days Gone 2 :messenger_pensive:

Probably GAAS or multiplayer themed garbage featuring women who wear underwear with dickholes in em.

Thats the result of the last interview with Days Gone director.

I like Decima and i was hoping it will be the default engine for most Sony studios eith a few exceptions like ND.

I am very positive about Bend. They delivered with DG and i am looking forward for their next game.
The photo realistic character models in Death Stranding are under-rated for a game made on ps4 hardware. Its going to be crazy to see the next new IP made with this tech.

Just to throw some gas on the fire.
They were still working on a AAA live service Unreal Engine game as recent as March this year.

Something tells me whatever it was, wasn’t cancelled.

It's a shame everyone is such an insufferable asshole to him on here that he wrote the site off. He still checks it, wanted to actually talk to us about games, and obviously has some Sony connections and game dev experience.

and it comes out and is a highly rated game in the 90's, sells 10MM+ copies. Oh the tears would be glorious

  • Unreal Engine: Days Gone 1
  • ND engine: After DG they were supporting TLOU Online until got their next project (the new IP they are working on) greenlighted, and also in the early preproduction of an Uncharted game
  • Decima: Maybe it's the engine they'll use in their new IP, but I think it's more likely that they are using UE5 instead. I'd say pretty likely they only used it to learn/reseach it and maybe consider it for future projects, or maybe to get some stuff from there and put it in UE.
As expected, they canceled those two projects and now are working on a new IP that will likely reuse as many assets from Days Gone as possible while trying to convince people that it's something fresh.
They can't cancel games that never existed. After Bend shipped Days Gone, the only Bend project had under production is the new IP they are working right now.

Until the new IP got greenlighted, they did some support in TLOU Online and the preproduction of an Uncharted game that maybe never entered production. They never sent a Days Gone 2 pitch to Sony, it was rejected internally at Bend before pitching it.

It was. But maybe Sony heard the support of days gone 2
Days Gone 2 never was cancelled because it never started. According to the Days Gone 1 directors they never pitched Days Gone 2 to Sony because the Bend bosses didn't want to make Days Gone 2. So they never started their development since they can't work in a project that doesn't have a greenlighted budget.

Next game is Decima? Cool, always thought it would be UE5 with the UE experience they have when making Days Gone. More Devs using Decima is a good thing.

Totally agree. People were falling over themselves to talk shit to jaffee. It was embarrassing. If you think jaffee is eccentric that's fine but don't be a complete asshole like alot of you were to him.

People acted like he has no idea what he was talking about.

lol they do not have 3 of their own games in progress. the naughty dog engine was them acting as support studio.

A guy I used to work with is there as an artist. sony do a lot of talent sharing. I don't know anything about their new game, other than he thinks it's going to be fucking awesome.

Id say ND MP’s modes in U2/TLOU/U4 are better than anything Bend has put together combined lol
