I didn’t have any children when I first pledged. I have two now with one in Middle School even.I wonder how many have pledged and died. And our their pledges inheritable.

They could be on Squadron 45 by now with each game expanding but why bother when simps will throw money at them and excuse this mismanagement indefinitely. From Software has released Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and Armored Core 6 since 2012. They will also probably put out 1 or 2 more games by 2026. Star Citizen might be a scam guys.
So the game crashed, something they have had month to prepare, one little segment of scripted gameplay and it crashes.....Says alot where this "game" is. It will not come 2026, it will never be released at all. Keep the scam going you fucks.
It's 2 games so basically 6-7 years for each = normal dev time I'd say.Because they’ve been working on it for….how long? Come on, use your common sense. It’s never coming out. Mainstream press have been running articles suggesting fraud for literally a decade. This is not even my original idea, I’m just agreeing with it.
It was announced in fucking *2012*. Don’t get on my ass about how I’m somehow being the ridiculous one. Let’s look at the facts.
Damn last thing a friend got me (also ~10 years ago) was a pair of fucking flip flops with zero tread to where I stepped on a painted piece of pavement and it was like an ice rink and my knee wasn't right for weeks.Got this package gifted by a friend more than 10 years ago omg
Good thing is SQ42 is included.
It's releasing in 2026 years from now. Set the countdown clock and start the insanity. So now that we know its releasing in 2026 the only question remains if its Gregorian calendar (doubt), Alexandrian or some different one?

No there was also traversing the burning ship, crawling through an engineering trench, zero-g traversal, and some FPS combat.Admitedly I skipped through the video, but did they only show an on-rails turret sequence as far as gameplay?
There's nothing mind blowing, but put it on 1.75 - 2.0x speed and give it a watch for 30 minutes. The little details in the ships are interesting to see and it feels like a lived in universe with people doing their own thing. The space combat sequences were also really good so at least jump to the last 20 or so minutes for the meat of the space combat. But the moving through the burning ship was cool, especially going to the bunk area and needing to crawl on the ground through collapsed bunks to get around a blocked area. The presentation is quite long and scanning through it I haven't found much going on other than eye candy. Is there a timestamp during the presentation that stands out as being worth checking out?
Until CIG proves otherwise, the only thing we have to go on are past actions. Past actions tells us that there is no reason to believe they will release a game anytime soon. How can anyone actually say things like this? They just showed an hour of actual on stage gameplay and the game looks excellent. 2 more years to polish it up and it’s going to be something really special.
Like… how far up your own ass does your head need to be to just ignore everything they showed at the convention today?
I can guarantee you the people financing Square asked them wtf was going on with FFv13/FFXV every time it appeared on the books with no release date associated with it. Same with all the other game you mentioned.Game development takes time. I don't understand how anyone can question this. FFXV was in development for 10 years and that game has a significantly smaller scope than the TWO GAMES that CIG is developing side by side. Like.. what's your point? Prey took 11 years. Duke Nukem, famously, 14 years. Shit happens. Games take time to make. That doesn't just automatically make them scams.
Flotsam, for instance, entered early access just over 5 years ago, and was a massively smaller game in scope back then. Today, its at version 0.8.5, and basically a completely different game. It's still not a scam.

I only had one child. Now I have two.
None are in single digits.
How far up your own ass does your head need to be to believe anything these guys present? This is a weird hill to die on at this point. I think they filmed it all 9 years ago. There has been a lot of technological advancement since then. This has to be one of the most uninspired demos I've seen in a while...
After all these years, this doesn't look that interesting to me at all. Yes, celebrity crew is there, but facial animation looks really bad compared to some current gen stuff.
Everything about the design feels so generic, like I've already seen it a million times. It doesn't have any "magic" like old star wars or alien for example, no just most basic, boring stuff.
I feel the same about the music - I genuinely dislike it. It reminds me of the same thing in today's movies of that type. Generic, uninteresting themes over and over and that" "tension pumping " sounds.
I don't care about the development time or cost, this just doesn't look interesting to play.
Zero innovative or interesting game design aspects.
And sometimes you can't just dissect games like that, you have to look at it as a whole. Even that way, it still left me cold.
It lacks some cool elements in the design of every mechanic too. Shooting looks and sounds terrible to me. Explosions too.
I sound too negative now, but it wasn't my intention since I love games like this and will be playing this for sure when it comes out. I'm just disappointed...
The original announced release date was 10 fucking years ago.
Blink twice if Chris is holding your family hostage BuggyGlad they delayed
The gap between Star Citizen and a released episode 1 of SQ42 (back when it was episodes), would have been awful. Everyone would have screamed at CIG to not have waited for the better tech.
Whole bunch of armchair developers who damn them if they do, damn them if they don't.
Blink twice if Chris is holding your family hostage Buggy
Of course people would've been disappointed--Roberts promised the moon. Delivering a regular game after that is inviting backlash and turning off the money faucet. The smarter solution is to keep promising more and more while pushing back the release date until maybe someday, after the better part of one BILLION dollars in crowdfunding money and a decade and a half of dev time, one small slice of those promises can be vaguely achieved. It was a codependent relationship between an incompetent, greedyAm I wrong? We all know it would have happened. Episode 1 would have gotten on-rail tech with jpeg planets with nothing seamless, hidden loading times, and episode 2 or 3 would have gotten the seamless tech.
Everyone would have screamed.
Crytek found drastic game changing tech in 2015. Its literally the foundation of what this game is today, everything is around seamless space.
Let's not even add that most episodic contents have a nice start for ep1 and then belly flop afterwards. We've had that wave of episodic games years ago. They almost all lost their userbase after ep1.
Look, I'm all for calling the mismanagement and feature creep this game had years ago. Peoples are baiting with low balls such as "it was 2014", no it never was, it was not full SQ42, it was episode 1 to begin with with completely different tech.

I see simps are early to the party.
It’s 1 hour of curated footage vs. 30-40 hours. They don’t have a game, it’s a scam.
Ok, was this intentional? That was stupidly boring, I set it to 2x speed and was still bored out of my mind, nothing happens for 25+ minutes.
Then 45 minutes in the damn thing crashes mid cutscene, they restart and then 15 minutes later there's some on foot gameplay again.
0 flight gameplay in the whole thing.
Then there's all the jank and screen tearing, just an awful demo/presentation.
Also this lmao wtf
Not saying its not a scam but a 40 hour cinematic campaign is absolutely huge for a first person shooter/space combat game. After over 14 years in development you would expect it to be a massive 100 hour campaign…
And how many times did they already said it’s coming. This game is just a huge fraud, just to continuously collecting money via crowdfunding…
This is the IQ of a star citizen supporter. Having to explain that a decade is 10 years and being happy with that time frameI've been waiting 10 years for Squadron 42 when I started backing it a decade ago
Feel sorry for people who continue to spend their hard earned money on this pyramid scheme.
I had a friend who told me this was going to be “the future of gaming” about 10 years ago. He spent a few hundred on some ships and shit. I had no idea what he was doing and now he admits it was all nonsense.
It’s your money though so don’t let me influence your decision.

Roberts was always confusing when talking about what they would release as SQ42 (depending the year and who you'd ask it'd be a prologue, a first episode, or a full game pending at least one DLC, "Behind Enemy Lines").Most games of this type come in at the 6-10 hour mark. Perhaps they might have been better aiming for that. Or Episodes or something.
This game will sell millions just coming off it's reputation. PC gamers love this type of schtick and word of mouth.
It may even take on GTA6 if they release it on consoles 2026
Too bad it wont come out in 2026, vaporware!
Graphics looking dated before 2026.
