You can even turn off the eating with Nix minigame

But who would ever do that 🥰

I love how Nix slowly evolves into the smartphone from the original Watch_Dogs

Haven't turned off anything, the slicing gets so much easier anyway with upgrades, and I have no problem with the rhythm/counting for data spikes, but I also play an instrument.

If you want to save your sanity, turn off all those dumb mini games for slicing and picking locks. Makes it way more enjoyable to skip all that mess.
for me, those fucking mini-games could've kill this whole game for me. really not sure what's with all these dated gameplay aspects. were they going for a quaint, old-school feel to go along with the source material? whatever the reason, i'm very glad you can just turn the damn things off...

I play an instrument too and I still think it sucks and is a waste of time

So I’m kind of worried. Been playing for a few hours and I still can’t manually save anywhere. It’s greyed out…

you'll soon be 'rewarded' with the ability. everything up to & including your first syndicate mission would seem to be the game's intro/tutorial section. complete that mission & you're good...

Played the first mission on Geforce Now (also tried it on my PC but couldn't tell the difference) and enjoying it so far. The discourse around this game is a little ridiculous.
Woke this, ugly that. STFU. Looking forward to digging in this weekend.
Yeah she really isn’t bad looking outside of the still frames people posted here.

So far everything in motion and cut scenes of her are good. She’s by no means a babe but she looks good if that makes sense.

The gameplay is good albeit I’m worried that all I get is a blaster for the combat. I picked up a rifle thinking “oh good you get more guns,” but Kay drops it two seconds later to go down a ladder.

The secondary weapons are super strong and frankly OP, you'll get plenty of upgrades for your blaster though.

The hotfix on pc for improved stability already made the game crash 2 times during a match of sabacc after like 5 min of gameplay, not bad :messenger_expressionless:

I am always puzzled as to what causes crashes in games. Is the engine itself unstable? Did a developer do something weird?

I have no idea but i played the game without crashes for almost 10 hours and now it crashed 2 times in rapid succession after the hotfix, i'm doing a verify game file check as we speak.

Edit: the file check found stuff to repair so hopefully it was just a case of the hotfix not properly installing.

Some of these missions are structured really strangely.

I capture a guy, then I have to fly into space to shoot down some Imperials, then return to the planet and turn him in?

Maybe I'm just fucking stupid and missing things, but some of these missions feel inflated - even if they are still fun and 100% Star Wars.

There's hardware crashes and software crashes.
A hardware crash would be something like a memory leak, where the hardware can't keep executing the code and the process freezes.
A software crash is when the engine can't continue executing code because something told it to stop, which could be any number of things like a wrong value that doesn't resolve properly for the rest of the logic so it doesn't know what to do and just stops.

PC only?

Knock on wood I’ve been very lucky and had no crashes so far on PlayStation five. The 40 FPS mode looks fantastic and runs great.
I didn't had crashes for 10 hours before the hotfix for "improved stability" :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Maybe playing sabacc causes a memory leak or the script is broken.
No the third crash was after winning the sabacc match, i was just running around the city.

I unistalled and reinstalled, hopefully it's gonna fix it.

Edit: yeah the game is beyond fucked now, i had no audio in game and then a bsod, thanks ubisoft :messenger_expressionless:

The lighting in the open world is seriously impressive:

The Sun goes down, but all the time after; the Sun’s light is still reflecting off the gas giant, creating an almost permanent sunset/dawn.

The cloud tech is impressive too, it’s windy there so the clouds move incredibly fast but they kept it surprisingly realistic.

Edit: one more for the road:

I am not certain if I like the auto crouching.

I guess it is ok. I mean, it is there to tell you "HEY! THIS IS A STEALTH SECTION!".

It's just a little visual cue, probably something they implemented after loads of testing and seeing people getting themselves into trouble because they weren't aware of the kind of area they were in; she also gives a little audio cue on top of that.

Mediocre writing, poor voice acting......but overall I'm digging the game. It is fun. Love the faction stuff. Stealth is meh, but I prefer it to the gun fights.

Stealth gets better/easier/more fun once you get more skills and Nix learns new tricks

The more I play the more it really feels like the Star Wars take on Watch_Dogs 1

Someone needs to mod in Aiden's tactical baton for the melee beatdowns lol

You know it does remind me a bit of the combat in that, but the first game that popped in my head was the Mad Max game, it’s similar in that it’s way easier if you stealth it, but if you set of an alarm you can get absolutely swarmed…and going the ‘hard way’ is an absolute slog.

Yep popped into mine too. Would've loved to see a syndicate like gang system in that game. Definitely wouldve worked since you're working with groups throughout anyway.

Edit: Also cool we saw the comparison from diff angles

ubis pc launcher is so bad it literally pops up a outlaws ad to buy the game every time I exit the game. :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Had my first crash on PS5 while trollin a Pyke outpost. If you're being followed by a bunch of enemies on speeders don't to go into a town.
