You guys turned off chromatic abberation and film grain?

Also, are the black levels raised in HDR? Sure seems that way, sigh.

So if I understand this is not available on Steam?

Get fucked Ubi. Even fucking Blizzard put Diablo IV on Steam, and the integration with Battle.net is painless.
Just wait for it. I wait until they patch the game and I can get it for like 40EUR. Maybe even with DLC then. Ubisoft is one of these publishers you don't need to wait on for long until they give out discounts. And it's probably coming to Steam at some point when sales starts to drop on Uplay and Epic Store.

It's a shame the beginning is so rough and unforigiving, then suddenly it all just clicks. The combat and the stealth becomes very fluid. I have mixed reactions to the story and time period. Not that it's bad, but Disney has really pushed Crimson Dawn in comics, movies and the game. It overwrites Dash Rendar and Shadows or the Empire, which were never canon, just in my head canon. War of the Bounty Hunters etc. Imagine a Nemesis type system in the game?

I see a lot of hate for the game and youtube videos claiming it's a flop, I really don't see it. The game is a pretty solid 7/10, maybe closer to 7.5/10, at least to me. Enjoying my time with it, remove the Star Wars license, I'm not sure how I would feel though.

Getting bad rep when you assult a camp and kill everyone without leaving testimonies is some bullshit...

Most of Ubi's output eventually makes it to Steam these days. You get the fixed and cheap version as well in most cases.

Good things come to those who wait! I stopped buying games on any other platform besides Steam a while ago. It's too big to ignore now for publishers.

Could you detail ?
Sure. My personal thoughts btw.

Pros:
Nice graphics (most of the time)
Nice environment diversity
Great soundtrack and audio

Cons:
Terrible stealth segments with dated mechanics
Terrible checkpoint system
Unlikeable protagonist
Confusing navigation across the world map
Bugs, some requiring restarting saves
Story was mid at best
No New Game Plus

Hence my 5/10

Reputation system is too easy to manipulate. I can totally screw over a faction and then just take a couple of side jobs and make up for it. I would have preferred that you choose a side and have to stick with it like in Starfield and Skyrim. Right now, every choice I make with a faction seems highly inconsequential.

It's an ubisoft open world mechanic, pretty wide but one inch deep.

And it's not even well done in term of logic, you get bad rep for killing everyone in a camp with no testimonies left and if you do a favor to a faction, the other faction get you bad rep even if they have no way to know you helped another faction.

And most of the rewards items are pretty useless anyway other than for fashion, i have the complete stealth suit from the crimson dudes and it makes no noticeable difference during stealth at all.

Having multiple fast travel points in the open world and not having people hunting on you every 5 min in the open world seems to be the only reason to have them on your side tbh.

They should have let cook this mechanic for another 6-12 months.

And bad rep for stealing something laying around when no one is there to see me. If I get caught in a restricted area with the stolen goods then that should add to the bad rep, but otherwise stealing is just stupid for what you get.

Do you get to walk into restricted areas if you have excellent rep?

I'm noticing a weird artefact or whatever it is on some materials/objects. Such as this metallic floor at the end. Aliasing, shimmering? I noticed it on other objects too. On a big TV it really stands out. Starfield had this too when you are in the elevator at the start.

Usually stealing doesn't get you bad rep if they don't see you but maybe i'm misunderstanding.

I think that the private area is still off limits, i only had the crimson on excellent for a brief period so i'm only 99% sure of that.

Btw the vram leakage is real, after 2 hours the game turn itself into the future switch 2 version :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Eh it can be hard to fix if you get one to Terrible.

Why is that? Can you not do these simple courier jobs when it is at terrible?

No, you need to have at worst Bad to pick up any. I haven't seen any that allow you to pick them up at Terrible.

You have to grind to find Syndicate Data to turn in or get lucky on an opportunity job for one of the other syndicates that you can double cross to fix the Terrible one.

Reached a really comfy point where I feel good enough to pause for a bit and wait to see how they tighten things up. Hit over 50% of the trophies already and the platinum is currently unobtainable because of a bug.

Still one of the funnest times Ive had this year for sure.

Are you really stopping just for the trophies?

Sorta, but also there's all the other stuff coming this month like Astro, Plucky Squire and Broken Sword and with the way Im playing Outlaws there's no way Ill finish before those come out. And because they clearly have some shit to iron out its no biggie for me to pump the brakes, especially with the progression stopping bugs Im hearing about. The last thing I need to to sink 60 hours into something only to for it break on me. And if that happened I'd never revisit it.

Have never had this happen to me, they actually need to spot you; trespassing, brawling, stealing need a witness, brawling also gets reported if you are fighting for too long with witnesses.

No bugs as of yet, just the jank.

I'd definitely like to go for the plat in this one so I dont mind waiting. Plenty of stuff coming up that'll keep me occupied.
I doubt they are gonna ever fix the jank tbh.

Ac games still have the glitchy finishers and all the glitch they had at launch for the most part, ubi usually just fix the performances.

If in 4 years they didn't noticed the jank i doubt they are gonna fix it now.

Yeah that is true.

The game has already caused me to reinstall KOTOR 1 and 2 and weirdly, Skyrim? I guess I really missed that feeling of being in some fully realized fantasy world.

While I don't own this, I did get a chance to look through this. I agree that it is very well done.

It's another example of how Massive really goes all in on trying to make the world immersive through all of the locations and backstories of characters that they build out.

My copy "Special Edition" didn't have the code for the DLC printed on the paper. Just a blank slot- wtf? lol

Ah.....ok. That makes more sense then. I just noticed my rep suffered and I thought I was alone. Could be there was a witness I had not noticed.

I'm just over 2 hours in and this game must have crashed 6 -7 times at random times, it just closes to desktop no warning or anything.

No other game does this, drivers and everything up to date w11 24/h2, 7800x3d, 4090.

God what a TRASH game. The stealth is crap, the enemy placement is trash, the combat is disgusting. Fuck this game. Jedi survivor is 10 times better than this crap

For people who finished the game, can you confirm that ALL the blaster modules (so like rapid fire, power mode, granade mode etc.) get unlocked just by doing the main campaign?

Or some types are locked behind sidecontent?
